The General of the Dungeon had earned a new Title. As far as he knew, no one had the Red Dragon title yet. And even though he was more concerned with more important things, it brought him comfort to know that it would aid in his quest and that he would keep it regardless for defeating 18 Mini Bosses in one day.
He took another swig of the blue potion to replenish his HP and took a moment to take in what this meant. He raised his swords and looked at them, they were glowing red. The gauntlet on his left arm which he received as a Level 50 Adventurer and that too had lit up flashing a brilliant red. Smiling at what he was seeing, the now Red Dragon gripped the swords and stepped forward to signal that he was ready. Goddess Luna was giddy inside after the announcement. Her Dragon had arisen. The Red Dragon, which meant so much to them both and she flushed thinking about it feeling a twinge inside her. Hiding the urge to press her thighs together, she strode to the table to top up her wine. Things were getting exciting now and she couldn’t wait for them to end. The growl shook the empty room as Sir Damon stood tall and ready for the next Floor Boss. And in honor of his accomplishment, the Goddess announced the next song, “Play, Bring me to Life by Evanescence.” The engineers who had seemed to lose their fear of what happened next and began trusting her judgement were all too eager. They realized that she knew how to motivate the General to do things unheard of. And after them asking how she knew what to do to get him to succeed she responded, “To quote Jane in the last Tarzan movie, ‘An ordinary man can do the impossible for the women he loves,” she tilted her head at them. “Mine, is no ordinary man.” She smiled broadly at the statement, her mind swirling with emotions and physical longing to have him with her, needing his touch. The piano started playing and the Red Dragon immediately reacted to the song. His stance shifted and his breathing changed. He was ready for whatever was coming and taking the Goddess Luna back home. The growl grew louder and the room felt like it was shaking. A small stone fell from the ceiling and he looked up to find an enormous bat like Demon clawing to the ceiling. Another rock fell and hit his shoulder and it screeched as it expanded its absolutely massive wingspan. It must have been six- or seven-meter wingspan easily. The horror continued as the growl grew louder and a Giant Orc, easily over 4 meters tall appeared where the other monster came from. It carried a War Hammer that it dragged on the ground and growled at the General. The song was already half way through as the crew in the control room realized that this was not going to be a quick one either. The Red Dragon made a rash decision knowing that he would not be able to do it in the next fight. He would have to use his magic again. But this time he’d have to change it up. And the Bat Demon remained on the ceiling as the Giant Orc charged in. Sir Damon waited for the War Hammer to come down to dodge it then struck using his newfound power and watched the strength drain more than it had with the Mini Bosses. He immediately made the decision to use the Magic on the Bat Demon and fight the Orc head on. Dodging each swing and each stomp, he swung violently at the Orcs body and legs. Digital blood spayed everywhere and he rolled and ducked out of the way to avoid getting hit. As he saw that the HP gauge of the Orc was nearing its end, he began to chant…
“Fire from the sun, Ice from the Stars, grant me your strength.”
He swung again and drove both sword into a leg which sent the beast into a rage to protect the last of its HP. It swung the Hammer down again and Sir Damon dived to avoid it. He continued…
“Grant this humble form the strength of the Old Gods.”
Standing now he dashed at the nearby rocks to launch himself into the air and plunge his sword into the Orcs’ chest. It cost him some HP but the Giant was defeated. And with that end, the Bat Demon screeched and dived down from his perch and tried to claw at the General. Diving out of the way it flew overheard, the Demon cried out and circled to attack. Standing to finish his chant, Sir Damon sheathed his right sword and extended his open hand to aim it at the Demon diving towards it.
“Unleash the flames of the Sun and the Ice from the Heavens, Dual Calamity!”
And with those words, his spell combined with his new power of the Red Dragon, a stream of fire and ice flowed intertwined like a rope from him as he stood his ground. The Bat Demon was grounded and flapped its wings furiously trying to get away. He allowed his Magic to empty itself watching the HP gauge of the Demon deplete and as the spell expired, the Demon screeched trying to flap away and recover. Sir Damon immediately withdrew his right sword and speared it into the Demon to keep it grounded then charged forward and slashed the remainder of its HP away with his left sword still in hand. The Pixels began to light up the room and the audience in the main Tavern and the Main Hall of the Guild not only could not believe that the General had that kind of Magic but that he had just defeated the fifth Floor Boss after defeating 18 Mini Bosses.
A c***k appeared in the wall to his right a chest was uncovered. Supplies no doubt and the adventurers and audience in the streets cheered and danced in celebration. He took a swig of cold water, it was so refreshing. The potions replenished his Magical and HP gauges and he was ready for the next bout. Wiping his mouth and gripping his swords, he took position facing the wall where all the other foes appeared, occasionally glancing upwards for an aerial attack.
“Time to reward him, play Legends Never Die by Against the Current,” said the Goddess Luna taking a deep sip breathing in the delight of the wine in anticipation of soon being rescued by the man fighting for her. The engineers complied the codes needed and snacked on burgers and soda that they’d brought down. Their nerves were gone and now enjoying the show, Sir Damon had won their faith in him and they could not wait to see what came next. The song played loudly in the Dungeon and in the taverns. The audience say along raising their drinks and their weapons. He focused his thoughts and the swords in his hands began to glow a deep crimson. The next Floor Boss was all that stood in his way before facing the Dragon. And after he defeated the Dragon, he would take his prize. The Goddess Luna. A roar erupted throughout the dungeon halls and shook the room violently. His balance threatened, the General stood firm and took a defensive stance.
The Beast continued to roar and stones from the ceiling began to fall. The Demon of the Dark World, Ogregious, created by Sir Damon himself that was defeated by a Hero in the stories he had written was standing before him. His design was exactly as he wrote in his books and he cursed Anne for reading and studying them. The Demon had diamond-like black scales and a snake like head. Its reptilian eyes squinted knowing that it was about to fight and its four limbs ended in razor sharp diamond hard claws. Sir Damon wasn’t sure if she had designed his specs according to his book, even though if history severed as a reference she surely did, then he was in some serious trouble. And on top of that, it also meant that the Dragon he had to face may also be the one he wrote about in his books. And for the first time that day, the General of the Dungeon had a spike of fear.
