4 Chapter Four – Hello Los Angeles One year later… Jess stretched out her limbs and glanced out of the window. Christmas Eve and it was still eighty degrees in Southern California. She laughed to herself and got out of bed, hearing voices in the kitchen of her condo. “You fiends had better not be eating all my food,” she called out as she tugged her robe around her and padded down the hallway. In her kitchen, four very guilty faces grinned back at her, and she laughed, rolling her eyes. “We didn’t eat much,” India said with a smirk. She was perched on Massimo’s knees, her arm around his neck. She was still recovering and was thinner than her usual curvy weight, but the color had started to come back into her skin now, and the relief of knowing she was finally safe also played a part.
