……..Meanwhile, in the Nightshade Pack Where is she?” Isabella’s father, Canagan, roared with fury, his anger palpable in the air. He had already slain the young wolf guard he had tasked with watching over her. The camp was in turmoil, and fear gripped the hearts of those present. “It’s been days since I’ve seen my daughter. If I don’t hear any news soon, I won’t hesitate to kill more,” Canagan threatened, directing his rage at the head wolf guard, Bhangi. Bhangi, feeling the weight of responsibility and the intensity of his leader’s anger, tried to explain, “With all due respect, we’ve searched and searched, but we haven’t found her. We believe she may be…” Before Bhangi could complete his sentence, Canagan’s grip tightened around his neck, choking the life out of him. “Repeat what you just said. You believe what?” Canagan’s voice was filled with fury and menace. “I mean to say we will find her. She is still alive,” Bhangi managed to utter, his fear evident in his trembling voice. Canagan released his hold on Bhangi, who gasped for breath. “You better find her, or else heads will roll,” Canagan warned before storming off, leaving the camp in a state of anxiety and urgency. Bhangi quickly gathered the guards and devised a plan to find Isabella, knowing full well that failure could result in dire consequences. They retraced Isabella’s last known trail, which led them to the territory of the Phoenix pack, their rivals. The tension among the guards grew as they realised they might have to trespass into enemy territory to find her. “We can’t go into their territory. It’s too risky,” one guard cautioned, aware of the dangers that lay ahead. “Keep quiet! Don’t let the Alpha hear you saying that. We have to find her, no matter what,” Bhangi snapped, understanding the gravity of the situation. The stakes were high, and the pack’s reputation was on the line. With determination in their hearts, the guards set out on their mission, their loyalty to their Alpha, Canagan, driving them forward. They scoured the forests, following any trace of Isabella they could find. The search was arduous, but they refused to give up, knowing the fate that awaited them if they returned empty-handed. Isabella was desperately trying to navigate her way back home, after being saved by Alex, her mate, from being executed. Isabelle kept looking back as she ran, fear gripping her. She knew she must not be caught again and what’s worse is the outlaws still after her. She just prayed for a miracle to happen, as she ran through the forest. As she approached her territory, a wave of relief washed over her when she spotted her abode afar. But her relief was short-lived as she saw the outlaws yet again, Isabella knew she had to defend herself because she believed no one was coming for her yet. Immediately she transformed into her wolf form and ran with all her might, determined to escape once more. The chase was intense, her heart pounding with each stride. Then, as if by fate, Isabella saw Bhangi and his pack rushing to her rescue, their appearance gave her renewed hope and strength. The guards acted swiftly, surrounding the outlaws and capturing one of them to serve as a scapegoat. Isabella was safe once again, and she felt grateful for the pack’s determination to find her. She was so happy to see Bhangi and the pack once again, at least she is close to home and then she fainted. Bhangi seeing this, carried her back to the camp, for immediate treatment as he was scared she might be hurt. Isabella woke up, at first she was scared thinking she was about to be executed but then she remembered that she was back home. Isabelle wondered how her father was feared and despised by many. Because she believed her father can’t hurt a fly and had loved and protected her throughout her life. Her thoughts were interrupted when the door to her room suddenly opened and lo and behold was her father looking down at her, with tears in his eyes. Canagan couldn’t contain his emotions and rushed to embrace her tightly. Love and concern were evident in his eyes, and tears welled up as he held her close. “Isabella, you frightened me. What happened? I thought I had lost you,” Canagan said, his voice filled with genuine worry. Isabella was taken aback by her father’s display of emotion. Despite his reputation, deep down, she knew he cared for her in his flawed way. “Father, I’ve missed you too. I thought I was going to die,” Isabella replied, relieved to be back in the safety of her father’s arms. Curiosity and anger mixed within Canagan as he sought to learn what had transpired during her absence. “Tell me everything. Who dared to come after my only daughter?” he demanded, his voice resonating with authority. As Isabella recounted her ordeal, she couldn’t help but remember the dark truth that had haunted her for years. Her mother and younger brother’s deaths had always been shrouded in mystery, and the prevailing story was that they had died during childbirth. But the haunting rumours suggested a darker truth – that her father was responsible for their deaths, believing her mother had been unfaithful. It was a painful truth that she couldn’t bring herself to accept fully. Deep down, Isabella wished the rumours were just rumours. But the burden of such knowledge weighed heavily on her heart, making it difficult for her to fully trust her father. She knew he had a ruthless side, but she also couldn’t ignore the love he had shown for her. “Father, they were outlaws, and yes, they came after me because of you,” Isabella revealed, not wanting to divulge more than necessary. She didn’t tell her father she was almost executed by the Phoenix clan, as she wants to find the truth behind the killing of Alex’s mother. Seeing her father’s anger and determination to protect her, she felt a mix of emotions – gratitude for his fierce protection, yet also a lingering doubt about his past actions. Canagan’s anger ignited, fueled by the thought that someone dared to threaten his daughter. He vowed to hunt down those responsible, his eyes blazing with fury. As her father’s focus shifted to vengeance, Isabella retreated inside, her mind consumed with thoughts of Alex, her mate. She yearned to be in his embrace again, feeling a sense of comfort and solace whenever they were together. Their bond offered her strength and a sense of belonging that she had never experienced before. Amidst the overwhelming and conflicting emotions she felt, Isabella held onto the hope that her future with Alex would be filled with love, understanding, and acceptance. Majorly, due to her mate not being part of their pack, she sensed hostility and did not know how to inform her dad about this important thing. Also, she needs to warn her father about the impending danger, although she is not sure but then she still needs to warn him to prepare for all kinds of fights. Standing nearby, Bhangi felt a sense of achievement and pride in his heart. He had fulfilled his duty and played a crucial role in protecting the Alpha’s daughter, whom he had grown to care for like family. However, little did anyone know that secretly, deep in his heart, Bhangi wished Isabella was his mate. He believed that if fate allowed it, nothing would stop him from pursuing her. Bhangi had always longed for her, going to great lengths to find her, even venturing into enemy territory when he knew he could die was how much he loved and cherished her. In his heart, he had made a silent vow to himself – to overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of making Isabella his, even if it meant challenging her chosen mate. Bhangi yearned for Isabella to be by his side, firmly convinced that she was meant to be his, no matter the consequences.
