Chapter 6: An ExplanationLeo, some minutes later…
“Pull over!” Vinnie thumped on his window. “Pull over!”
Danny didn’t flinch, although he did throw a brief glance at Leo in the rearview mirror. They were on their way home from the airport, and Danny calmly put on the turn signal and pulled into the first available parking spot.
“Want me to feed the meter?” Danny peered over his shoulder at Leo. Vinnie had already undone his seatbelt and was sliding open the Odyssey’s rear passenger side door.
Leo undid his seatbelt and followed Vinnie. “Just the minimum.”
Out on the sidewalk, Vinnie’s target quickly became obvious. Arthur Fletcher appeared to have just stepped out of the Starbucks and was strolling in the opposite direction.
“He’s getting away.” Vinnie took off at a trot.
