Attarah sat back to lay across the picnic blanket, her head on Marcus' lap as she gazed at the clouds above, watching them fly across the blue bliss above, dancing with the sky and the breeze.
"What are you thinking about love?" Aro asked from his seat, they'd all brought documents out with them to work from outside so they'd not have to leave her.
"I want to go somewhere, with all of you... Please" she practically begged and sat up, crawling to Aro, her shoes got caught in her dress and dragged it down partially as she sat in front of him.
"We cannot leave the castle unattended my dear" he informed and lifted her from below the arms onto his lap, the dress returning to its correct location upon her breasts.
"One at a time then?" She asked again, hope glimmering in her eyes like an olive-toned galaxy. "Please?"
The three kings exchanged glances, what would come from them leaving, one at a time of course, surely all would be fine. "Okay, my dear, one at a time though only for a few days."
"A short holiday with us each?" Caius questioned and gained a nod and a happily adorable smile from his mate, she giggled violently and practically flew to him, knocking him back to lie on the grass and straddling his hips with a cheetah mischievous grin.
"What do you have planned?" Caius asked as the sun beat down ever hotter. He was suspicious, along with the other two kings when suddenly, she stood and kicked off her shoes, running along the dirt track to the gigantic water pool and fountain.
The kings exchanged shocked looks before chasing after her, reaching the clearing in time to hear a splash and see their beautiful mate submerge beneath the softly lapping chlorine waves. She rose to the top, her dress and hair fanning around her.
Her breath came sharply from the run and the waves, but she seemed content within the water. Caius crouched down to the edge of the pool and she swam to him, the water one deathly level all around.
"Are you okay princess?" He asked, his skin glistening in the sun, she stared captivated for a moment, taking his hand in her wet one to examine the crystalline texture. Whilst seemingly captivated, she sent Marcus a secret mischievous wink and pulled an unsuspecting Caius down into the water.
The kings on the surface broke into laughter as Caius resurfaced sopping wet yet as gorgeous as ever, the blond quickly removed his suit jacket, shoes and belt, throwing them onto the wet tiles before grabbing his giggling mate.
"You little devil" he gasped loudly, laughing also as she wrapped her legs around his waist, the water played with his shirt, dragging it up to reveal his toned abdomen as it similarly dragged her dress in the lapping stream, her bare legs pressing against his icy flesh.
"You had it coming" she defended, her fingers knitting into his damp hair and tugging gently as she pressed her warm lips to his cold ones, quickly losing breath from all the exercise and overworking muscles.
"Coming in brothers?" Caius asked and the men exchanged nervous looks though the happiness in Attarahs face hastily encouraged them until the plunged in also.
"Got ya" Aro laughed hysterically as he grabbed his mates legs, lifting her up onto his shoulders, her light dress quickly becoming see-through to reveal her lacy undergarments though they didn't care that much, nor did she.
"Aro" she giggled and he chuckled in happiness, allowing her to dive off of his shoulders under the water, when down she smirked devilishly, swimming to the man who'd lifted her and hastily dragging down his trousers so he stood wearing only his underwear in the pool.
"Tara!" Marcus laughed loudly as she resurfaced to be met with a shocked Aro and overly joyous Caius who was laughing hysterically.
"You sure are in a good mood today" Aro commented on her playful mood and moved his hands slowly up her legs beneath her dress, allowing it to flow to the surface as his hands finally grasped her backside, wrapping around her as he dragged her into a kiss.
"I am" she gasped as his finger smoothly drew circles on the flesh above her waist. The two other kings seemingly vanished to allow the two some alone time though they only really returned to the picnic area.
"Aro" she gasped as he slipped his fingers beneath her underwear and caressed her flesh. Letting out a soft moan, the female bit into her mate's lip, tugging it gently until he gasped, retracting his hands.
The girl quickly slipped away from him, swimming to the surface and running back down the trail, water splashing on the rock tiles as she reached the luscious picnic area once more as though nothing had happened at all.
"Let's get you into something warm" Marcus suggested as Aro returned to the group looking rather frustrated. Their mate was now shivering despite the warm weather and was lifted by Caius into his icy arms, the four rushing to the castle as quickly as possible.
Having reached Caius' room, he placed her on his bed as she assessed her surroundings once more, it was not her first time in there though she was still slightly shocked to see the room.
"Would you like a bath love?" Caius asked as his brothers went to change into drier attire.
"If I could?'
"Of course you can, you don't need to ask. I'll get Miranda to bring you over some clothes." He smiled and stood, walking to the door.
"Caius?" He turned back.
"Thank you"
---
The three kings had reentered Caius' chambers and were sitting side by side on the couch, Miranda had entered a short ten minutes previously and entered the bathroom where their mate had vanished though water could no longer be heard running.
"I am not wearing that" they heard their mate protest through the thin oak door and they sighed at her stubbornness that they'd grown to utterly adore through time.
"They are your mates Principessa. You could wear a garbage sack and they'd think you were gorgeous." The handmaiden attempted with her thick Italian accent.
"The problem being, I'm not gorgeous Miranda and I can't wear that" Aro almost growled at her denial of her beauty but was shushed by Caius who was equally angry though not wanting to scare her.
"Just wear it Attarah. I promise they'll love it" the women charted and they heard a sigh. A few minutes later they heard the door unlock and witnessed Miranda scurry from the room. After a minute of listening to their mate's heavy breathing, she appeared.
She wore a long silky gown that fit her perfectly though they'd never allow her to leave the bedroom in such a thing as the top half was utterly see-through, only miniature thicker scraps of silk protecting her modesty.
"Uh...I look ridiculous" she sighed after none of them spoke from shock.
"Never say that" Aro suddenly demanded and walked to her, his hands taking her slim waist, dragging her forward to him until she looked up at him through lashes.
"None of you spoke" a ghost of breath sighed through her crimson lips. Aro frowned and trailed his hands upwards to her cheek, cupping it and gently kissing her with a satin touch.
Suddenly the girl remembered something as Aro pulled away, he stared at her in confusion as her eyes flashed. She turned to Marcus and walked to him, sitting on his lap.
"Miranda told me earlier that you wished to see me today?" She asked in an almost question and he chuckled.
"It was nothing that hasn't already been discussed today" he smiled and she kissed him too before walking to Caius' bed, jumping up and sliding into the middle, her eyes clearly tired through she didn't know what to do with herself.
"We've got work to do I'm afraid love" Aro sighed and her face visibly dropped though she faked content and nodded, somehow they brought her act as they kissed her forehead softly and exited the room, leaving her alone to sleep.
--
Attarah opened her eyes and glanced around, having no idea where she was, she glanced up to see her hands clasped above her in sheer agony, her fingers caught in small bear traps as she screamed and cried for freedom.
"You will never be free" a voice laughed loudly and she glanced over at the doorway.
"Bella?" Her voice held innocence and shock as her sister stepped out into the light, a bright beam stretched across her face at her sister's misery. "Please help me, Bella, it hurts!" She cried out and Bella merely smirked, walking to her with the false act of saving her.
The older girl suddenly slammed a slither of wood into Attarahs stomach and the girl screeched and cried in pain and terror, fearing her death. What was happening? Where was Caius? Marcus? Aro? Anybody.
"Why are you doing this to me, Bella?"
"You are going to marry them! The men who brought only pain to me and my family!"
"I'm your family too!"
Bella growled and twisted the wood "you will be their wife and they will be happy! They don't deserve happiness!"
"They deserve happiness more than you!" Attarah cried and Bella suddenly smirked an uncharacteristic happy smirk.
"You'll never see them again!"
"Please" the future Volturi queen cried and Bella grabbed a bag from the corner of the small cave they occupied, she opened the sack and tipped it upside down.
The contents ripped Attarahs heart in two and she screeched in rage and agony as three heads rolled to her feet. Glancing down into the eyes of her lovers, her world shatters and she screeched.
------
Caius, Aro and Marcus sat side by side in Aro's study, hyper-aware of their mate sleeping in the room across the hall. Suddenly the silence that clung to them was shredded by a loud scream of pain that continued with whimpers afterwards.
Wasting no time, the kings were from their seats and running to their mate, slamming the door open go see her asleep, screaming and crying, thrashing and shredding the sheets below her fingers, tears trickling down her cheeks like a waterfall.
"Attarah" Aro attempted but failed. Marcus rushed to his mate, taking her in his arms and shaking her when she didn't awaken his motions became more violent, they needed to awaken her from her slumber and they needed to do it now.
Seeing how violent his brother was getting, Caius took the girl from his arms, the female instantly clung to the male, her fingers digging into his suit jacket as she continued to whimper, suddenly she screamed again, louder than the first and more pained.
Suddenly everything fell silent and Aro shook her awake, opening her eyes to come face to face with Caius, Attarah let out tears of relief, lunging at him and hugging him tightly.
Upon spotting her other two mates she scooped them into a double hug though they didn't complain, just holding her as she shivered and whimpered.
"Your okay my love, it was just a dream" Marcus whispered, his lips kissing the flesh of her cheeks and neck relatively in any location he could reach.
"You're still here" she cried and hugged them tightly. The kings frowned at her words, what had she dreamed about that had affected her so deeply? Whatever it was, they silently vowed to not leave her alone again, at least one king with her at all times. She was more precious to them than anything in the world and they wouldn't lose her.
---
Attarah had spent the rest of the night in Marcus' arms, tears trickling down her cheeks though she said nothing when they asked. As the sun rose, the kings quickly became worried about the girl who'd been so happy the previous day but was currently sad.
"What did you dream about?" Marcus finally asked and received glares from the other two kings, all night they'd been procrastinating asking that question but Marcus wasn't afraid.
"She killed you" Attarah informed and tucked her head further into his chest, they were the first words she'd spoken all day and they were shocked.
"Who Tara?"
"Bella" she sobbed and hugged Marcus tighter as her nightmare flashed through her brain, it was horrible.
The kings exchanged glances at her words, was she foreshadowing a possible future throughout her dreams? At one point the Volturi had to travel to Forks to dispel alleged rumours of an immortal child...surely Bella wouldn't have the power to kill them?
"Hey, look at me" Caius ushered and she looked up slowly, tears still falling. "Tomorrow, you leave to go on holiday with Marcus, how does that sound?" He smiled and she returned it somewhat happily with a nod.
"Do you need to go to work?" She asked as her bottom lip quivered ever so slightly, the kings exchanged glances before looking at her solemnly.
"I'm afraid so" Aro sighed and stood, kissing her forehead "we'll visit you soon, it's just one trial and then we can spend the entire day with you?" She perked up at his words and nodded, kneeling and kissing him gently before bidding the others farewell and following them out, heading in the opposite direction to them, to her room.
----
Arriving in her bedroom, she quickly located Miranda and was bathed quickly before being pushed to sit at the vanity with a smirking Miranda standing directly behind her.
"Why are you making that face?" The future Queen demanded gently and Miranda looked up.
"Marcus is taking you on holiday tomorrow and he told me where to but I'm not going to tell you, everything you need is already packed." She smiled happily with a bubbly expression.
"You are way too happy about that" Attarah commented.
"I know" the handmaiden piped and stepped back "all done." Standing, Attarah made her way to the mirror, avoiding standing on the waves of fabric.
Adorning her body, Attarah wore a long pink gown that flowed from her waist in petal frills, a pair of glittery stiletto heels adorning her petite feet, tied with ribbons and an equally pink crystal hanging from a chain at her neck.
Her hair had been piled up and plaited with multiple flowers and she considered the entire combination gorgeous, for the first time she felt content with herself and not attempting to be vain, she felt pretty.
"So now what's the plan?" Attarah questioned, unsure of what her day was due to consist of so turning to her handmaiden for aid.
"I'm sorry, your grace, today is my half-day, I leave in twenty minutes" the women informed nervously.
"That's okay, go and have fun, leave now" the future Queen gestured toward the door with a gentle smile as she watched her friend leave.
"Thank you Attarah" she vaguely registered as her only friend disappeared. After pondering for a few moments, Attarah began to walk the corridors in search of an activity of any sorts though she found not a single guard member.
Even the lowest ranking members were nowhere in sight though she paid little mind to it, quickly locating the library and sitting on one plush couch.
Silence filled every crevice of the castle as Attarah sat reading within the library, books splayed across the coffee table directly before her. As she read she reflected, the words of the book slipping from her mind only seconds after she read them.
Her life had changed rather abruptly since she moved, she loved three men. Until that moment she hadn't truly thought about such a prosperity. How was it possible to love three? How would weddings work? Would she have three? Or none at all?
The thought of having no wedding upset her greatly, since childhood she'd wished for a wedding as if it solidified love. Renee disliked her and so she felt the need to make up for that missing love in the right way, what was the right way?
Suddenly, she no longer wished for a wedding, if she could be with them forever why did she need a wedding?
Another unfortunate thought that struck her was how quickly they were going to forget about her, was she a plaything until they found better? Why would they want an average human? Did they want her only to anger the Cullen's? It surely didn't work.
The more she thought these thoughts, the further they expanded, one form into another until her dream hit her and linked to reality, the reality that Bella hated her for going to the Volturi. Attarah had never been one which was good with silence, that was why she was allegedly so chatty, she needed to fill the silence to escape her own thoughts.
The horrific idea that her family hated her came to mind, what if Bella resented her for leaving? The Cullen's' would surely follow suit. And what if she never gave charlie a good explanation and in short, he resented her also?
The Volturi didn't particularly enjoy her company as she was a mere human and what if her nightmares about her mates came true and they left her? She would have no place to go and no people to live with, she'd be all alone.
"Attarah?"
