Robert POV
I called the head of the council and set up the emergency meeting. Emergency meetings were hardly called unless it was important. I feared that our home was going to come under attack soon. I felt in my very bones that we need to train the troops and possibly call in allies. I just hoped they would listen to what I have to say. I even had Officer Nelson come with me to verify my words. My anxiety was through the roof I knew that sleeping was going to be a moot point but I had to try. That night I laid in bed next to my lovely wife Melinda.
I got up the next morning with maybe 5 hours of sleep under my belt. The meeting was going to be held at 11 which was in 3 hours. I went down to the kitchen where my chef was cooking breakfast. After I ate I went back to my office to make sure that all the paperwork was there including the police investigations. I went back to my bedroom to get my black council robes and teleported to the meeting.
I walked into the room looking calm cool and collected while on the inside my nerves were through the roof. I walked up to the podium that was there for those who wished to approach the council which also included council members. The head council member spoke asking why I had called this meeting.
[1] why are we here. We have other things to do so this had better be important Robert.
[Robert] It is I firmly believe that in the near future we will be at war. I have reports of my people going missing. While that isn’t cause to involve the council,l it is the way my people have gone missing.
[2] how is the way they have gone missing any of our concern. Please tell us that this is not a waste of time.
[Robert] They were taken to another planet. There is evidence that Blytheria is taking our citizens. It has come to my attention that the Blythe are behind the kidnappings. Have any of you gotten any cases of mysterious disappearances where a body nor the person can be found?
[3] They are trivial at best. They are filled with speculation and assumptions and of no concern of ours. Do you really want us to go to war on those?
[4] I don’t. Even if we did, I feel that would be a waste of Abilitator lives and funds.
[Robert] I have one more part to bring up. Some years ago, A hunter came to me and asked for a little assistance for confirmation which I gladly gave. It turned out that they were after the Blytherian King. I believe they were not successful because I never heard back from them. They were supposed to keep me in the loop. May I remind you that Hunta is the next planet to us.
[5] You’re grasping at straws there Robert. You brought cases and a story about a hunter. To start a war you need something more. I do not see justifying a war over these things.
[Robert] What about an investigation? Can we at least start one? I believe there is sufficient enough evidence to start an investigation into this matter.
[1] Its hardly necessary in my professional opinion. There is just too little to go on.
[Robert] But if I am right and you guys did nothing to help our citizens then we have failed as a council to do our job in protecting our people.
[1] But if we are right then we have wasted precious resources and time.
[Robert] Resources are replenishable but lives can never be replaced.
[1] Then if you feel that strongly about it then you do it. You start the investigation. This farce of a meeting is adjourned.
I left fuming. They completely dismissed my claims and made me look foolish. I just know that the war will come I just hope that the council gets their heads on straight before anyone gets hurt. I teleported home and my wife knew immediately that I was angry. She tried her best to calm me down which only took the edge off. I began to put plans in place to protect my people as much as I could. I implemented a curfew and added more hidden soldiers 24 hours a day throughout my province. I just hoped it would slow them down. This worked for a short while but it kicked back up again. I also had my brother Brandon send scouts to space to keep an eye out for any Blytherian ships that might come in. I had gone to the council several more times with new evidence but with the same result. I knew that I had sufficient evidence against the Blythe but they stuck their heads in the sand never acknowledging what is in front of their noses. I just hope that it wont be our downfall. I also hope that despite the councils efforts that we will be ready for war when it comes.
