Melody
Shopping. It was Melody’s nightmare. The Alpha had taken her to a shopping centre miles away, to get her out, he said. He sang all the way there. Out of tune rock songs. It had be amusing and for the millionth time Melody wished that she could speak, that she could laugh as easily as the huge man beside her in the car, that she could sing freely. Instead, she just sat there, fiddling with one of her curls. Denys had asked her to wear her hair down today after she had got washed and changed into a shirt and some shorts. She tugged the leg down, covering one of the scars on her leg. She hated shorts. They showed the world some parts of her that she didn’t want seen. Denys glanced over at her, raising an eyebrow in a question. His reaction had been the same as everyone elses earlier when she had emerged from her room. His eyes had immediately been drawn to the silver cuts crossing over her creamy skin. The jeans that she had been wearing the day before had already been put in the wash. She had no choice but to wear the shorts. Denys had given such a dark look to the worst one, the one on her knee and promised her that if she wanted, the first shop that they found he would get her whatever clothes she wanted and she could change then and there. It is what made her agree to go with him ultimately.
Finally they reached the shops and, true to his word, Denys immediately dragged her into a shop. She didn’t even see the name on the store before he gently pushed the small of her back towards the female clothes. The shirt she had on was fine, for now but she needed jeans. Not even that. She just needed trousers. She needed to cover what had happened to her.
Denys
He browsed some shelves, letting Melody have the freedom to look for what she wanted with no input from him. She nibbled on her bottom lip as she looked for whatever. He forced himself to look away else he would stare at her all day. She didn’t even realise how breathtaking she was. How anyone could have ever dreamed of touching her like she had obviously been touched, even worse marring that beautifully clear skin was beyond him.
She found something she wanted, it was the cheapest pair of trousers that she could find and her eyes silently begged for them. He smiled and took them from her, ripping the tag off and sending her to change if she wanted. He took the tag to the till and paid. When she exited the changing rooms her whole demeanour had relaxed. She really hated people seeing her skin he realised. Who knew that a girl who couldn't utter a word would be the one that would capture his heart so completely.
When she returned she gave him that half smile that he had grown to watch for. Now suitibly attired, Melody unwillingly allowed him to buy her a few things. He had wanted to buy more but she had grown so upset at the idea that he was unwilling to push her.
The way home was quiet. He flipped the radio on but within minutes he could see Melody withdrawing slightly, and so he turned it back off again.
"Do you like music?" He asked. She took a moment then nodded. "But not that song?" Melody sighed in reply, and looked out of the window. "You will have to tell me things eventually." Denys said. He changed the radio station and started to hum along to the song.
He could see Melody press her forehead against the window and close her eyes. He didnt know if she was actually asleep or just pretending to get him to stop questioning her.

They got home finally and Melody ran upstairs as soon as he unlocked the door. She didnt deserve him being this nice to her. She was using him, using the size of his pack to protect her. She was never supposed to actually like any of the people here. They were Wolves, for the love of... She locked herself in the bathroom and put the shower on. She stripped and looked at herself in the mirror. The silvery lines that crossed her body stood out to her. The Alpha had seen her legs. She saw the look in his eyes when he did. The pity. She shivered, she had always hated the way she looked. The steam filled the room and she stood under the scalding hot water. She needed this, the jets burning her as she scrubbed her skin raw with the rough sponge that had been bought for her. It was almost like she was trying to scratch the marks away from her. Instead the scars seemed to grow red and angry on her pale skin. Melody choked on a small, tearless sob. Then, she passed out.
Denys
He heard the thud in the bathroom on his trip back from the car with the bags.
"Melody?" He called up, wondering what she was doing up there. Instantly he felt stupid as he was waiting for a reply. Even if she wasnt alright it wasnt like she could tell him. He dropped the bags off outside her room, and knocked on the bathroom door. He could hear the shower, and see the steam but something felt off. She hadnt been right since they had left the shops.
"Little Cat, Im coming in." He warned, waiting a moment before unlocking the door with his card. Instantly he was glad that he had those newer locks, that he had changed from having the big key.. If he hadnt, well. She would have boiled herself alive. He quickly turned the water off before she did any more to her already damaged body. He threw a towel over her, trying not to look too much at her nakedness. f**k though, she turned him on. He wrapped the towel around her and slid his arms beneath her back to cradle her to his chest. She was so small and light that it wasnt much effort. He took her to the room he had given to her and laid her down there.
'Saera,' He sent a mental message. 'I need you,'
'Why? Im busy.' She messaged back.
He gritted his teeth and send a mental image of Melody to her. Moments later Saera had knocked on his front door and entered.
"f**k man." She said as she started to go over the prone girl before them. "What did you do to her. She looks like shes been sitting in a kettle."
Denys shrugged. "I took her shopping." He said
