Chapter 39 RYAN’S LATEST LETTER involved a request for Leonard’s creative imagination to come up with a suitable punishment for a s*x addict who was constantly cheating on his wife. Ryan justified it by writing that a close friend of his was suffering because of her s*x fiend husband. Leonard was increasingly concerned that Ryan might do more than just imagine what to do with all the addicts he kept talking about in his letters, so he decided that this time in his return letter, he would question Ryan about his motives and actions. But still, Leonard couldn’t help himself, because he so enjoyed the thrill and the challenge of thinking of ways to punish these people for their pathetic, weak addictions. So he put his mind to work anyway, imagining an appropriate treatment for The Cheater.
