chapter one

Jules sat up straight in bed,this was not the first time she had dreamt about Gus. why am I still thinking about Gus even when I know he has a girlfriend?. she thought to herself as she got out of bed.

"goodmorning mum"Jules greeted as she walked into the kitchen For breakfast.

"Morning,sleep well?"

"Dreamt about Gus"

Really?what did you dream this time ?" Mrs Cancaster asked with a very huge smile on her face.

"Mum,can we just forget about it? I want you to pack a picnic for me,Katie and Terry Moreland,considering the fact that you are going to join Dad tomorrow and its the last thing you would do for me in a year".

"Okay darling,what do you want me to pack?".

"A pack of orange juice,crunchy toast-use hot dog fOr it,water,paper plates and napkins and ofcourse the picnic mat".

"when are you going?".

"Ummm......around twelve,I have to pick Katie up and Terry will meet us there".

"okay.......just give me 30 minutes.I made oatmeal,care for some?"

"sure".

"help yourself".

"Who is that guy?".Terry asked as they settled down on the picnic mat."I think he is new,I have not seen him around here before".

"Hey Terry,what happened to our no boyfriend rule till the end of final year?".Katie asked in a very firm voice.

"You don't have to get so worked up,I just said I hadn't seen him before I wasn't even thinking of dating him but now you've given me an idea".Terry said with a teasing smile on her face.

"He has this girlfriend,Lori that he dotes on.He doesn't even have time to flirt with other girls so don't think of it.It would just be wasted effort".Jules said.

"Hey" Terry and Katie said in unison. "How do you know him?" they said again.

"I forgot to tell you guys about him.I met him on the last day of school".

"where did you meet him?".Terry asked.

"you have not forgotten to tell us something since first grade".Katie chipped in.

"Ummm actually,I was supposed to have told you guys about this before now but it 'kindda skipped my mind.You guys remember the trip I told you about last year?"

"Yeah we do".Katie replied.

"Talk for yourself alone".Terry said,"I don't remember".

"The trip about us going to Ireland,remember now?" Jules asked.

"yeah I do..............wait,are you actually going to Ireland and you are just telling us now? I thought we were best friends" Terry said angrily.

"We are still bestfriends,besides who said anything about moving?'' Jules asked and added quIckly."Leaving Tamledge would trash my prom queen dreams"

"we don't understand at all".Katie said."Explain better".She added in a terse voice.

"okay"

When Jules was through explaining exactly how it happy,Terry and Katie had huge grins on their faces

Terry was the one who spoke first."So you mean you are 'gonna be living and coming to school with that really cool guy? Whoa,final year is going to be really interesting".

"Let's go say hi" Katie said standing Uup.

"you guys remember how I met Gus?"

"Yeah we do".They said together

"And you still want me to follow you to say hi"

"there is nothing wrong in greeting a friend".Katie said

"Yeah,and considering the fact that you are going to be living with him for a whole year,you guys better start getting acquinted"Terry added.

"Okkay fine,let's go".

"Good evening mum,hope I'm not too late?"

"No,grab your bags and let's go over to the Waters house".

"Mum can't I stay here till a week to resumption?"

"No.You have two weeks till then and I want you to get used to lIving with them".

"Mum..".

"Go already,its getting late''

knock knock knock

"Who's there?"Someone called from within.

"Mrs Cancaster".

"Good evening,do come in". Tina said as she opened the door

"I'm not coming in,I just helped Jules bring her things over"

"okay ma'm".

"Send my regards to your Mum"Mrs Cancaster said as she turned to Jules,gave her a bear hug and planted wet sloppy kiss on her cheek.

"I will miss you ".She said as she released her.

"I will miss you too mum"

"Goodbye Mrs Cancaster"Tina said as she closed the doors.

"Mum" Tina called as they walked into the living room."Jules is here"

"Go show her her room,I will join you there''

"Okay.Your room is beside Gus and Daniel's room at the end of the hall.Its the last unused bedroom in the house".

"How far is your room from mine?"Jules asked as they climbed up the stairs

"its on the other side of Gus and Daniel's room".She said as the rooms came into full view."There's my room on the right,Gus and Daniel's in the middle and yours on the left".She said as she opened the door to Jules room.

"Wow!" Jules exclaimed."This room is splendid".

"Yeah,I know right" Tina replied with a huge grin."I'm glad you like it,you can repaint and put up posters,Mum wouldn't mind"

"I love the color painted already,did you guys ask my mum for my favorite color?"

"Yeah yeah yeah".

"That's how come you knew it was royal blue".

"Yes".

"Jules,promise me you will remain the good girl you've always been".mum said as she was about to board the plane.

"I promise".

"Bye,see you next year".

Jules wanted to say the same words to her mum but she cOuld not move her tongue.Tears started rolling down her cheeks,ruining her mascara.She had known for quite a while that her mum would be leaving her for a whole year.Fine.But the reality of the whole situation just dawned on her as she watched her mother about to board the plane.

"Bye Mum.I love you".
