Chapter Nineteen

Chapter 19 “What is the plan now?” Liam asked to them for the first time. His cold eyes stared at them. Madison and Dontrell wondered why such a child like him was as cold as ice. What could be the reason behind it? They have been with each other but they know little to none about him. Liam’s forehead wrinkled when he noticed that both Madison and Dontrell could not take their eyes off him. He did not mind them and looked at Daniel. “You told us to be not complacent then what now?” he unemotionally questioned. Cold eyes pierced through him. “We do not know what are they up to. They could not just abduct us and provide us with grand things,” Daniel answered. Dontrell looked at Daniel, “What if all of you are just overthinking?” he said. “What if all they wanted for us to do is just to survive the things that they want us to achieve and after that we are free.” Dontrell looked around. “Is this not a great gift for all of us because we are lucky?” he asked as he continued to roam his eyes throughout the area. “This is a great place for us to start a new life after living in poverty,” he continued. Daniel looked at him in disbelief. He could not believe that Dontrell would be blinded by what they were offering. He never thought that Dontrell could be ambitious. As soon as Madison noticed that Daniel was already giving off a scary feeling she jumped in between the two. “We should stop talking about it for now,” she recommended. “We are tired from earlier and we should at least take a rest before discussing things to help us clear our minds.” Everyone nodded. They were not really that tired. The fight that they had earlier with the other team was all in Dontrell. On that portion, it was Dontrell and the other king who were challenged mentally while the other only did as what their king said. It was to test their obedience. Staying in the unknown place for uncertain time, you must be obedient. After a few hours, the surroundings was already starting to dim. They looked at each other when they heard a knock from the outside of the house. They were all now scattered from the different corners of the room. Madison was on the bed, Dontrell was on the sofa, Daniel was standing on the windows, peeking, while Liam was on the floor, sitting. “Who is it?” Dontrell asked as he looked at Daniel. Daniel tried his best to see who was on the door but it was covered with roof. He directed the flashlight to the area but the light was not enough to illuminate the area he needed to see. “It is hard to determine. I never saw anyone passed earlier so the way of how he got in the door is unusual,” he said. Little by little, Daniel realized that he needed to always talk or just simply answer their questions. They were already in a life and dead situation being thrifty to his words might not help them. He needed to cooperate with them. In the group, only Madison and Dontrell were the only talkative ones. Both Liam and only talk when it was necessary.
