Roommates

She spent her entire childhood confined to her home. Her parents were so conservative, so strict they don’t even allow her to go out with her friends. They believed if she go like that, she will get spoilt. They always say “look Yashoda, women should have morals, nowadays women don’t even have those. You shouldn’t be like them” Yashoda always heard that. Whenever she asked about going out just with her friends, they say “no dear, you can go some other time” but that some other time never came. Yashoda argued, she tried to shout at them, but all were a waste of time. Whenever it went to an argument they utter a final verdict “don’t act like a women with no morals, being so shameless. Keep your low, listen and obey”. Hearing such a verdict from her own parents. The worst nightmare for her is that her parents thinking her as a worst daughter. Then the college talk came, she asked to study in a nearby city, but they said no. “Why going alone and struggling, while we provide you everything”. She got numb hearing to it. Whenever the talk of going out of the home occured, it came with a big lecture about morality and how world is not safe for women. She tried a lot. But she was made to study in the college within the city. That’s when she vowed to herself, she doesn’t want to be here. She wants to move out of her home. Moving out of her home, will give a mere sense of freedom. Driving through the passion in writing, and storyboard designing, she got a job. And for her, she got a reason to move out of her home. When she revealed it to her parents “what you got a job?” “Dear, dont stress yourself? You need not do job and all… what about doing higher studies in the college you studied Ug” But she is not going to give up now. “No appa, how long can I study and use your money only. You need to rest for a while. I want to repay what you gave me.” Her father didn’t flatter with these words. But it did work well. After lots of struggles, here she is. In the new city, Chennai. For some it might be a simple thing, but for her it meant new freedom. She saw a flat for her, not so big, a 1bhk, she struggled a lot for her freedom. Took some loans, saved some money to pay the rent. All that to live on her own. Definitely her parents won’t allow her to stay alone in a flat. The storyteller in her gave a beautiful script. The company gave accomodation too. And her luck it worked. Now she is here, new flat, new job and newfound freedom. But what she doesnt know yet is that there is an uninvited guest with whom she has to share this flat.
