Chapter 28: MoneyAsh and Dayna returned to the others after a few more minutes. They didn’t want anyone to worry, but Ash was sure none of them had a clue about what had just happened.
She gasped when she and Dayna stepped out onto the cliff-top clearing. Kevin was swinging a tree branch, and had Jon-Allen cornered against a boulder. Matt was trying to take the branch away.
“What did you do to my sister?” Kevin shouted.
Dayna ran towards them. “I’m right here!”
Kevin spun around and looked Dayna up and down. “I thought he made you sad and you ran away again.”
Ash didn’t know what she should be doing as Dayna took the stick from her brother and tossed it aside, so she shoved her hands in her pockets.
“Everything’s okay,” Dayna said.
Kevin sighed with relief.
“I told you,” Matt said.
