Nina's POV
Finally, I am finished with school as I hand my last exam paper to the professor. I can't believe it! I actually finished. Unfortunately, now I have no excuse but to focus on the events of this weekend. I slowly walk to my favorite tree on campus and look at the time it is 1:05pm. I still have almost 30 minutes before Tony will be here. I sit down and just watch other students as they roam around campus. I can't help but wonder what it would be like if I was them. I shouldn't be sad, I mean I have amazing parents and great friends. Even though I'm a princess, I'm not spoiled. I have chores, I cook, I clean. Yes, we have maids but they are more like family. I clean my own room and bathroom and even have nights that I am responsible for cooking the meals. I don't feel like someone who is getting ready to take over an entire kingdom.
I am taking out of my thoughts as my friends Alicia, Trish and Megan come over. "Hey girl, so you are officially finished. I'm so jealous, we still have another semester to go." says Alicia "Speak for yourself, if I don't pass my econ class, I will have to take it over the summer." sighs Trish as she sits down beside me. "Well, I'm just glad I'm passing" laughs Megan. "Anyway, what are you over here thinking about anyway, have you decided on your dress for Saturday?" asks Trish. "Ugh, I don't know, I haven't really thought about much this year." I sigh. "Hey, do you guys feel like something big is going to happen this year for my birthday, I don't know, I just can't shake this feeling like something big is going to happen." I say. I watch as my friends kind of look at each other like they know something. "What is it? You guys look like you know something." I ask anxiously. "I mean it is your 21st birthday, you are getting ready to start grooming to take over the Kingdom. It can't get any bigger than that." muses Trish. But I can see that she hesitates and briefly glances at Alicia. Before I can say anything, my phone rings. "Hey, Tony, are you here?" I ask. "Yea, I'm waiting out front." he replies. "Ok, I'm coming." I turn to my friends, "Do you guys still have exams?" "Yea, we will meet you later this evening" says Megan. "Bye, Good luck." I say as I run to meet up with Tony.
Is it just me or is everyone acting weird. This is driving me crazy. Am I the only one that feels like it's so much more to me turning 21 than taking over the Kingdom? I reach Tony's car and he seems to be in a deep conversation with someone on the phone that he doesn't even seem to see me approaching. I open the car door and he jumps. "Not very aware of your surroundings now are we, how good of a bodyguard can you be?" I ask him jokingly. He quickly hangs up the phone without even saying goodbye and turns to me. I don't know why but I instantly feel this pull as I look into his eyes. They seem so blue. I hear him clear his throat. "Princess, you are staring, didn't your parents ever teach you that it isn't polite to stare at people." he says. "Well, you don't count and I wasn't staring." I reply. He chuckles softly as he pulls out of the university. OMG, he is so sexy, like I wonder at times what it would be like to kiss him or to be wrapped up in his arms. I would love to run my fingers through his hair and have him hold me like I see on tv. "Mhm" I hear Tony clear his throat. Dammit, I have been way to distracted lately as he pulls me out of my thoughts. "Princess, there you go again daydreaming, what's got you all distracted. I've never seen you like this." he says. I look over and see that he is fidgeting in his seat and looks like he is uncomfortable. I reply, "It's no--nothing." I stutter. He just chuckles.
Anthony's POV
Nina is so distracted lately that I know she knows something is going on but I can't say anything. As she is staring out the window, the most beautiful scent of lavender and jasmine with a hint of vanilla assaults my senses and I immediately get hard. Crap, she is aroused by something she is thinking and Goddess if she doesn't stop, I don't know if I will be able to control myself. It's been hard enough as it is to know that she is my mate for the past 5 years and that I have had to be very careful about it. I look over at her and she is doing that sexy thing she always does when she is deep in thought. She bites her bottom lip and I inwardly groan at the sight. I try to adjust myself while she is not looking and I have to say something to get her out of her thoughts or I just might have to pull this car over and handle this issue. How am I going to get through the next couple of nights. Most werewolves find their mate at 18 and don't waste time marking and mating each other. But because Nina is human and is part of the royal family, we have had to wait until her 21st Birthday to tell her anything and Goddess only knows that has been the hardest thing ever. Yes, I said "we". I guess this is where the story gets interesting and maybe now you will understand why everyone is searching for answers. Both Phoenix and Alex also recognized Nina as their mate on our 18th Birthday, when she was just 16.
