Chapter 20
Maverick gave Lucky the hand signal to guard. Even with Galvez and Fey planted in places where they could watch for any approaching trouble, they had decided to bring Lucky with them as further backup. It was something they did on occasion when they thought it was warranted. Lucky was trained to bark if he sensed trouble, and then to aggressively drive the person away from whatever door or window the team members had used to gain entrance to a home or building. That had happened only once, when a couple arrived home early. Lucky had managed to corner them in their garage while Maverick and Tripp made good on their escape.
Now the dog was sitting close to the back door, well hidden from view behind the bushes under one of the windows.
