I met up with Jade at the airport.
When I spotted her, her personal merman was feeding her ice cream, and a smudge of it was stuck at the corner of her mouth. That blonde hunk leaned straight in and licked it clean, and that got Jade giggling softly.
Right beside me, Caleb's eyes flickered with curiosity. He didn't blink once, fixated on what the guy would do next, as if he had just stumbled through the door to a whole new world.
When Jade caught sight of Caleb next to me, she wiggled her eyebrows and asked where Ronan was now.
I replied coolly, "Got him sent back. Who knows where he'll end up as fish sashimi, right?"
She got the meaning immediately, smacked her lips, and sighed. "What a shame. He wasn't bad-looking, just had terrible eyesight, couldn't read the room at all."
