Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Allisa
Two days, two days until I turn eighteen. Two days left of all this crap I have been putting up with. Allisa was a lonely omega. Orphaned and found by the pack’s Luna just outside of the pack lands, Luna Lilly Redmoon Blackcliff. The only item that was with her when she was found was a note, ‘Allisa Lavender, one month old. Please take care of my pup.’ No last name, no other information.
Two days until I get to decide what I want to do with my life. She thought as she pushed the vacuum cleaner across the plush deep blue carpet of the next Alpha Tristen’s room. This room was her favorite room to clean. She cleaned the pack house 3 days a week. Each day was vacuuming, dusting, windows and bathrooms. Until last week she was also finishing high school campus, and she trained every day with the rest of the pack. This room smelt of pine and fresh rain. She wasn't sure why but the smell lingered.
Turning off the vacuum, she unplugged the cord from the wall and began wrapping the cord back onto the machine. Humming to herself as she worked. The entire pack was in a frenzy. The pack Alpha and Luna’s son was returning from Alpha training. He had been gone for the past 2 years. Tristen, the future Alpha, was one of her closest friends. The Alpha and Luna have treated her with kindness for almost 18 years now.
“Oh, Ally, there you are.” Luna Lillie's voice came from the door. “I was looking for you. My husband and I need to speak with you dear. Are you almost finished?” she asked, stepping into the room.
“Luna Lily, yes ma’am, I'm finishing up now.” Allisa stood and pushed the vacuum to sit beside the door as she collected the cleaning supplies she had used for the rest of her chores.
“Perfect. Once you return your supplies to the closet, meet us in the Alpha’s office.” Luna said as she walked out of the room.
“Yes ma’am.” Allisa nodded as she closed the door behind her. Pushing the vacuum down the hall to the closet where they kept the cleaning supplies. Putting her supplies away, she stopped in the hall bathroom to wash her hands. She smelt of lemons and she hated that smell.
Once she finished up in the bathroom, she made her way through the halls to the Alphas office. The office was on the second floor at the top of the grand staircase. The heavy oak door was stained dark like the rest of the wood in the house. Reaching up to knock the Alphas' voice came through the door, “Come in, Ally,” he said. She could hear the smile in his voice.
Gripping the handle, she twisted and pushed the door open. “Alpha, Luna.” she greeted them. Nodding, lowering her eyes to the floor.
“Please sit.” Alpha Allen gestured to the chair across from his desk.
She sat and noticed Luna was not in the room yet. “My mate will be here shortly. She was called to the kitchen. There was some type of issue with the menu for the party on Saturday." Alpha smiled. Rolling his eyes, “It’s bar-b-que. Honestly, what issue is there? It’s meat!” the alpha mumbled to himself. Ally heard him and smiled to herself.
“The issue was that they could not get a whole side of beef for the pit and needed the okay to order two halves.” Luna corrected him as she entered the room and made her way to her mate. Perching herself on the arm of his chair. Alpha wrapped an arm around her hips, pulling her into his lap.
“Well, they could have figured it out themselves. Not that hard of a decision.” Alpha complained.
“Oh stop, Ally is here. Let’s not take up too much of her time. The girl has training in twenty minutes.” Luna smacked the Alphas arm that was wrapped around her.
“Yes, Ally!” Alpha started, “Your birthday is coming up this Saturday, as well as the return of our son,” he said to her. “This party is not only a celebration for our son. But for you as well. To celebrate your eighteenth birthday, and hopefully you find your mate!” Alpha announced their plan.
Allison’s head had snapped up, she looked from the Alpha to the Luna. Both were smiling and watching her reaction. “Yes dear,” Luna began, “Did you think we would forget about you on your special day?” She asked.
Allison was stunned, “We-well yes! I’m not of importance to anyone here.” she started.
“Enough of that talk,” Alpha snapped. He was beginning to get angry.
“But,” Allison began. But was only cut off again by Luna. “Oh, now you know how my mate and I do not like to hear you talk like that dear.” Luna rubbed her mate's arm as she talked. Ally watched as Alpha Allen calmed down. “You and I will be going shopping tomorrow for a dress, shoes, and jewelry. Everything that you need for the party Saturday night,” Luna told her.
Ally was confused and surprised. “That is too much Luna, I can wear one of the ones you gave me.” Ally replied, lowering her eyes.
“No, no, that will not do.” Luna smiled. Standing, she walked to Ally’s chair. Placing a finger under her chin, and lifted Ally’s face to look up at Luna. “You girl, are the adopted daughter of Allen and I. It may not be official but we want to do this for you.” Luna said softly. Tears in her eyes.
Alpha Allen and Luna Lilly had a daughter, Evengeline. She would have been nineteen. But she was killed by rogues in a raid when she was two. They had found Ally just a month after their daughter was killed and had taken her in. They explained to her that they both thought it was the moon goddess's blessing to them for taking their daughter from them.
“If you wish Luna,” Ally whispered. Dropping her gaze to the floor.
“I do wish it.” Luna smiled. Walking back to her mate. “We will leave here tomorrow morning after you are finished with your morning training,” Luna told her. Wrapping her arm around her mate's shoulders.
“Yes Luna.” Ally replied, still a little taken aback.
“Good now that that is decided, head on down to training. Luna and I need to decide on your gift as well.” Alpha told her. “Don’t you say a word, Ally. You are getting a gift.” He smiled, knowing she was about to object.
Smiling, she stood, “Yes, Alpha.”
