“Wake up, my dear.” A woman’s friendly voice broke the silence.
Ben opened his eyes to see a blurry figure that gradually came into focus as his eyes got used to the light. The woman kneeled beside him, reaching under his arm to help him sit up. She wore a white blouse, blue skirt and blazer. The blazer was adorned with a golden name badge inscribed with the name ‘Klára’ on the breast pocket. Her brown hair was twisted into a tight, perfect bun.
“Are you alright, my dear?” she asked anxiously.
Ben looked around for Maya. She sat a little farther away on the ground with her back to the wall. She was conscious and trying to pull herself together.
