Chapter 38 AFTER WORKING LATE one night going over the case, Melissa invited me back to her place for dinner. I noticed the place was like a fortress, with solid reinforced front and back doors, dead bolted windows fitted with toughened glass and a high-tech alarmed security system. Melissa was super careful after her previous home invasion experience. Who could blame her? I met her little boy, Bobby, who was only five years old. The family home was full of pictures; a warm, inviting and comfortable place. Memories of Melissa’s dead husband were strong in the house. Bobby was quiet and sad; I figured he missed his dad.
