Chapter 11

2186 Words
Liam I woke up with Neffi still asleep in my arms. Finally, after years of pinning, she was my girlfriend. Not just my girlfriend but my mate. Although she had no idea what I was doing, hell I didn’t even plan on doing that, but after the whole Sam situation, I couldn’t help myself. I had to show her how much she meant to me and prove to Sam and everyone else, that Neffi was and would always be the only one for me. My crush on her started when we were children. It was Halloween and she was about to turn six. Everyone thought that she was going to be a princess because that was the costume that suited someone like her. After all, her parents were the richest people in our town and they all called her princess. Not to mention her name was that of an Egyptian Queen and she looked like royalty. However, that year she decided that she was going to be a pirate, because she said and I quote, “pirates are fun, princesses are boring. I don’t want to be a princess,” and that was the start of my crush. The crush only intensified as we got older and her body started to develop. A body that I hadn’t even begun to play with yet. She had beautiful butterscotch skin, long magical curly brown hair. Seriously, she cut it all the way off and it grew back longer in a week. An ass for days and breast that I wanted to burry my face in but resisted since it was her first time. It still amazed me that I was her first. I always wanted that to be the case. My friends said I was crazy for even considering her because she was out of my league. Rich girls only dated rich guys, and I was far from rich. My parents were a part of the middle class. We were comfortable but that was it. However, that didn’t stop my wanting. I wanted to be with her so bad that whenever I saw her with another guy, I would flip out and do something crazy to his car, locker, or send threatening messages telling them to break up with her or else. They never knew it was me. I even followed her to school, making sure to get into the same program as her, only for her to switch out most of her classes for everything related to criminology. I had planned on going into that field because I wanted to be a forensic scientist; however, now I had to wait until the school semester ended before switching over to that field. I didn’t intend to do any of this. It was something that just happened and kept happening because there was this presence inside of me that kept telling me that she was mine. That she belonged to me and that if anyone got in the way, I had to get rid of them. In the beginning, the voice freaked me out. Then, a few days after Neffi’s parents were murdered, I started having weird dreams. I was running in the woods at a very fast pace—only I was on my hands and knees. The moon was full, and I could feel the wind against my skin. It was amazing until I woke up and saw that I was naked in the woods under a tree. Luckily, no one saw me, so I was able to get back home without my parents noticing. The episodes kept happening up until I met Sam and my roommate, Sebastian, who told me that I was a werewolf. At first, I didn’t believe them, but then it happened again and this time Sebastian was there to greet me with some clothes to change into. It was embarrassing, but at least now I understood why I kept waking up in the forest and dreaming that I was running. Now I had some control over my wolf and an understanding of what I could do. Suddenly, Neffi turned towards me, eyes wide open and the brightest smile on her beautiful face. “Morning,” I said, with the same smile as her, overjoyed that she was mine. “Morning,” she said, from under the sheets. Her face had flushed a bright red, but she was still smiling. I laughed, then attempted to kiss her but she turned her head, avoiding it. “What?” I asked, feeling a bit hurt at the rejection. “I haven’t brushed my teeth yet,” she said, innocently. I let out a hearty laugh, “You’re right, so how about we go take a shower then have breakfast,” I said, it that way on purpose just to get the reaction she had given me right now. “Together?” She asked innocently. “We could, but there are still guys on this floor and the last thing I want is for them to see my girl naked,” I said, meaning every word, and feeling overly possessive. “I like the sound of that,” She said, as she stretched her arms. “ OK, so you go back to your room and I will meet you downstairs in the lobby in say an hour?” I asked. I didn’t really want to part with her. I wanted to keep her in that bed for the rest of our lives if possible, but I knew that wasn’t going to happen, at least for now. “Ok. I will see you in an hour,” She blushed. “Sounds good,” I said, finally allowing her to get up. She was still wearing my shirt, which wasn’t good enough for me. I wanted her completely naked, but somehow never got around to taking off the shirt. She quickly got dressed in her clothes but kept my shirt, which only gave me another reason to go to her room, then walked out the door. The moment she left, I practically leaped out of my bed and ran to my closet. I had finally done it. Nefertiti Hills was my girlfriend and now my mate. I had marked her, which meant that she belonged to me and only me. No one could take her away from me. Yes, we were almost killed the night before and she wasn’t really in the best place to date anyone, but hell I’d been waiting my whole life to be with this girl and, finally, after 12 long years of waiting, she was finally mine and there was nothing anyone could say about it. After taking care of my business in the washroom and showering, I got dressed, making sure to put on enough deodorant and cologne that wouldn’t overload the senses but kept her closer than arms reach to me. “Hooking up with Sam again,” my roommate Sebastian said, as he made his way into our room, which shocked the hell out of me. He was about 5’6, 5’7 but pretended like he was taller and kept a different girlfriend every week. “No. That’s over. Why are you here?” I asked, turning to give the freckled-faced mixed guy a once over. He, like always, was dressed in the latest appeal. “I live here,” He joked. “Funny. Didn’t you have plans with that Melody chick?” I asked, remembering the last thing he said before leaving the night before, about having his c**k buried in this girl all weekend in Hawaii. “Michelle, and I had to get the hell out of there. b***h was trying to introduce yo boy to her parents like I was her boyfriend, and you know how I feel about that s**t,” he said, reminding me of his different girl a weekend policy. “Yo fault I told you to stay away from that girl,” I reminded him about their first encounter. “Yeah, I wasn’t thinking, my c**k was doing the thinking for me,” he said, shaking his head. “So where are you headed, to meet your stalker?” he teased. “Actually, no, I’m meeting this girl I went to high school with,” I said, nonchalantly, and within two seconds he was in my face. “Is it that girl you’ve been obsessing over? Did you finally ask her out?” He asked, wide-eyed. The reaction was understandable and a long time in the making because I had told him about her and he tried to convince me to ask her out, but I had told him she had just lost her parents and needed space; however, all I talked about was her and how beautiful she was. “First, you’re too close, and second, I asked her out yesterday and after we were attacked by werewolves again she agreed to be my girlfriend,” I threw that last part in just to see his reaction. After the first attack, he told me that I needed to be careful. He and Sam were what you called Omega wolves. It wasn’t by choice. Apparently, they were from the same pack, but one night while everyone was sleeping, it was attacked, and the majority of their pack was wiped out by a bigger one. Those who were left fled into the night but stayed together, hiding amongst humans, while others were taken back and kept as slaves for the bigger pack. It was hard to believe that something like that actually happened in the times that we lived in, but it was a different world than what I was used to. At age 2, I was adopted by this amazing family and only knew what it was like to be human. “You were attacked? By who? Was it that same pack and how did you get away did another light appear?” He asked, with a look of worry on his face. I shook my head, “It was the same pack. I still don’t know why they attacked me. Apparently they are looking for someone who looks like me. As for how I got away, yes, another light appeared. It was weird. I felt my wolf try to come out but I remembered what you said about hiding, so I kept him at bay. It's getting harder to keep him at bay, especially when it involves Neffi,” I said, allowing the rage of my wolf to manifest a bit on my face. “Do you think it’s possible that the person they are after is apart of your family?” He asked. I shrugged, “I don’t even know who my real parents are or why they gave me away, if it was their idea or if it was forced. Either way, I don’t care. I’m not interested in finding them. I just want this pack to leave me the hell alone so I can enjoy my life and be with Neffi,” I said, meaning every word. “I understand, but you know you can’t stay with her. You can date for a while but our kind don’t mix well with humans,” Seb said, for the hundredth time. I rolled my eyes, “I don’t care about these stupid rules. I’ve already marked her as mine. My wolf claims her as mine, therefore no one can tell me otherwise,” I said, feeling the urge to beat the hell out of my friend. “What? You marked a human? Do you have any idea what you have done?” Seb yelled. “Yes, I’ve claimed her so no one else can,” I growled and Seb lowered his gaze and his voice, which was weird considering I had no rank. “I understand that you like her, and your wolf may claim her, but you just put her in harms way by doing that. Do you want to lose her?” He asked calmly. “How?” I asked, confused by his statement. “Does she know what you are?” Seb asked. I shook my head, “I’ll tell her when the times right,” I assured him.” “I’d tell her now before she finds out another way,” he said, sternly, but not meeting my gaze. I shook my head, “It’s not time,” I said, because I wanted to enjoy our time together before I said anything about what I had just learned I was. Then there was the thought of her parents, who were murdered by what I believed was a werewolf, and the last thing I wanted was for her to think that I had anything to do with it. I think that was the real reason I wasn’t ready to tell. “OK man, you do you, just remember what I said,” Seb said, before walking out the room leaving me standing there confused, but firm in my thoughts. It didn’t matter what anyone said, I knew what was best for us and telling her the truth wasn’t it.
