The Lycan Queen

"Oh goodness." I groaned, grabbing my head. I woke to the sun shining in my eyes through the window. I drew the curtains closed with my powers, quickly shielding myself from the light. I hid myself under the covers and closed my eyes, willing myself to heal the hangover. A glow started pulsing through my veins, slowly but surely the symptoms eased away. "Ahh, much better." I thought to myself. I jumped out of bed and redrew the curtains open, putting a shirt and trousers on and pulling on some boots. No need to prance around fancy today. I headed out of my room as if on a mission. I linked my father to meet me in the strategy room. I rushed to the room, hoping I would get there before me. Once there, I opened the doors and breathed a sigh of relief to see he hadn't arrived yet. I walked over to my throne and took a seat, eagerly waiting for him. Before long, the door began to open and in he walked. "Father, so nice of you to join me." My tone was a little more evil than I had planned it to be. "What is it, Aurora?" He replied with boredom in his voice, as if I were wasting his time. "I want to ask you some questions." I was more direct this time, seriousness in my tone. "Get to the point, Aurora. Questions about what?" He snipped, clearly getting annoyed at me for even having to entertain me with his presence now. "Mother." I watched as his eyes grew wide and then stiffened, trying to regain his composure. "Aurora." He sighed and came to take the seat next to me. "You know it is a difficult subject for me." He almost muttered under his breath. "I need to know, father. I want answers." I pressed. "What answers?" He asked. "Where does my power come from?" I answered his question with my own. A stared into my eyes and let out a huge sigh. "I don't know." He admitted. "You started displaying your powers as a young pup, my dear." "Only Lycan's have powers," I admitted. He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Lycan's are a thing of myth, Aurora." He dismissed me. "Nothing but a bedtime story." He added. "But-" He cut me off waving his hand towards me. "Enough of this nonsense, Aurora. What about my answers?" he quickly changed the subject. Eyeing me carefully for my response. "I had time to mull over the ambush in the wagon on the way there. The pros outweighed the cons with a truce. Sure we could retaliate and cause more blood shed and continue the war on for another hundred years or so. Or, we could let this go. Live in peace and be happy for once. Also I questioned the intrusion and the fact that I received a exceedingly short time after. I thought to myself why? Why would he do that? At what gain? So, I calmed myself down, and accepted the truce. This gave me a chance to talk to him and guess what father. He knows nothing about it and now we have another enemy to find." I put my full confidence into my voice hoping this explanation would be enough to hide the truth. "You are a fool for believing such lies, Aurora." He gave a low growl. "So prove that I made the wrong decision then, Father." I taunted him, knowing full well he couldn't. He shook his head and stormed out of the room. Leaving me to my thoughts. "Think, Aurora." Sapphire echoed in my mind. "Where do you learn about myths?" Another echo. Then it came to me like a lightening bolt to my mind. I left the strategy room and headed downstairs. I looked around to see if any one was watching me, when I noted the coast was clear, I headed to a small door built into the staircase. I took one last look to make sure I wasn't seen and then quietly opened it and crept inside and closed the door behind me. It was darker than I remembered it. I held my palm in the air in front of me and forced my power into my hand, creating a luminous glow, lighting the way. I followed a tiny hallway that led to an old stone stair case. Making my way down the stairs, it opened up to a huge clearing. A giant hall filled with books and scrolls from floor to ceiling. I used to play down here as a child. I would always win hide and seek because of this hidden library. I forced a glowing orb high up into the air, lighting up the entire room. Thick sheets of dust covered everything as far as the eye could see. I closed my eyes and imagined the room in a clean condition like it used to be when I was a child. I focused my powers hard and visualized every detail I could remember. When I opened my eyes, the room looked just how I remembered it. Perfect and immaculate. I began strolling through the endless bookcases, each one filled with books. I started looking for all the books that started with the letter 'L', hoping I would come across a book titled Lycan's. I found nothing. I started looking through books that began with the letter 'M', searching for any titles starting with the word myth. Nothing. I sighed thinking about where I could find the information I needed when I noticed an old worn leather book. I pulled it off the shelf, the title read "The Moon Goddess." I opened the book and began reading through it. Then searched for anything about Lycan's. The book was only half way completed, and there was a recent addition to the last page of the book; it had been torn in half. I began to read it. "By the time you read this I will be gone. I found an infant pup, abandoned, floating in a beautiful wicker basket out in the river. I think she's a Lycan infant, she holds incredible power. If you find this, I hope I can give you the answers you seek. She was taken from me. He -" That was it, right up to where the page was torn. Could this be about me? Was I abandoned? So many questions flooded my mind. I started searching every inch of the library trying to find the missing piece. After a few hours of searching, I had completely scoured every inch of the room. There was nothing else to find. Not here at least. I tore the ripped page out of the book and stuffed it into my pocket. I pulled my glowing orb back into my hand and made my way out of the library. I quietly opened the door to the castle foyer, hoping not to arouse suspicion. There was no one in sight. I carefully shut the door behind me and headed back up the stairs to my quarters. When I was safely in my room, I pulled the paper back out of my pocket, sat on my bed and read it again. "Sapphire, what do you think this means?" I asked. "Hard to say without the rest of the page, Rory. It could be about us. The only way we will know for sure is if we find the missing piece," She replied. I looked back at the page and read it for a third time. "Wicker basket" "Saph, I think I remember seeing one of these before. It was on the top of one of the towers." I tried my best to remember and visualize a faded memory from when I was a child. I headed back out of my room and to the end of my quarters, slipping through the end door to the tower on my side of the castle. I began my ascend up the staircase. The towers were tall and the staircases were incredibly steep and long. After a while, I reached an old room at the top. It was filled with old toys and furniture that I remember from when I was a child. I began sifting through everything, scouring every piece for any evidence that the page was true. Eventually, I found the wicker Moses basket from my memory. It was beautiful, the inside was soft and cushioned. It looked like it was made from silk. The wicker weave was perfect, the entire basket was silver in colour though no part of it was made of metal. There was a rose made of wicker tied to the side of the basket. I noticed something sticking out of it. I pulled it out to reveal the missing piece I needed to finish reading the page. It had been tightly rolled up and pushed into the rose. I quickly unrolled the tiny paper scroll, revealing the missing words. I sat reading it. "'s going to kill me. He wants her for himself. He has no heir and he has no mate. She was never mine from birth but, know that I loved her, I would have cared for her, for the rest of my life. I came back for her but he's claimed her as his own daughter. I am just a loose end being tied up." Tears fell onto the page. I quickly folded it and placed it in my pocket with the other piece. My heart ached. My whole childhood was based on a lie. I fell backwards onto the floor, it felt as if the room were spinning. I wanted to be sick. What was I going to do? "Aurora, you need to meet me in your room now." Lilith's voice echoed through my mind. "Coming." I replied and made my way back down the tower and headed to my room. Lilith was already waiting for me sitting on my sofa at the foot of my bed. "Ahh good, your here. Close the door there is something we need to discuss." She motioned her hand quickly as if to rush me. I shut the door and took a seat next to her. She grabbed my hands. "Aurora, some of the staff have confided in me and told me that a hooded tall man has been kidnapping omegas from the pack. Your Juliette included." She barely whispered. "What?!" I yelled in shock. "Shh. Keep your voice down." She hushed me. " Aurora, they said the man smells human and they suspect he's getting help from a wolf, no less, to take these women." She whispered with disgust. My stomach turned and I began to fell faint. How could this happen? Under my nose? "Lilith, I want you to find out as much as you can and keep this to yourself for now. We cannot have such rumors spreading through the pack. It'll cause a panic and mass hysteria." I whispered back to her. She nodded to me and stood to take her leave. "And Lilith." she turned to face me, "Be careful." She nodded again and left my room. my mind began to unravel at the stress. Kidnapped Lycan Queen, Human invaders kidnapping she wolves and a dangerous mate bond between a Vampire King and a Werewolf Queen. The room began to spin. I needed to rest. I stood up from the sofa and climbed into bed letting go of the stressful thoughts and letting sleep take me away from my reality. - It was cold and dark. The fog weaved around me like smoke. "Where am I?" I whispered under my breath. I took in my surroundings. I am at the battlefield. Only it looks different now. There is a podium and a guillotine built in the center of the field. Its eerily quiet, I can't move. Why can't I move? "Aurora!" My father roared walking out of the tree line pulling something along the ground. "You disgust me!" He yelled as he walked up the stairs onto the podium. What was he dragging? Is that? Ajax! "You will pay for your crimes." as he grabbed Ajax and clamped him in to a guillotine. I can't move. I struggle under restraints screaming and crying as I writhe to free myself. It's no use, I am bound too tightly. A shift would tear my arms off. "Ajax!" I screamed to him. "Be strong, my sweet rose." Ajax muttered under his breath through tears. My father released the guillotine. "Nooo!" I screamed.
