Chapter 3 *Jasmine’s POV* I watch Sean walk into the bathroom and then move to the one side of the bed closest to the window so I can look outside. I have been worried about Steph, so I wait until Sean is out of the shower. Maybe he will take me to her to make sure she is okay. So I get out of the bed, walk around the room And Appreciate the warm colours that Sean has used to decorate. I move to the window and lookout, taking in the difference between my old territory and this territory This land has so much beauty, and the trees don't look dangerous. Something about here seems familiar like I have been here before. Maybe we came here before my mother passed away for an event. We never used to be at war with packs, we used to be friends with others until my mother was killed in a Rogue attack; then my father turned into the cold hard alpha he is now. I hear a door open, so I look over and see Sean with his sweatpants on and no shirt. I take time to admire his body then look up at him smirking “My eyes are up here,” he says with a chuckle So I turn my head, trying to hide the blush on my cheeks. I can't believe he caught me checking him out. Sean comes to me and stands beside me, and I look up at him “could you take me to see Steph before we go to sleep? I want to make sure she is okay!” Sean wraps an arm around my waist and holds me close like he tries to calm me down. I don't mind; I enjoy his touch then he kisses my Temple. “Sure, We can go say good night. Kade is staying in her room for a bit, so she feels safe.” He says, and I look up in shock, “did she ask him?” I asked, beginning to worry that Steph didn't ask. And sean nods “She asked him to stay with her, and Kade said he would if it helped her feel safe.” I let out the breath I was holding, and then Sean guides me to the door, and we make our way to Steph’s room. We knock on the door, and Kade answers when he sees Sean and me; he steps aside “she is shaken up but will be okay Jas,” Kade says as I walk past him. I smile and see Steph sitting on the bed, cuddling her pillow and looking into space. I leave Sean’s side and sit with Steph on her bed and hug her “we are safe here, Steph Kade won't hurt you, neither will any other wolf here.” Steph smiles. “I know I am shocked that we get to be on the alpha floor, and I get my guard, but I am worried that Hamish will come and harm this pack because of us. I don't want their kindness to be punished.” She says as I see tears fall from her eyes. I hug her and then brush her hair out of her face. “Hamish won't hurt us, Steph. What are they going to say? Jasmine and Steph and gone missing? Remember, I am supposed to be dead. I doubt my father is foolish enough to help find me after telling all neighbouring packs I had died ten years ago. “ Steph stays quiet, then nods and smiles. “You are right, Jas.” She jumps up and hugs me, then gets up and hugs Sean and Kade. “We are free from the hell we have had to live in,” Steph says as she gets back on the bed. I laugh then look up at Kade. Thank you for staying with her,” I say as I move off the bed and notice a bed set up on the floor and smile. Kade smiles “It's the least I can do after everything you have been through.” He says as he makes his way to the bed he has made up on the floor. I help Steph get comfortable in bed, go to her bag and get the bear she sleeps with for a night. Because Steph is still only seventeen, I look at her as my little sister and have always ensured she was safe at night, making sure that Hamish kept his distance. I turn to Sean and smile. “We can go back now that I have made sure she is okay. I'll explain everything to you when we are back in the room.” I go to the door and open it, then make my way back to sean’s room and sit on the bed, waiting for him to come back. When he comes into the room, I pat the bed and smile. “I should tell you the truth about Steph.” Sean comes over and sits behind me, then pulls me back into him. I love that he always wants to hold me and make sure I am okay, but it is somewhat distracting, but I know it is our mate bond, so I let it go and get comfortable. “What do I need to know, Jas?” he asks while tracing my fingers. “Well, Steph isn't my best friend. She is more like a little sister. Her parents were taken from her at a young age, and then Steph was put in the omega house Not long after me. She was so small and scared, so I took care of her and made sure she was safe, so that's why I wanted to go back for her my wolf is protective of Steph so that I couldn't leave her behind.” Sean kisses my temple “how old is she?” he asked, concerned. “Seventeen, I say so she is old enough to find her mate, but I hope we can help her overcome her fears before he comes into her life, and I know she isn't an omega as her wolf came to her early” Sean kisses my temple again. Then we sit in silence while he filters what I told him. “I will make sure Steph stays safe, Jas, and she will always have a room on the Alpha’s floor with us.” I turn so I can look at him, and I Kiss him, then pull back “thank you for everything.” Sean moves his hand up to the side of my face, and he leans in and kisses me back, then deepening the kiss, and I feel sparks run up my body and our mate bond working its magic. When Sean pulls back, he rests his forhead on mine and smiles. “Don't thank me, Jas. I should be thanking you for walking into the bar tonight.” I chuckle. “You know I never intended to walk out of that bar with a mate or a new home.” Sean kisses me again, then moves off to the side. “We should go to sleep because tomorrow, my dad wants me to choose a date for the luna and alpha ceremony, and you and Steph will officially become part of our pack in the morning. I can not wait to show you around and meet our other pack mates.” I look at Sean, who reaches over and pulls me closer to him. I inhale his scent and find the peace I lost back when my mother died, and for once, my wolf is silent in the back of my mind. *Sean’s POV* Holding Jasmine while she drifted off to sleep made my wolf settle down. usually, we are up all night pacing the room or doing boundary checks making sure the territory is safe, but tonight. My mind is at peace. I think about what Jas said about Steph, and I wonder if she was the little girl lost long ago when my dad sent help to Jasmine’s pack. Maybe Steph will remember her birth parents? As the parents are still here in our pack tomorrow, I will ask my father to ask them for lunch; maybe I can reunite Steph with her family. She needs some happiness after being treated so poorly. I pull Jasmine closer to me and close my eyes, enjoying her scent, and I begin to get excited about the future and know Jasmine will make a strong Luna.
