CHAPTER 1 : THE NIGHT MY HEART BROKE
Olivia
"I need you to send me a picture of your dress," Violet's voice came from the other end of the phone.
"I sure will," I replied after putting on my lipstick, staring at my reflection in the mirror one more time, and I looked fantastic.
"Hudson is never going to see this coming," I said with a smile. "Talk to you later, bestie," I said before ending the call.
I stared at myself one last time. I felt a little bit nervous, but I hadn't seen him in almost 3 months since he moved to New York for his Alpha training, and I missed him so much. I was more than certain he would be happy to see me too.
I got out of my hotel room, flagged down a taxi, and headed straight to the party. Thank the Goddess he had mentioned attending a masquerade party at some bar.
When the taxi stopped in front of the bar, my heart skipped a painful beat.
"Why was I so nervous?" I whispered under my breath.
I got out, paid, and wore the mask I had brought.
I stepped in, and for a moment, I just stood at the door. It was so loud and overstimulating. I looked around, trying to see if I would be able to spot Hudson. Even with a mask, I would know my man anywhere.
I slowly started looking around. The music was so loud I could barely hear myself think. This place was completely packed, and the lights were all funky. It just made finding Hudson even more difficult.
A waitress walked towards me with a bunny mask, dressed half-naked. All her breasts were out.
"Can I get you a drink?" she said in a seductive voice.
"No, thank you," I declined politely.
As she was about to walk away, I stopped her.
"I'm looking for someone. I don't know if you can help me find them."
She stepped closer.
"I can get you anyone you want," she bit the bottom of her lip, "but it's going to cost you."
"Money isn't the problem," I said, pulling out a stack of $100 bills and handing it to her.
I showed her his picture on my phone, hoping even with a mask she would be able to point me in the right direction.
"Come with me," she said after taking the money from my hand.
"Where are we going?" I asked, following her regardless.
"Who you're looking for is at the VIP section."
I followed her, and we stopped in front of a place separated from the bar. Music was still playing, but there was a curtain shielding the VIP section from the rest of the bar.
"Whoever you're looking for is definitely in there." She smiled and walked away.
I dragged in a sharp breath. My palms were sweaty.
I was about to step in to surprise him when I heard a loud laugh, and I knew who the laugh belonged to. I could identify Hudson's voice anywhere.
The curtain was a bit transparent, and I squinted my eyes. I saw him with other people who looked like young Alphas also in training.
And there were a lot of half-naked strippers around them.
Well... I wasn't particularly pleased about that, but Hudson wasn't reckless, and I trusted him.
" Hudson how that you have enough alcohol in your system tell us, Have you smashed her yet?" someone's voice came from behind the curtain, making me stop in my tracks.
"It took me six months to get her to date me. Six f*****g months, and she hasn't even allowed me to see her panties, talk more of sleeping with her."
It felt like someone poured cold ice over me because Hudson was the one speaking.
"If it wasn't for my parents, who were so obsessed with me dating a good girl, I wouldn't even consider her. She's mid."
Hudson continued talking, and everyone around him was laughing uncontrollably.
"Right now, all I want is to take her virginity and dump her. I really want to know what it feels like f*****g a virgin."
I didn't need anyone to tell me he was talking about me.
I had no idea when tears started rolling down my cheeks.
It felt like someone had pulled out my heart from my chest. I was in so much pain.
I walked out of there, and all I could hear was Hudson calling me mid. I could barely hear the music anymore.
My vision was already blurred with tears as I tried to stop a taxi, but thankfully one stopped in front of me immediately.
I got in and gave him the address of my hotel.
I pulled out my phone. My hand was shaking uncontrollably. I could barely see my screen.
I finally found my mom's number.
It rang once... then twice...
She picked up after the third ring.
"Mom..."
"Hi, baby," she said, her voice bubbly.
"Mummy, he doesn't love me."
"What?"
"Hudson," I said, sobbing profusely. "He doesn't love me. I'm not even sure if he likes me. I'm done... I'm done with all of this."
"Olivia, what do you mean by you're done?" my mother said, her tone strict.
"Mom, did you hear anything I just said? Hudson doesn't give a damn about me."
"You are keeping yourself for Hudson, and you are going to get married to him. Are you listening to me? He is going to be Alpha soon, and you are going to be his Luna. That is all that matters."
"Mom..."
Immediately, the line went dead.
She didn't allow me to say anything else.
It felt like a dam was ripped open in my chest.
I cried until we got to my hotel.
On my way to my room, I took off the stupid heels I had on and walked barefooted.
I had cried so hard my throat felt sore.
I got to my room, fell on the bed, and cried for what felt like forever.
My mom didn't even care.
Why didn't she care?
I clenched my fist and pushed myself out of bed.
"He wanted to use me for my virginity, huh?" I mumbled as I raided my closet.
Well, it was his loss.
I pulled out a lingerie set, something I thought would never see the light of day.
I held it up and smiled.
"Well, I was losing my virginity today.”
