OLIVIA The room went silent. Everybody stared at me in shock, but I didn’t care. All I cared for was a response from Williams. I could see his eyes widening in shock, with many thoughts going through his head simultaneously. “Yes! I’m pregnant with your child. I wanted to tell you days ago, but you never picked my calls. You never cared to reply to my texts either. I wanted to tell you when I saw you at the hotel that day, but…” I explained. I paused to gauge his reaction, but there was a wave of nothingness written all over his face. “Brother, you really don’t believe this lying bastard could be telling the truth. Do you? It’s obvious she’s looking for a cheap excuse to make you take her back” Caroline appeared. “I am telling you the truth! I told Rose about it when I found out” I cried out. “Oh, please! For the millionth time, Olivia, keep my name off your lies. I can’t be doing this with you anymore”, Rose denied. I should have known better than think of her as a beacon of hope when she walked in. Was I hurt by her statement? Absolutely! But nothing else mattered except Williams’ response. By then, he had regained his cold demeanor and he cut in, “Leave my house!” “You really want to send me away knowing I’m with your baby?” My throat tightened. “Oh, please! I’d be a fool to fall for any more of your lies. I hate liars and I f*****g hate you, Olivia! Get the f**k out of my house before I do something I won’t regret” he thundered. That was the final straw that broke my heart completely. It seemed my tears could do no good in convincing Williams I was innocent. Everybody was against me; even my best friend. Tears trickled down my face. It was like a sharp knife pierced through my heart. The pain was so intense that I couldn’t breathe properly for some minutes. I could feel my heart about to make its way out. “It’s alright. I’ll sign it” I wiped the tears from my eyes as the pain subsided. I was done trying to prove my innocence to people that already despised me. There was no need to stay where I wasn’t loved and still trying my best to be accepted, when all I did was met with nothing but hateful words. I grabbed the pen and papers and walked towards the big table in the living room, took a seat and put my signature on every relevant place. I stared at the papers again, heaved a huge sigh and sniffed. “Here! Just as you wished” I handed him the papers. He went through them carefully to ensure I had signed on the necessary places, and responded, “Perfect. You have just a day to get your belongings and move to wherever you care. I don’t want to see you an inch close to me ever!” He said and walked off back to his room. As he left, I took a look around me. They all had a look of victory on their faces. I stared particularly at Rose, with a look that meant “Why did you do this? To what end?”, while she kept on smiling mischievously back at me. I wished I could strangle her at that point, but I barely had the strength to even kill a fly. “What are you still doing here? Shouldn’t you be on your way out now? Or do you need to call one of your numerous Man-Friends to come pick you up?” Angel blurted out. Their goal had been achieved. There was no reason for me to stay back, so I made for my way out. I kept my head high and began walking towards the door. Just as I was on my way out, Caroline grabbed me and, with a smirk, whispered to my hearing only, “You must be joking if you think we’d ever let a nobody like you bear a seed of McLaren” I was too weak to engage her. All I wanted was to go cry my eyes out in a lonely place, so I released myself from her grip and kept walking out of the compound never to see them again. That life of suffering was over. It was already dark, and I could barely see anything on the streets. All I could see was my whole life crashing before my eyes. Suddenly, a hand grabbed me from behind and pushed me into a dark alley. I tried to scream, but my mouth was quickly covered with his hand. “Don’t you dare!” He threatened. I couldn’t see his face as she was wearing a mask. “Please, don’t hurt me! You can take all the money on me, but don’t hurt me. I’m pregnant” I said, amid muffled sounds. “I don’t give a f**k about that!” He laughed mischievously. “Please… pleaaaaase” I tried screaming. “Next time, you should know that goats do not mingle with lions”, he said and kicked my abdomen. I shrieked and clutched my abdomen as I lay on the ground. “I beg you. I’m pregnant. Why are you doing this?” I cried, but it all fell on deaf ears. He hit my head on the wall about three times and as I dropped on the ground, he continued kicking my belly. The more I begged, the more he kicked. By the time he stopped. I had tears and blood all over my face. I groaned in pains, not realizing my attacker was gone. I finally mustered a little energy and tried to sit up, only to discover my panties were soaked in blood. I was bleeding. “Oh, No! My baby” I managed to speak out. I tried crawling out of the alley, but I was too weak. I could see some figures walking a few distance from me, but when I tried to scream for help, my mouth failed me. After trying so hard to reach out for help, I collapsed and everything went blank.
