“Jonah?”
Jonah barely heard Reena calling his name as he stared at the phone in his hand. Maybe if he stared hard enough, he could see something. He got nothing except a dial tone.
“Jonah.” Reena snapped her fingers in front of his nose. “What the hell is wrong? You look like something’s happened.”
“Eva,” he whispered before he stared up at Reena, still horrified. “That was Eva. She got into a fight and—”
“Sit down.”
“I can’t sit down! I gotta get to E—”
“Ok. Start from the beginning. We can’t do s**t without information.”
Jonah forced himself to calm. “Eva called to invite us to the Emmys. I heard a fight. She started to yell out vampires, and I heard more fighting before it just…it went silent.”
