Pregnancy Drugs
After being in critical condition for a day, Anna finally woke up from her long sleep. It was her second day in the hospital. That morning, Anna opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling of the hospital room, then glanced around. She wasn’t at Evan’s house—she was somewhere else. She raised her hand and noticed the IV tube attached, letting out a long sigh. She was in a hospital now. Anna felt thankful that someone had helped her get out of Evan’s room.
Her throat was parched and she felt extremely thirsty. She tried reaching for the glass on the table next to her bed, but before she could grab it, a nurse entered the room.
“Oh, you’re awake?” The nurse smiled, walking over.
Anna stopped moving and looked at her.
“Nurse, I’m really thirsty,” Anna said softly. The nurse nodded, grabbed the glass, and handed it to her. Anna quickly drank the water in large gulps, nearly finishing it all at once.
“Slow down, Miss!” the nurse warned gently. Anna hadn’t had a drop of water in almost two days—because of Evan.
“Thank you, Nurse,” Anna said. The nurse nodded and smiled kindly.
“You’re welcome. I’ll let your family know you’ve regained consciousness, okay?” Anna just listened quietly. Family? She thought. What family? She didn’t have one—not really. Calling Lydia “family” didn’t mean anything to her anymore. She’d rather be alone than have Lydia around.
“Do you need anything else? I’ll be heading out,” the nurse asked.
Anna thought for a moment.
“Can you help me sit up?” she requested. The nurse helped her sit and adjusted the bed to raise the headrest.
“There you go.”
“How long have I been unconscious?” Anna asked.
“Since yesterday, Miss. Just rest, I’ll be back soon,” the nurse said and left the room. Anna looked around, already feeling bored. She grabbed the TV remote and turned it on, hoping to pass the t
At Evan’s residence
Ganda received a call from the hospital and immediately went to find Anet, who was busy with house chores.
“Anet,” he called from behind.
“What is it?” she asked.
“Anna’s awake. Forget the chores, come with me!” Anet nodded in agreement and got ready to leave for the hospital.
“Have you called the boss?” she asked while grabbing her bag.
“I’ll call him on the way. Oh, and Anna asked you to bring her phone from her room.” Ganda relayed Anna’s request, and Anet turned back to get Anna’s phone. They both hurried out, anxious to see Anna and find out what had happened to her.
Meanwhile, Sarah had just ended a phone call. Antonio had informed her that Anna had regained consciousness. He didn’t want to be involved anymore and had handed the matter over to Sarah. With her husband buried in work, all of Evan’s problems were now in Sarah and Ganda’s hands.
Sarah walked to her son Dion’s room—he still hadn’t woken up.
“Dion!” she knocked hard on the door.
“What is it, Ma?” Dion opened the door, still groggy and shirtless.
“Get up. We’re going to the hospital,” she said.
“To see that woman?” Dion asked, rolling back onto his bed.
“She’s awake. Your dad told me to check on her. Come with me.” Dion sat on the edge of the bed.
“How’s she doing?”
“She’s stable now. Come with me.” Sarah turned to leave.
Dion stood, opened his nightstand drawer, and handed her a small bottle of pills.
“Let me take a shower first. Give this to her.”
“What is this?” Sarah frowned.
“Abortion pills. Just tell her they’re vitamins—she’ll take it. Better to prevent things now.” Sarah raised an eyebrow, then smiled faintly and gripped the bottle.
“Alright. I’ll give it to her. You go shower, I’ll wait outside,” she said, leaving Dion’s room with the pills.

At the hospital, Anet and Ganda were now with Anna. After recounting what had happened the night before, Anna grew furious at Lydia.
“How much did she ask for?” Anna asked with teary eyes.
“She wanted two hundred million. She said she didn’t need you anymore and we could take you,” Ganda said.
Anna clenched the blanket in anger, thinking about her stepmother. She looked down and cried. Anet and Ganda exchanged worried glances.
“What’s wrong?” Anet asked gently.
“Nothing… I’ll be okay,” Anna said, trying to compose herself. She planned to confront Lydia later and demand her parents’ house documents once she recovered.
“That night… did he really…” Ganda started, but Anet gave him a sharp look to stop talking.
“Yes, that man did…” Anna confirmed, her voice low.
Anet placed a comforting hand on Anna’s shoulder.
“Let’s not talk about it now. You need to rest and recover. If you feel traumatized, let me know. Mrs. Sarah will arrange a session with a psychologist.”
Anna didn’t answer. She just needed someone to talk to.
“Anet, where’s my phone?”
“Oh! I almost forgot!” Anet reached into her bag and handed Anna her phone.
“Thanks,” Anna mumbled.
“Just rest. I’ll be here with you.”
Just then, the door opened and Sarah walked in. Anet and Ganda stood to greet her. Sarah walked over and sat beside Anna.
“Leave us,” Sarah said without looking at them. They nodded and stepped out of the room.
“How are you feeling?” she asked.
“I’m alright, Ma’am,” Anna replied with a faint smile.
Sarah nodded and gently rubbed Anna’s hand, clearly deep in thought.
“I’m sorry for what my son did. I feel terrible for what happened to you, Anna,” she said. Anna looked down, listening silently.
“Can you forgive Evan?” Sarah asked.
“Yes, Ma’am,” Anna answered nervously.
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll make sure your life is taken care of. I know I can’t restore your dignity, Anna, but I’ll provide anything you need.”
Anna shook her head slowly, remembering that Lydia had already taken compensation. She felt uncomfortable with Sarah’s offer.
“That won’t be necessary, Ma’am.”
“Why not? I don’t mind.”
Anna gave her a polite smile.
“I really appreciate you giving the compensation to my mother.”
Sarah nodded slowly, falling silent again.
“But Anna… would you still want to work for me? Not now—just think about it when you’re feeling better.” Anna nervously twiddled her fingers.
“I’ll think about it, Ma’am,” she said.
Sarah smiled, pleased by her response.
“Alright then. Oh, here—this is from the doctor. It’s a kind of vitamin to help your body recover. Take one capsule a day.” Sarah handed her the medicine, and Anna hesitated.
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Go ahead, take one now.”
“Now?” Anna asked. Sarah nodded.
“Yes, it’s good for your body. Here.” Sarah gave her a capsule and poured a glass of water.
Anna blinked, feeling confused. Something about this felt off. Still, she took the pill and brought it to her lips—but didn’t swallow. After pretending to drink it, she nodded.
“I’ll visit you more often, okay? Get well soon, Anna. I’ll head out now,” Sarah said, standing up.
“Don’t forget to take your vitamins, okay!” Anna gave a thumbs-up, making Sarah smile before walking out of the room. As soon as she left, Anna immediately took the pills out of her mouth, rinsed her mouth, and drank as much water as she could. She clutched her chest, which was beating uncontrollably, then lay back down, trying to calm herself.
After the drama with Sarah, Anna was now accompanied by her best friend Lisa, who had been in the room for a while. Lisa kept glancing at Anna with a sad look, feeling terrible about what Anna was going through. She felt deeply guilty because Anna had gotten the job through her. Lisa kept apologizing over and over, which made Anna feel bad too.
“I’m so sorry. I’m gonna yell at Dimas for giving you a job like that!” Lisa cried as Anna gently patted her shoulder.
“It’s okay. I’m fine, just… not a virgin anymore. Maybe this is just how things were meant to be. But I want to ask you a favor, can you help me?” Lisa nodded quickly. She would help Anna no matter what.
“What is it?”
“Can you take this medicine and find out what it’s for?” Anna handed her the bottle that Sarah had given her earlier.
“Why? What kind of medicine is this?” Lisa asked while looking at the bottle in her hand.
“I have no idea, that’s why I want you to find out. One more thing—please get the medicine from my drawer in Mr. Evan’s house. Just tell Anet you’re picking up my stuff. She’ll let you in. There’s another pill in a small bottle there. Please have that checked too.” Lisa nodded, understanding everything.
“Is it important?” Lisa asked again.
“That depends on the results. If it turns out like they said, then no, it’s not important. But if it turns out differently, then it’s very important.” Lisa nodded and put the medicine Anna gave her into her bag.
“Alright, after this I’ll head to Mr. Evan’s house. I’ll make sure the info is accurate.” Anna nodded with a small smile at Lisa.
“Be careful. Don’t let anyone see you when you take the medicine from my room. Most importantly, don’t make it obvious. Don’t forget to grab some of my clothes or other stuff as a distraction.” Lisa nodded, fully understanding.
“Okay, don’t worry. I know what you mean. What matters now is that you get better soon so we can hang out again.” Anna smiled, and Lisa smiled back, gently holding Anna’s hand to give her strength.
