August's P.O.V
"Hey, do you know where Sarah lives?"
My head slowly turned to the nervous Pharsa. Her fingers bumped into each other. Her eyes never meeting mine but she was resolute in finding out. I close the book I was reading and crossed my legs. Yes, I do read books, especially romance genres. I'm learning new things on dating.
"We could find out?"
"Ah, no, no, I'm good. Forget I asked."
She turns around, hesitating to ask again. I took the initiative.
"I used to follow Rafaela at home, to make sure she was safe."
But I didn't. That was a lie but she doesn't know that. She doesn't know that took Rafaela home the first day we met each other. Again, she doesn't know that. I've come to realize how gullible people who are crushing on someone is. It's funny because I was one not too long ago.
Pharsa took no time to waste and turned her heels back to me. Her face brightened up and a widespread smile was on her face. Her usually sullen and scowling face was now dazzling. My assumptions were correct. She had built up a crush on Sarah.
"Really? How did it go? Did she know? I mean, did you tell her now?"
I wonder if Rafaela will go with this once she knows of this.
"Yes." was all it takes for her to explode.
"Okay. I'll follow her!"
I cleared my throat.
"I thought you swore to find a man?" I couldn't help but bring out.
She stops dead in her tracks and stopped breathing.
"Oh, shut up."
"Ah, there you are. Have fun."
"Hmph."
She disappears out of my sight in just a second. She must've teleported outside, not bearing the embarrassment of her telling me that she was wrong about herself. Ah, Pharsa and her pride. I'm happy that she's over me at this point. I guess I should thank Sarah without her notice. Without her, I know I'll be fighting this war alone. Pharsa can be hard to persuade most of the time.
Pharsa knows that my mind won't change no matter what actions deities of Olympus will do. It's either Pharsa hands me to Olympus or she either stays here and protect her crush. But Pharsa knows that I can easily defeat her.
"I guess it's time for me to meet Rafaela."
I teleport to her house. She was just out of the bath. There was a towel wrapped around her while she hums an unfamiliar tune. She was completely oblivious of my presence. She sways her hips to the side, dancing. She was drying her hair with another towel.
She was still wet from her shower. Her towel only covered on her upper thigh so her legs were in complete view. I know I've seen everything before but this still gets me excited. I was thankful I'm not Austin right now, otherwise I'd be raging.
She turns around and saw me. She flinches and walked to me. She steps pinches my side that made me yelp. That was so not predictable. When she confirmed that I was real, she hums again and ignored me.
"You're going to ignore your girlfriend?"
"Mhmm, hnn, hn, la, la, laaa," I scoff and sat on the edge of her bed.
I watch her as she completely dries her body off. She seductively drops her towel on the floor. My eyes instantly glued themselves on her body. Her breasts, her shaven core. They were all delicious to look at, but at this moment, she was putting on a show for me and I should watch every single second with no interruption.
"Mhmm," she moan-sings, teasing me more.
I bite my lip. She puts on some lotion on her body. She brought out her right leg, stepped on her cabinet. She looks at me as she puts some lotion on her leg. It was the typical eye thing. You know, her head isn't faced to me but her eyes are on me. I stared her down.
She was testing my self-control and that I have so much about. She said it herself. I could've r***d her the first night I spent here, but I didn't. I have that much self-control.
She continues on the other leg and stared at me again.
"You're not going to apply them evenly at this point." I pointed out a fact that I know she knows too.
"Tired of me already?" she asks, stopping her little show and doing her necessities properly.
"I can show you self-control and wild at the same time." she giggles, knowing exactly that I can do that.
When she was done preparing herself, she sits next to me.
"You're a little early."
"I had a fun interaction with Pharsa this morning."
"Really? Like what?"
"Well, you'll know later. Let's go?"
"Hmm, alright."
We teleported to the town, where we were all meeting. Rafaela and I walk hand in hand to exit the alley that I teleported us to. We were going to wait at the cafe that Rafaela and I went first on our date.
"I remember our date."
"It was my first date, you know." I tell her.
The people were bustling through the busy streets of the town. People passing by one another, phones on their hands, talking and even shouting. It was busier than usual. I wasn't used to this. Amidst all this, I got dizzy and nauseous. I squeeze Rafaela's hand, afraid that I might get lost in the sea of people.
"You okay?" she asks and grabs my shoulder, breaking our intertwined hands.
"Uh, just a bit overwhelmed." she looks around.
"It is kind of busy today."
"Mhmm," I hum in agreement.
I look around too, almost regretting it if I hadn't sensed Pharsa far beside us, feeling the same way I did. The Underworld only have three flesh entities in there. Hades and his family. It's a first for Pharsa too. If I was feeling like this, she'd be feeling worse. Olympus has more deities than the Underworld.
"Let's hurry." she tells me and helps me get through the busy crowd.
Once we were at the entrance of the cafe, Rafaela asked if I was okay.
"Yeah, just light-headed is all."
"Are you sure?"
"Don't worry. I'm okay. It was a first. Olympus didn't have that many moving around at the same time."
"Don't you usually hold balls? Parties?" I chuckled at her innocent question.
"We're not party goers. We've had a few feasts before, but that's it. Distance was to be followed around me."
"Does that apply to everyone including you or?" I grinned a toothy one.
"I'm the rule breaker." she purses her lips and nodded her head once stiffly.
"Yep, I can see that."
Before I could protest, Sarah arrived. Pharsa being near should've meant that Sarah was near, but I was too preoccupied with the overwhelming pressure that I didn't think of that.
"Hey!" she greets us with a charming smile.
There was no joke when they said that the trio are beautiful people. With Earl's masculinity and both the girls' femininity, they're bound to attract the others. They were like walking masterpieces. Rafaela is the exotic yet friendly one while Sarah has a more darker yet approachable aura around her. Sarah tends to keep to herself when the other two aren't around but she can still communicate with the others.
When me and Mine came in their life, they instantly warmed up to us.
"You're chirpier than usual." I commented.
"Really? Must be because I'm wearing new clothes."
Or Pharsa did something. I peer my eyes to the side and saw how Pharsa was smiling to herself like a creep. Hiding from her objective.
"Wow! You look great in them!" Rafaela commented. They were instantly conversing in a conversation that I do not follow.
They were talking about how it looked so fashionable, so cute and so good at her. Who the maker and where she bought it and stuff. A few minutes passes by and I see Earl jogging towards us.
"Yo, sorry I'm late."
"Let me guess, overslept?" we did our handshake.
"Man, you get me. Glad to have you. Truth be told, when they're talking about THAT kind of conversation, I'm always left out." I giggled.
"Well, I'm glad too that I'm not alone."
The two finally acknowledged Earl's presence and greeted him.
"Shall we go inside?" Sarah asks.
"Actually, I was thinking of inviting another person over. Is that okay?"
The trio looked at each other.
"Sure, why not." Earl answers.
"Thanks. Wait for a moment."
I cleared my throat and talked to Pharsa telepathically.
Come here, Pharsa. They said they're okay with it.
The heck? No way!
You want me to use divine command on you?
Ugh, fine.
I turn to the three and smile at them.
"She'll arrive shortly."
"She? Is it Pharsa?" Rafaela asks.
"Gods have it differently. No signal is required." Earl claps his hand in amazement.
"Why didn't she come with you guys?" Sarah ass.
"Uh-huh, it's Pharsa. She was shy and I didn't invite her this morning. I was afraid you would say 'no'. Thank you for the compliment." I answered all of them in one breath. At the end of the sentence, I had to breath in air and calm my palpitating heart.
"Yo, chill." Earl laughed and patted my back.
"I am. Wait. It would look completely weird if it's only you that's a guy with four girls."
Sarah nods and Rafaela nods too. Earl looks around and saw that people were staring at us.
"Should I change into a girl?" Sarah gave him a whack in the head.
"Are you an i***t? Do you think you're a god or something?"
"Ow. Did you have to hit me?" they started bickering again.
"I think you should." Rafaela tells me, ignoring the two as always.
"Alright, wait."
I find a dark spot to transform into and went back to the others. Pharsa was already there, to my surprise. They were talking, even Rafaela wasn't an exclusion. They were smiling while Pharsa remained stagnantly awkward and nervous.
"Yo," I pat Pharsa's head, commending her for her courage to finally face her crush after she realizes her feelings.
"You're going to ruin my hair." she swats my hand away, making me chuckle.
I take Rafaela's hand in mine.
"We're complete. Let's go inside?" Sarah asks.
"Yeah, I'm hungry." Earl says.
"You're always hungry." Sarah answers him.
We went inside the cafe one by one.
"I need to feed these babies." Earl referred to his muscles. He flexes his arms, like we could see it through the coat and jacket.
"I swear you're a blockhead."
Pharsa remained silent behind us. We settled down at a table and a waiter came to us. Thankfully, we had everything pre-ordered in our minds so the waiter doesn't have to come back later.
"I don't know what I want." Pharsa mumbles to herself.
Her lack of spite made me wonder if she was really Pharsa. She used to be so feisty, so strong and aggressive. Is this her girly side? She wasn't like this when she was with me?
"You could get the same as mine. It was what I first ordered when I first came here." Sarah suggests genuinely with a smile.
"Okay, I'll get what she's having." Pharsa timidly tells the waiter.
"Alright. I'll be back with your orders."
"Thank you, kind waiter." I tell the waiter and his smile went wider before walking away.
"Why do you always do that?" Earl asks.
"About what?"
"The compliment?"
"Ah, his life is already hard enough. It never hurts to put a smile on somebody's face."
"So sweet." Rafaela leans on me.
"Ack, I'm single. GO away." Sarah turns her head to the side and saw Earl's face. Sarah turns the other way and looks at Pharsa.
"See?" I whisper to Rafaela and gestured to Pharsa's passionate gaze.
"Ooh, I totally see it." Rafaela nods multiple times subtly.
Earl saw us whispering to each other and followed our eyes. He smiles to himself, realizing what we meant.
"Woah, you have nice eyes." Sarah complimented out of nowhere, catching Pharsa off guard.
"Oh, uh, thanks. I think you have more beautiful set of brown."
That a remarkable attempt to flirt. I wanted to tell Pharsa that, but she had to look and sound confident to actually mean more than friendly intentions. I need to give her a proper education when it comes to flirting with the same gender. It may not be the same as the ones that I used, but it can be similar.
"Can you help my friend?" I whispered to Rafaela.
"Of course I can." she whispers back at me, making me feel grateful.
Rafaela clears her throat, getting ready for what she may unfold. A preparation and a hint that Pharsa should also prepare. Earl had an amused grin on his face.
"Man, I can't believe I'm single and I'm the most handsome." he whispers to himself but I heard him.
"Say, Sarah."
"Hmm?" Sarah hums in response to Rafaela's call, whipping her head to Rafaela, focusing all of her attention.
"Pharsa's still new here, mind if you show her around and show her the ropes?" Rafaela maintained professional, a stoic and friendly approach.
I see what Rafaela is doing. She's trying to place a path for Pharsa and it's up to Pharsa for taking a leap, challenging Pharsa's courage. It's up to Pharsa now, and I am rooting for her with all my heart. Others could easily find partners but it was different for some, like me and Pharsa. I don't really know about Mine's love life since she's afraid of making a mistake.
Ah, here I am again. I keep mentioning her like she's here beside me, walking with me and talking with me. I forgot that I did her wrong and that I have no right in mentioning her like I'm forgiven for what I've done. I still need to figure out what's inside me and what truth lies behind the curtains that my father decided to cover me with.
I have so many questions, so many mysterious that I think I want a break first before diving in into the great unknown. Things like this from time to time is good. I shouldn't be complacent as problems may arise anytime but still, enjoying moments are great too.
"Oh, yeah. I forgot. I can show you around."
I knew it. Sarah discarded Pharsa's compliment as a friendly one. What other explanation is there for staying composed? Sarah wasn't even moved.
"Wow, so responsible." Earl applaud Sarah with mockery painted all over his face.
"Is that mockery I hear?" Sarah asks, and they started bickering again.
"What? I didn't say nothing."
"You did and I heard it."
"Gurl, you're putting words in my mouth."
In the midst of all their bickering, I see Pharsa feeling down.
"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom." I tell Rafaela and Pharsa since they were the only ones paying attention to the world.
I went to the restroom and splashed my face with water. How I wish all I cared about was cat fights and not some blood shedding war. It was getting to me how they were so carefree and so normal, unlike me who had to choose blood-involving decisions to get my 'normal'. I'm even surprised that I haven't cowered in guilt and regret yet.
Well, I had already given myself to Rafaela. I'm in her care. I may be worrying about this right now but when I'm with Rafaela, all my mind could think about is her and my heart won't stop at anything to feel sad or something negative.
I check my image on the mirror. I look so tired, overthinking things isn't my specialty. I could see it in my eyes that I'm tired, and hell-bent. From my peripheral vision, Pharsa walks past me and leans her back on the sink.
"I think Sarah likes Earl." she was flat honest with me. It would be rude of me to lie and not give her the same honesty.
"Honestly, I think you should ask her yourself."
"We've barely talked to each other properly and I was so rude at the beginning."
I splashed my face with some water again.
"You shouldn't even be in here. This is the men's restroom."
"And you shouldn't be talking to yourself." ah, so this is what's she's doing afterall.
Others would deem me crazy, as I am talking to an invisible entity beside me. Thankfully, there was no one here but me. But that changed when Earl came inside and took a piss. I leer at Pharsa but she ignored me. She was too experienced to even feel shy around c***s anymore. We have been with way too many deities to even count.
"Hey, so about Pharsa." Earl zips his zipper as he turns to me and washes his hand.
Pharsa was right beside him as he talks about her. I hope it isn't something bad, or he'll really anger Pharsa for sure.
"What about her?"
I want Pharsa to know that none of them mean harm to her and her existence. Earl cares for others as much as Rafaela and Sarah does. They were that kind of trio.
"She likes Sarah, yeah?"
"You caught on fast." he giggles and whisks his wet hand at the floor, and looks at the floor, gawking at them as if they were precious.
"No one really knows they're being liked unless it's being slapped in their faces."
"Do you like Sarah?"
He turns to me like I had said the most untruthful thing ever. He grabs some tissue paper without leaving eye contact and wiped his hands dry, still not breaking eye contact and tossed them in the trash bin. That was an exaggeration beyond exaggeration.
"Where the f**k did that come from? No, man. I'm into someone else."
I see Pharsa head to the door. She waited to hear his answer before she left, and of course with a smile on her face.
"Ah, just heard that those who bicker all the time tend to fall for the other."
"Well, I'll introduce you to my crush soon. But right now, let's eat. I'm hungry."
"Aye,"
