Chapter 44 THIS WAS SERIOUSLY intimidating. A pair of fully black, dead-looking eyes containing absolutely no trace of white were staring at me. The guy facing me had obviously been on the street for a long time; he was covered in tattoos and piercings. He’d even taken things to a whole new level by getting the whites of his eyes tattooed completely black and they now stared blankly at me like a real-life horror movie. I was in a needle exchange centre, investigating the syringe I’d found at Sally’s crime scene.
