As the morning continued the group kept walking. Next thing they know, they can see the top of the next castle.
"Well, here we go again." Syla says. They continue walking until they reach the gate to the village.
"Well, were wanted now so we need to be careful. Keep your heads low and dont speak to anyone." Everyone nods. Everyone looks to the floor and walks into the village. They make it through the village and stop at the castle gate.
"So, what's the plan?" Link walks up to Lydias side.
"Go with the flow." A second later a guard comes around the corner. They spot the group.
"Hey!" He starts to run over to the group. Lydia grips her sword handle. Once the guard reaches them Lydia slowly lets go of her sword. The guard stops in front of Lydia. "Lydia?" Lydia looks at the guard confused then has a face a realization.
"Trystan?" The guard looks at everyone else.
"Yeah. Long time no see. Who is everyone else and why are you here?"
"Um, this is Link, Garland, Arden, and Syla. Well, lets just say were here to settle a personal matter." Link walks up to Lydias ear and whispers.
"Who is this and how do you know him?" Lydia looks back to Link.
"This is Trystan. Our families were close." Link looks Trystan up and down.
"Oh okay." Link backs up.
“Well, it was nice seeing you.” Lydia nods and Trystan walks away. Lydia walks into the castle with everyone following behind. They get into the castle and walks up a long stair way up to the kings room. Once to the room, Lydia pushes open the doors. The room looked almost exactly the same as the last monarchs room. The king stands quickly.
“Who are yo-“ The king stops and walks over to Lydia. “Lydia.. What brings you here?”
“You know I would rather do anything but talk to you. So dont start. Arden.” Arden grabs his box of matches and lights all of the matches in the box. He steps to be right next to Lydia. The king looks over to Arden and sees the box of matches. The kings eyes widen.
“Guards!!!” Guards start to come from the corner of the room.
“Arden, now!!” Arden throws the box of matches onto the bed. The bed catches on fire and the flames start to spread. Lydia looks to see guards coming. “Run. Run!! Get out of the castle!” Everyone starts running except for Lydia who runs into the room and closes the doors once the other four are on the stair case. Once the doors to the room close shut the four turn quickly to see the Lydia isn’t with them.
“Lydia?” Syla whispers. Links eyes widen. He starts to run toward the doors but Arden and Garland grab his arms and stop him.
“Lydia!!” Link yells out.
-Back to Lydia-
As Lydia hears Link yelling, she grabs her sword and puts it through the door handles so that no one could come in or out. The king starts to cough and falls to his knees.
“Long live the king.” The king looks up at Lydia with his hand covering his mouth while he continues to cough. Lydia looks to both of the guards. “I’m not going to do anything. You dont have to try.” The guards start to cough. Lydia grabs the bag off of her back and grabs the rope. She throws the bag back over her shoulder and goes over to the window by the desk. The guards and king are coughing to much to do anything. Lydia coughs a few times then continues. She ties one end of the rope to a leg of the desk. She pushes open the window and throws the rope out. She grabs the rope and gets on the window sill. She turns around and walks onto the wall. Still hanging onto the rope tightly she she pushes her self off of the wall and swings back and hits the window shut with her feet. She starts to climb down the wall with the rope. Once she makes it to the ground she jumps onto the grass and lets go of the rope. She falls to her knees and starts coughing. As the others exit the castle they run out of the castle gates. As they’re running Syla turns around and looks up at the flames. When she goes to turn around she catches a glimpse of a person kneeling in the grass. Syla stops running.
“Guys!!” They all stop running and walk back over to Syla. They all look in the same direction that sylas looking.
“Is that...” Arden stops mid sentence. Link starts to run over to Lydia. Once he makes it over he makes it over he gets on his knees in a hurry. He grabs her cheeks and lifts her head to look at him.
“Lydia...” Link sighs in relief and lets go of her face. Arden grabs a water out of the bag.
“Here drink this.” Lydia grabs the water.
“Thanks.” Her voice is a little gravely because of the smoke. “Ill be fine.” Lydia nods her head and stands up. “This should be the last monarchy that would’ve known.” Everyone sighs in relief.
“We should get out of here. We’re already wanted.” Garland says. Everyone nods. Link looks to Lydia. Lydia nods. Everyone starts running and Lydia follows behind slowly while looking back at the large flames, smoke and ash that fills the sky.
