Illegitimate Son Of Carter

People change everyday. They change every minute. I remember once my mother said, "Zara, your mind will take you to places you never ever visited. But your heart, it will always wonder around people you love." And I never found her words so true until today. I may not be Zara Larsson today but the Elina Green inside me still feels the void of Zara's parents. I feel the void of them and never did I ever wish to meet them as much as I do now. When they were with me, I never thought I'd lose them and now that they're away from me, I know I can't meet them. Money is all that matters. We were famous 'cause we had money, fame and authority. But this money is the only reason of our murder. Larsson's were the richest business tycoon. But isn't that what leads to comparison? Jealousy? And ultimately the murder? We had so many enemies but even more betrayers, hidden under the cover of family. How can one sneak inside a mansion with such tight security and burn the whole mansion down? Without anyone's knowledge? The fire not only turned my whole house into a tombstone under which my family got buried. My identity burned down too. I looked at the mirror. My gray eyes held fire that once burned me and was now determined to burn the whole town down. I was not Zara Larsson anymore. I died once but not again. It was time to burn them— who killed me every single day. I pushed my glasses up, my hair falling on my face as I buttoned up my blouse. Some truths are buried where the lies are nurtured. And sometimes to find the right, to do the right, one has to be wrong. One has to do wrong. So I did what Zara Larsson could've never did in her whole life. I walked inside the underground club, where drug deals, murder plans are made every day. The club where humans are sold and bought. A club that reeks of cheap alcohol. A club where a decent girl can never enter. But I was no where decent. People turned around, lecherous desires clouding their eyes and I felt my insides churning with fear. I have never been to places like this before. But to kill the evil, one needs to embrace the evil. So I lifted my chin up, curling my lips, feigning the tantalising smile. My hips swayed as I walked slowly, my lips painted red and my eyes shining as I walked towards the bartender. "Whiskey sour," I said, tilting my head to the side as I rubbed my neck, my one leg crossing the other. Suddenly all the etiquette classes my mother forced me to took helped me now. I was exactly behaving like a girl should not behave. I pulled my lips together, looking at one of the man I knew would be here. His lewd gaze passed a shiver to run down my spine but I didn't let my smile to falter. I took the drink before taking a sip. His eyes still on me and I knew he was just a minute away from approaching me. He was Carter's man. His very strong support. And when I was almost done half way through my drink he walked towards me, making my smile to only widen. And ladies and gentlemen this is how a prey walks towards the predator. "A lady in this bar. I have never seen this before." He said and I chuckled, taking a long sip of my whiskey. I hate this s**t. "Then what are you here for, hm?" I asked, leaning closer to him and he gulped. "If not for women, what are you here for? 'Cause I can only see men coming for women in this bar." He opened his mouth to speak but let out a laughter, instead, shaking his head and I took yet another sip. How do people drink this s**t without gagging? "Exactly, I see men coming here but not even a single woman coming here willingly. What is it that brought you here, purpose or the ladies?" I laughed at his words, he is indeed smart. But I know him a lot more now. Uncle Morty. Once, he was Dad's most trusted man. Once. How we wished you didn't had betrayed us. How much I wish to kill you now. "I can assure you, ladies are not what excites me, Gentleman. It's the purpose indeed. You want something to drink?" I asked and he chuckled, shaking his head. "I can't drink. I am on duty. What's the purpose that brought such a charming lady as you in this club?" I rose my brows up at him, feigning the shocked expression. "Don't tell me you're a cop." "Oh, opposite to that, honey. I am the owner of this club— Morty." Oh, I didn't knew. "You own this club?" I asked, fake gaping at him and he smirked, leaning back as he boasted with a proud smile. "I own a lot more, honey. You want to see?" I smiled inwardly, nodding my head excitedly. "Of course. Anything to divert this mind, Morty." "Come." And with that he held my hand, taking me out of his club to the place where he often kept his victims, locked in the basement before he sold them to the highest bidder. He leads human traffic. And now he was taking me there, probably to lock me down once he would be satisfied. But today he doesn't know, it's not me who walked into his trap but him— he walked into my trap. Poor guy, doesn't know what future holds for him. "This is what gives me the most profit." He said and I nodded my head, looking at him. "Do you know what is it, honey?" He asked, opening the shutter, letting me see all the abducted women, stuffed like animals and I smiled, looking at him as disgust crippled inside me. I'll free them. Oh, Morty. I'll show you what it is. "Let me guess, human trafficking? Prostitution? Auctions? And probably supplying all these women to Carter, no?" His smug smile fell down as he turned around to look at me in disbelief. He took a step back, probably to remove his gun from his back pocket but I was quick to action. I kicked his hand, letting the shiny metal to fall down with a clink. "Who are you?" He asked, fear clear as day in his eyes and I felt the evil side of me dominating me as I kicked him in the gut, pushing him on the ground before I pressed my feet on his neck, smiling sweetly at him. "Forgot me already, Morty? Don't worry I'll remind you of everything, slowly and painfully. You remember, I said I am here with a purpose. Guess what, it was to destroy you. See you soon, honey." And that I knocked him off. ~~~~~~~ "Here's the recording of Morty's illegal business." I said, pushing the C.D. towards Benjamin and he rose his brows up, impressed as I gave him the evidence against Morty. "You got me the evidence against Morty but why did you release all those girls? And how is Morty even related to Carter? Why the hell are you wasting my time in such a useless person as such him?" I smiled, shaking my head as I leaned back in his plush chair. "I guess it's true then, right, Benjamin?" I said and he narrowed his eyes at me. "What's right?" "That power and money cannot compensate the lack of brain, no?" His eyes burned with visible anger and I snorted, shaking my head. "Carter's your biggest rival, Benjamin and still you don't know a s**t about him." "What. Do. You. Mean?" He gritted out and I rolled my eyes, removing a copy of documents from my bag before throwing it at his table. "Morty is Carter's illegitimate child, Benjamin." I said slowly and his eyes widened as he looked at me, shocked. "Carter has an illegitimate child?" He asked, gripping the documents in his hand as he quickly flipped the pages, reading them. And a smile curled on his face. How someone's destruction can make one happy is sadistic. "How did you get this?" "I broke in his system, remember?" "f**k! That means Carter is cheating on his wife! But with whom?" He asked and I sighed, raising my brows at him. He's really slow. "No wonder people like Carter are ahead of you, Benjamin. You are f*****g dumb and slow. It's his sister in law. Carter is cheating on his wife's sister." "Alyssa? He's cheating on his wife with Alyssa? This is freaking news!" He said, his eyes twinkling like that of a child who just got his birthday present. "You can't just reveal this in front of everyone, Benjamin!" I gritted out and he furrowed his brows at me. "Why not?" "And how did you get a hold of the document that proves Morty is Carter's illegitimate child?" I asked and he rose his brows before nodding at me. "You gave me the documents, Miss Green." I took a deep breath, closing my eyes. How can a person as dumb as Benjamin make plans to murder my whole family? "Yes, I did, Benjamin. But did I get a hold of these?" "You broke into his syste........" He trailed off, realization hitting him. "Exactly. I broke in his system, Benjamin! This is illegal. You don't want to know how jail feels like, right?" "Then what's the use of getting me these information, Miss Green, when I can't even use it?" He asked, now getting annoyed and I simply smiled. "I never said you can't use it, Benjamin. We can use the video of him involved in human trafficking to blackmail Carter to provide you with half of his shares." He again rose his brows at me, leaning against the table. "You think Carter will give me half of his shares for an illegitimate child. He is not a fool, Miss Green." "He is not but you are, Benjamin." I muttered under my breath before looking at him. "Carter is dangerous. Everyone's scared of him but he is scared of Alyssa. And once the news of his extra marital affair is out, his wife— Sophia would literally kill him. You see, Benjamin, if he won't help Morty, Alyssa will kill him. And to protect himself from the wrath of Sophia— his wife, he'll have to keep everything hidden. He has no option but to comply." He looked at me, impressed. "But that won't get him down in the ashes, Miss Green. Carter can built his empire again from a small twig. Leaving him with half of his shares is still risky, especially after blackmailing him." "Oh, Benjamin, I think it's time for you to retire from your Mafia position. You're getting too old to understand the master plans anymore." His fingers curled in a fist as my words provoked him. "You're crossing your limits, Miss Green." His deadly voice barked and I snorted. "Even you should try crossing the boundaries of your intelligence sometimes, no? Benjamin, you can't viral those videos and documents now. But I never said you can't viral them once he has given you his fifty percent of shares. Destroy him after breaking him. But first, profit yourself." He opened his mouth to speak but closed it once he realised what I said was really profitable. "You— you impressed me there, Miss Green. No wonder you're such a smart young lady." "I know my worth, Benjamin. I'll see you again with more news of Carter." I rose up from the chair, stuffing the banknotes inside my bag and almost stepped out of his office when he called me out again and I turned around, enough to look at him. "Just one question, Miss Green." "Hm?" "Carter is my business rival. But why are you so keen on destroying him? Who are you, Miss Green?" I smiled at his question. Why am I so keen in destroying Carter? Well what can I say? This situation will land on you too, dearest Benjamin. "I am the one who is helping you to destroy Carter. And no, I don't have any interest in destroying him. I just need money. A loads of them. For which I can break into anyone's system and sell their secrets out. Be cautious with the amount you offer, Benjamin. You never know when can someone offer me money more than you." "Are you threatening me, Miss Green?" He asked, his eyes flashing dangerously and I smiled, looking at him. "I am telling you the truth, Benjamin." "Why not blackmail him and get the fifty percent of his shares, yourself?" "You're suspicious today." I smiled before looking up at him. "I have talent and mind which you lack, Benjamin. And you have power and authority which I still didn't possess. You need me as much as I need you. Any more questions because for every minute you'll waste of me, I'll add a hundred dollar in my bills." He gritted his teeth before he nodded towards the door. "Never have I ever seen a lady so greedy." He muttered under his breath and I scoffed, leaving his office.
