Chapter 40 MELISSA AND I WORKED late again, and it turned into another home-cooked dinner and more fun for me hanging out with Bobby. I was getting a glimpse of what a domestic life could be like, how good it could feel to be in a nice house full of warmth and enjoyment, instead of the harsh reality of life on the streets. I knew I would never go back out there, to being homeless, and couldn’t believe I had done it for so long. I resolved never to relapse, not now that I knew how glorious life could be with the right person in the right circumstances. However, I also realise how unprepared I am for life as a husband and a father. I’d had my share of fun with girls, had my time at college, but my wealthy parents, my privileged upbringing, and constant access to money when I was growing up
