Chapter 11 Everyone looked at each other they did not know that they would start immediately. Everyone could feel that their ground vibrated again and below them their ground opened and different weapons appeared. A pike appeared in front of the front men. They stood as a pawn on the board. It looked like a long spear that it had two crescent blade on its side. While the line on the backrow had weapons that was dependent on their rank. The men positioned on the rook was in a chariot pulled by a horse. They also had a sword to protect themselves. The knights had a metal suits with them. They were provided with sword and a shield. Instead of a bishop, they doubled the knights. They were already four knights on each team on the board. And last but not the least, the king and queen, they had a throne behind them. They were not allowed to move unless they had a clear path. There moves would depend on the real chess game. Their moves would depend based on their position on the board. The king also had the right to command everyone under his team. Daniel tightly held his sword and his shield. He became one of the four knights. He was the knight who moved like a bishop. He was beside Madison. He looked around. He saw Dontrell and Madison sitting on their throne while Liam was in front of Dontrell. Liam was one of the pawns. He was holding his own pike. He was looking straight to the man in position of the opposite team’s king. Would it not be dangerous for a kid like him to go front row? Daniel asked to himself. The kid did not look scared. He looked very composed. Daniel looked at the people in front of them. He saw that the man on his corporate suit was on his own throne across Dontrell while the queen beside him was the woman in corporate suit, as well. Daniel looked at Dontrell. He would be the one giving commands. Even for the five years of living together, they did not really know each other. He hoped Dontrell was good in chess. He never saw him played one ever since. He saw him watched a match but it was just once and it never happened again. They were the red team. They should be on the first move. But the leader still did not tell them what was at stake. He told everyone to survive. They could be pike each other and could receive a swish from a sword coming from different team. “This is a group based competition. You would not be dead if you would be going to be out off the board. You just have to wait on the rival’s side.” “Are we all going to die if we would not able to secure the opponent’s throne?” One from the red team asked. Daniel could feel that the leader was smiling despite of its hidden face. “A consequence is waiting for the team who will lose,” the leader answered. “How about this weapons we have here? Should we use this?” A pawn from the black team asked. “It will depend on all of you,” the leader and answered.
