Bob Chikos has won FOCAL Award for Best Children’s Book about California for Come the Morning; Golden Spur Award for The Last Run; Oscar for Best Short Documentary for The Redwoods; Oscars for Best Feature Documentary for both The Long Way Home and Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport. Mark Jonathan Harris is Los Angeles writer and filmmaker, who has written both adult and children’s fiction, and written, directed, and produced numerous documentary films, including three which won Oscars. He also teaches filmmaking at the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, where he is a Distinguished Professor. Caroline Taylor is the author of five mysteries and one short-story collection. She is a member of the North Carolina Writers’ Network, Sisters in Crime, and Mystery Writers of America. Scott Cumming has been published at The Daily Drunk, Punk Noir Magazine, Versification, and Shotgun Honey. Lee Matthew Goldberg is the author of the novels The Ancestor, Slow Down, The Mentor from St. Martin’s Press, The Desire Card, Orange City, and the Young Adult series Runaway Train and Grenade Bouquets. She lived for many years in Spain, Mexico, Cuba, and Nicaragua, and spent time in North Vietnam during the last months of the U.S. war in that country. She has written extensively on her experiences abroad and back in the United States, and has taught at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and other colleges. Laura Benedict is the Edgar- and ITW Thriller Award-nominated author of seven novels of suspense. On the lighter side of mystery, Laura wrote Small Town Trouble, a cozy crime novel, for the Familiar Legacy series. Her Bliss House gothic trilogy includes: The Abandoned Heart, Charlotte’s Story (Booklist starred review), and Bliss House.
