I stood there frozen and angry, as I held Neffi's lifeless body. I could hear the voices of everyone around me, even those that were coming out of the woods, but I ignored them. They weren’t important, nor did they matter. The woman I loved had been shot in the back with an arrow after being beaten so badly and no one helped. At that moment, all I felt was rage. I was ready to kill anyone who was involved, even if it was my own family.
Suddenly, I felt this need to scream building in my chest and as everyone began gathering around me, I released it, only it sounded more like a howl mixed with a growl. The wolf inside of me was angry and on the verge of going out of control.
