WAITING FOR HER

KAI

We got out of the school safely without being spotted again. I walked her home. She was silent and so was I. As we crossed the road, I held her hand and continued to walk. Like always she didn't noticed that I held her hand in mine.

" Your hand is MUCH more softer than the cotton." I complimented her.

" Hmm...." was her reply. She didn't even tried to argue with me over it. I thought she was in shock or something after this so I asked her.

" Hey !!! What happened to you ? You still want to hold my hand even after i told you i was holding it !"

" Why ? You don't want to hold my hand ? " she asked.

" I.....um...." She smiled as I tried to find the right words.

" Seems like you don't want to !" She stopped walking and released her hand from mine.

" Huh ? NO ! I WANT TO HOLD IT ! " I replied holding her hand and lightly dragging her to walk along with me.

" I don't believe this ! You want me to hold your hand ? Is it because I kissed you on forehead that you started loving me ?" I asked.

" Nope." She replied.

For some reasons, i didn't want to believe her but only she knows the truth.....the truth behind her sudden change.

JASON

I was taken aback when Giya asked me if I liked her. I told her the truth. I liked her ! But Giya isn't the type of girl who is interested in dating.

" Giya .....do you mind me asking something to you ?"

" No. Go ahead."

" I'm just curious ...... like you never talked about this ."

" About what ?" She questioned.

" About you know ......this."

" What ?"

" That I like you Giya !"

" Oh ! " finally realizing " Well.... Eddie confessed his feelings for me."

" WHAT ? WHEN ? WHERE ? HOW DARE HE ?" He scoffed.

Right at that moment, we heard a voice " Giya ! Sara ! I'm home !" It was her mom.

Giya ran to lock her bedroom door and told me to leave the room.

" But what's the big deal ? It's fine if I'm here. I usually come to your home. " I replied.

" I know. But have you seen the time ?" It's past 9 : 30. She would wonder why you are here late at night. "

" Then I'll say I came to meet Sara. "

" Sara ? SARA ? Oh no ! Sara is not home. " I cried.

" What ? Where did she go ?" I asked.

" She told me that she is meeting you. "

" But we didn't planned to meet today !" I answered.

Suddenly there was knock on the door.

" Giya . Are you alright ? You didn't came out to greet me." Her mom asked.

" Um.....I'm changing clothes. "

" Alright. Call Sara down and let's have the dinner together. Okay ?"

" Okay, Mom."

I heard footsteps going away which means her mom was going to her room. As soon as we heard the sound of her door closing. Giya opened the door, peek out of it and saw the road was clear. She holded my hand and led me towards the door.

" Come on ....Go now. Before she finds out you are here." She said pushing me towards the door.

" Okay. Okay. I'll leave but meet me tomorrow in the school. "

KAI

I walked with her to her house. She was still holding my hand and walking towards her house. I thought she was going to show me her house. But.....

" Okay. You can go now." She turned towards me.

" Yeah. I'll go but.....atleast tell me which one is your house."

She looked at the lane where the houses stood and smiled realizing that she still didn't completely showed me her house.

" The one with a garden is my house." She answered.

" But almost every house has it. Come on, Sara. Tell me ! Which one is it ?"

She sighed and gave another hint.

" The one which has no fence in the garden."

I looked around and found few of the houses doesn't have fence.

" Which one is it ?" I asked but she seems to ignore me.

I walked up to the house which has no fence and pointed towards it.

" This one ?" I asked. But she didn't even flinched over it. I walked up to every house which has no fence until there were only three houses left.

" This one ?" I pointed. She smiled but tried to hide it.

" Sara ..... come on ! You got to be kidding me ! Look ! If this is your home, I'll enter inside and greet your mom."

" Yeah. Sure. Go ahead." She replied confidently.

I walked the other two houses and asked which one was her's. But she didn't replied.

" Okay. You want to play games with me ? I'll also play with you. " I scoffed. I walked up to the door of one of the houses and looked at her if she reacted. She kept a poker face. I walked up to the last house and still she didn't moved a little bit.

" Okay....so you want to play it hard ? I know how to do it. You are not telling me which one is your house but I'll let the whole neighbourhood know that you are mine, Sara. " I cupped my hands on my mouth as if I'm gonna scream real hard when........

" Kai ! Please ! Don't ! " she screamed

" Ha ! That's what I like .....tell me which one is yours."

" It's not any of them. I just gave you wrong hints. "

" I KNEW IT !!! I KNEW IT !!! As a punishment.....you take me to your home. At least till the door."

SARA

I quietly took him to my house and we stood at the door.

" Here ! You came till the door. Now go home. "

" Atleast let me meet your mother. She should meet her future son-in-law." I said as I reach out for the door knob but before I can even touch it. The door opened on it's own revealing the people standing behind it. Giya and Jason......

All of us froze at that moment. We stared at each other trying to understand ' what was going on ? '.

" Sara ?" - Jason.

" Giya ?" - Sara.

" Jason ?" - Kai.

" Kai ?" - Giya.

All of us asked each other. There was another moment of silence. Until it was broken by mom.....

" Giya, can you heat up the food, please ? "

I and Giya shared a stare and hurriedly entered the house pushing Jason outside and slamming the door at their face.

We rushed to the kitchen to act as if nothing has happened.

KAI

Next day, I took Sara at the rooftop of our school. We sat there eating our sandwiches during our lunch break. I looked at her, she was munching her big bite.

" I'm going tomorrow." I told her. She stopped eating and gulped down the bite.

" Where? " she asked.

" I told you about the share. I need to be present there."

" Oh ! " she said sadly.

" Sara ...... can I ask for favour from you ? "

" Huh ? Yeah. Sure."

" Can you tell me your answer tomorrow?" I asked seriously.

" Answer ?"

" Can you tell me if......if you love me or......or not ? I need your answer tomorrow. It's fine even you reject me. I just need your answer. Sara......your answer will decide, my answer for someone."

" For whom ?" She asked.

" For someone. I just need your answer. I'll wait for you in the school tomorrow." I stared in her eyes to make her realize that I was being serious. She was confused and at the same time she was shocked.

GIYA

I was walking to my class when Eddie stopped my way.

" Hey , Giya !" He greeted.

" Hey...."

" You are going to class ? " He asked.

" Yes."

" Let me accompany you." He reach out for my hand but someone stopped him. It was Jason.

" Can't you just walk alone to the class ?" Jason asked.

" Who are you to tell me what to do ?" Eddie scoffed.

" I'm her boyfriend. " Jason replied proudly holding my hand in his. Eddie was shocked and confused. He looked at me for an answer and in reply, I nodded my head.

" Now you see ...... where you have to go ? Straight to the class. Alone !" Said Jason. Eddie walked away without a word. Jason turned to me and holded my face in his hands.

" Did you miss meeeee ?" Jason smiled.

" Oh my God ! Jason ! What's wrong with you ?" I asked.

" Why I can't touch my girlfriend's face ?" He asked happily. I blushed.

" But other students are watching us ..." I replied.

" Let them watch ! So that nobody dares to take you away from me "

We walked to every class together ...hand-in-hand. Even if he wasn't in my class, he would come to leave me right outside the classroom. Almost half the school and the whole cabinet was congratulating us for FINALLY BEING TOGETHER !!!!!!!!! But I was looking for Sara to congratulate me. After coming to school, I didn't found her anywhere .....not even in lunch break.

Once home, Sara hugged me tightly congratulating me for becoming Jason's girlfriend. We sat down to talk about the last night encounter with the boys. She told me that she is a bit confused as she has to give her ' Answer ' to Kai.

" But why tomorrow?" I asked.

" I don't know. He said that my answer will be his answer for someone else."

" What does that mean ? "

" I have no idea." She sighed.

We talked until mom came home and we ate our dinner and went to sleep. As I laid down on bed, I checked my phone. There were 26 messages and 15 missed calls from Jason. I replied to his text. We talked till late at night. Talking about almost everything in the world. Finally, we went to bed at 2 a.m. it was our first day dating and I was happy living this day.

SARA

Last night, I didn't slept well. Half the time, I was thinking if I should say ' Yes ' or ' No ' and it's not only about my answer. I should give him a reason for my particular answer. I wonder if he has slept last night..... I went to school and waited for Kai outside the school. I waited and waited.....but he didn't came.... I walked inside the school only to find him standing at the distance waiting for me with a smile. While other students walked past him, he alone stood there. I quietly walked up to him talking slow steps. Looking at me taking baby steps, he simply walked up to me. He stood in front of me dressed in his casual clothes.

" So....you are leaving now ?" I asked.

" Yeah ."

I nodded and found him staring at me. Looking for his answer.

" Uh.....I...I thought about it last night." I said.

" About what ?" He asked smiling.

" You know ....that ? "

" No. I don't. " He replied.

" Kai ! You---"

" Answer ! I came here for my answer. I got a flight to catch, Sara."

I rolled my eyes and didn't replied to him. That gesture of mine was to tell him that he made me angry but he took it in another way.

" Seems like .....you don't have my answer." He looked at me for a second and walked past me. I turned and called him.

" Kai !" He stopped in his way and turned to face me. I walked up to him. I stared in his eyes for a second and went in to hug him. He was shocked. I whispered in his ear " I love you, Kai ."

KAI

As she stood in front of me. She looked me in the eye and went in to hug me. I was taken aback. I froze for a second but soon wrapped my hands around her waist as I heard what I wanted to hear all this time.

" I love you, Kai."

I replied " I love you too." in her ear and enjoyed the moment to my fullest. She pulled away and said " Safe journey. Come back soon."

" Ahhhh !!!!! I don't want to go now !!! " I whinned. She laughed at my behaviour.

" Go on now. You'll be late for your flight."

" Sara, I really don't want to go....please. Let me stay here with you."

She turned me around and pushing me ahead by my shoulders. I reluctantly walked to the gate or rather pushed by her to do so.

" You need to go now. " She said.

" Okay. Fine. I'll go...... OH ! LOOK ! " I pointed to her left and she turned her face to see what is it. I quickly placed a peck on her cheeks and ran away before she can chase me.

" I love you, Sara " I said as I get inside my car. She smiled at me. Even though I don't want to leave her like that waiting for me to come back from the trip but still I got inside my car. I saw her standing there with a sad smile as the driver drove off. I felt bad that we both confessed to each other at such time where we are been seperated but at least I got my answer.

" Hello..... As I have promised I'll tell you my answer today. It's a ' No '." I said over the phone. " I won't get engaged to Ruby." And hung up my phone with a smile on my face and satisfaction in my heart.

ETHAN

I woke up early today. Finally my twenty days were over. I can go to school today. I dressed up in my uniform and went to school. I parked my bike inside the school near the entrance. I waited for Sara while sitting on my bike. I looked at my watch. It's 7:45 a.m. still 15 minutes are left. As I waited for Sara. I found Kai walking inside the school. I looked at him and he met my gaze. He stopped for a few seconds then totally ignored me as he continued walking.

At 8:00 am, I saw Sara getting off the cab with her sister but she didn't came inside. She waited outside the entrance . It was quite some time when she finally came inside. I rose up from my bike to walk up to her but before I can take a step towards her. Kai was walking towards her. They were talking about something. He walked past her when she called out to him. She walked over to him and hugged him. He wrapped his hands around her waist digging his face in her hair as he whispered something in her ear.

I clenched my fist at the sight. Not many people were noticing them hugging each other except for me. My anger started building up when I saw Kai running away after kissing her on the cheek. My eyes never left Sara and she turned back, walked inside the school with a smile. She didn't even noticed me standing there. I closed my eyes to calm myself down. I started walking behind Sara at a distance. She opened her locker to get some books. I walked up to her and stood behind her. She took her books and was about to close the locker when I closed it with a bang. She flinched. She turned around and looked at me. I had her blocked since I placed my hand on the locker. She wasn't even shocked at all.

" Did you miss me, Headgirl ?" I smirked.
