CHAPTER EIGHT
THE AIR was cool after the rain of the previous night. It was mid-April and the rains were just beginning. Though the sun was up, the wind that blew on Treasure’s face was cool. The ground still smelled of rain and Treasure avoided the pools of water gathered in several spots on the road as she walked. The road was busy. People moving in both directions on the pavement beside the road. The traffic was very heavy so she decided to walk to the hospital where Mandy would be waiting eagerly to see her.
Treasure had tried Mandy’s number but it was switched off. However, since she had already informed her the previous day that she was coming and Mandy had confirmed she would be on duty, she left for the hospital.
