Chapter 29: SickAsh lay on a blanket, holding her cramping stomach. “I don’t know if we ate too many or if they just weren’t ripe yet.”
“I’m never eating blueberries again,” Jon-Allen moaned.
Ash forced herself to sit up, fighting nausea. Kevin had his head on Dayna’s lap; she was leaning against a tree with her eyes closed. Matt and Jon-Allen were curled up on their blankets like cats.
Matt ran behind a tree and threw up.
The clearing they rested in had just enough room for all of them and their supplies. Ash dragged herself to the cooler, groaning at the stabbing pain in her belly. She pulled out five bottles of water and passed them out. Kevin shook his head and cried, but Dayna poured some water in his mouth before drinking her own share.
