Saving the princess

This is actually the first time Lance saw princess Alicia and he could immediately know why she is called a goddess. Glistening long golden hair, flawless face, and small red cherry lips. Blue eyes that could suck you in as if you’re looking at the ocean. Not to mention the grace and demeanor exuded from her even when she is staying still. If there are a god’s blessings related to beauty then Alicia definitely has it. Even Lance’s lover in the previous life, Ysabel isn’t half as pretty.
“It is truly a waste to give her to Clyde.”
Lance muttered in his mind as he is controlling the two men from the slums.
“Hehe, look what we got here?”
“A fat lamb, something that I like.”
Looking at the two men's hideous appearance, the nun was about to go crying while Alicia is still keeping her calm.
“Where is the princess guard?” The nun asked at Alicia while she seemed to have realized the situation and shook her head. Alicia steeled her resolve and looked at the two men.
“What do you want?”
“Oh, straight to the point. I like it.”
“Well, we heard that you are regularly donating your money to the church and the orphanage. How about from now on, you slightly change the name of the recipient to the both of us?”
The two men then laughed while taking out knives from their pockets. One of them even licked the knife and send shivers to the nun’s back. Alicia however still calm and talk to the two again.
“If money is what you want, I will give it to you. Just let me take it first in my carriage.”
“Ho, it seemed that you’re quite rich. It’s not that I didn’t trust you, what if you go out and didn’t return, we’ll be suffering a loss by then. How about we take some down payment?”
“What down payment?”
“How about we have a taste of your body first?”
Hearing that, not even the nun, even Alicia’s face turned pale. For Alicia, she has a lot of money. Even if the money she had was lacking, she could always ask more from her father. However, purity is another thing. Once she lost it, not only that there’s no means to recover it, it would tarnish her reputation and she won’t be able to find someone to marry her in the future.
The king never considered this kind of situation when he is prohibiting Alicia from learning martial arts. Not to mention that he is already assigning guards for her, the chance of someone dares to assault the princess is extremely low.
The two men the approaching closer to Alicia and the nun. It was fortunate that there are no orphans around or they will be watching this horror spectacle.

“Stop right there and don’t come closer or I’m left with no choice but to hurt you!”
Without Alicia noticing, a figure is now standing in front of her, blocking the two men from moving forward. At this point, although Alicia couldn’t see the man's face, he was like a knight in shining armor from the story that she used to listen to before she sleeps when she was little.
“Oh, look who’s here. Are you one of the princess’s knights?”
“What princess? I just come here because I see some people are laid out in a pool of blood. When I see two men ganging up upon two helpless women, how can I stand still? Even if I am weaker than you both, I will still step up since that’s what a man should do.”
Of course, Lance is saying all of that according to the script that he wrote. It is on purpose to hit all the checkmarks to make princess Alicia like him. For Lance, all of the nonsense he is spouting just now is like a hypocrite to his real nature. But he has to do this to win her heart.
“Hahaha. Judging from your look, you might be someone from a well-off family. You wouldn’t understand our sufferings who have to go through days without food. What can you do with such a flimsy arm anyway? Your arm might fell off when the wind blows. How about you just stand aside for now and we promise that you will have your turn in tasting the women here.”
“Ptui! I will never cooperate with someone like you. Not to mention that you are planning to do despicable things to these women. You can only do that over my dead body.”
“Tch. You would rather go to hell even when I offer you heaven. I hope your family won’t cry when seeing your dead body.”
The two men then approach Lance with an intimidating move but how could Lance failed to handle them? Lance is making a dodging movement and dodges the attack of the men. He also occasionally letting some attack through to look like as if he is suffering. After all, a comeback move is more inspiring than dominating the battle from the start.
Throughout the battle, princess Alicia is letting out several gasps and it didn’t escape lance’s notice. At last, Lance managed to defeat the two men despite bearing some wound himself.
“Thank you for your help.”
The nun beats princess Alicia to express her thanks and if there’s someone, they wouldn’t believe what they are seeing right now. The perfect princess Alicia is actually blushed a little as she is approaching Lance.
“I-I-I would like to express my thanks too.”
“Don’t mind it. I am just doing something that everyone will naturally do. How can I stay silent when I look at those men who are trying to ruin a girl’s innocence? Anyway, since the situation has been resolved, I will have to excuse myself. Ugh.”
Lance about to walk away however the wound on his ribs is aching and he stumbled forwards towards princess Alicia, at least that’s what it looked like from the nun’s perspective.
“Ah, I’m sorry.”
Lance is now trying to quickly move his body over that is currently laying on top of Alicia’s body. Their face is so close to each other that even Alicia could feel his ragged breath on her cheek. At this moment, Alicia’s white face turned very red just like a tomato. After finally getting out of the embarrassing positions, Lance once again quickly tried to stand up and leave while clutching his ribs.
“I think that you will need to see a doctor. Why don’t you follow me to get treated?”
“Don’t worry, these are just superficial wounds that will only take one or two weeks to heal. I will be back to my prime condition in no time. Then, goodbye.”
Lance is already near the church’s door before Alicia’s shout can be heard.
“Wait!”
Lance turned his body and looked at Alicia who is grabbing the hem of her dress anxiously.
“What is it, young miss?”
“What is your name?”
“It’s Lance.”
Lance then pretended to think for a bit before asking back.
“May I have the honor to hear your name?”
“It’s Alicia.”
“Alicia, what a beautiful name. Then, let’s meet again if fate allows it.”
Lance didn’t give Alicia a chance to ask anything more before exiting the scene. Leaving Alicia staring at the door for quite a while even after Lance’s figure couldn’t be seen anymore.
“Princess. Princess.”
“Ah!”
Finally, Alicia regained her mind back when the nun is calling out for her.
“It seemed that the perfect princess has finally found her loved one.”
“W-w-what are you saying? I’m just curious about him, alright.”
“Uh-huh. I can see that.”
“Sister! Please stop teasing me. I don’t even know whether I will meet again with him or not. He doesn’t seem to know that I am a princess either. I believe that he is either just someone who’s passing by or just arrived in the city. The chance of the former is bigger so I doubt that we will meet again.”
“However, princess, I have a hunch that you both will meet again. Well, if that’s really happened then I believe that you’re both fated to be together.”
The two are chatting cheerfully as if they have forgotten what happened earlier before a guard finally arrived at the scene and ruins the atmosphere.
“Your highness, I am very sorry about this. I just got a report that you suffered from an attack. The guards that are assigned to you have suffered from heavy wounds and are being tended outside. I will be taking their place to escort you back to the castle. Please, your highness.”
“Sister, it seemed that I have to take my leave. I’ll talk to you again on my next visit.”
“May God shine their blessings upon you for your kind donation. I will be waiting for your next visit.”
Princess Alicia’s attack is revealed not long after and it immediately sends the capital into a rage. After all, princess Alicia is everyone’s sweetheart. Lance however doesn’t seem to be interested in that at all as his attention is focused on Clyde that is now having an audience with the king.
