CHAPTER 12
Barton and Gloria left to go to Danny’s to celebrate. Charise assured them she would join them after she talked to Hallie. She went inside and was told by Bruce that she could find Hallie and Joey upstairs. Charise went up to the apartment and knocked on the door. Joey opened the door, and Charise looked past him to see Hallie sitting on the sofa with her hair all mussed.
“Hi,” said Joey. “Come in.” He stood back and held the door open for her.
Charise entered the room. “I won’t stay long. I came by to invite you two to Danny’s. Gloria and Barton are there celebrating being awarded full scholarships to veterinary school.”
“They have full scholarships!” exclaimed Hallie. “I bet they are super excited.”
“They are,” agreed Charise. “I need to go. I told them I would join them.
