I stood watching Hayden, Zak, and Milo fighting with one of the huge monsters. And I mean an actual monster. This thing was the stuff of nightmares, like it had been plucked straight from someone’s dreams and I was powerless to do anything. I felt weak after what my body had just been through. Nana wrapped a blanket around me and I pulled it tight around myself, wishing and praying that Hayden would be safe. That my brothers would be safe.
“Stay inside here. Do you understand me? He’s close!” Nana was pushing me further back so I couldn’t see much.
What I could see though, was one of the monsters. He was behind Hayden and he didn’t have a clue.
