For the next week Marcus and I only seen each other at meal times we had managed to avoid each other. Isabella and Jacqueline husband had gone home for work but were coming back tonight for the weekend.

I had been spending heaps of time with the girls and kids which was nice so Emma and I decided we would watch the kids Saturday night while Isabella and Jacqueline went to dinner with their husbands.

We were two minutes from motel and as much as I didn’t want to send the following text to Isabella I had to.

We pull into motel my phone beeps with a message from Isabella phone

I turn to Marcus pleading please talk to me here while we’re alone I’m not letting you leave without talking to me and the kids are upstairs.

He yelled at his girls to get their stuff we’re leaving in 5 minutes I shook my head but pointed towards the bedroom. I followed him into main bedroom and shut the door.

Marcus tell me what is wrong. I have avoided you this week to make it easier. I’ll speak with mrs Jones but please speak to me. You owe me that at least.

What is wrong he yelled I’ll tell you I came out here for a break from city, job and people I tried to buy some land to build a house oh and low and behold another person had done the same thing with the land but from the very moment we meet and spoke I knew I wanted to be friends with that woman.

They way you cared about your kids and how you wanted the same as me I knew we were meant to be friends so I suggested sharing the land. The trip out here where we found out about each other lives I knew the moment I heard about your husband I felt more then friendship but still I wanted to get to know you.

Then you wanted to help mrs Jones and I agreed not because you needed me or I wanted more work but because I knew it was a away to keep being friends with you. When I turned up Thursday night and you had left dinner for me I was blown away you are amazing.

When I was so busy I forgot to do the stuff for the ball and mrs Jones scolded me I got it you had done so much for me and the girls and yet I couldn’t remember to do that. So I worked hard to fix it with help.

Then Saturday night you walked into reception with Stephanie i at first was distracted by my beautiful 14 year old daughter looking so beautiful and elegant all because of the drop dead gorgeous woman next to her.

Then mrs white grandson happen and I was less then impressed that I was loosing my baby. I didn’t tell you how gorgeous you looked because I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.

I didn’t hold your arm or hand to the ball because I knew I wouldn’t want to let go. All night I antagonise about the guys you were dancing with but you didn’t indicate you wanted me so I refrained.

While your family and friends have been here I have tried to say nothing but I’m not going to stand around and listen to that woman tell me how I f****d up and lost the best thing to happen to me. She might own the rest of the town but she doesn’t own me.

With a sigh and a tear I’m sorry Caitlyn I never meant for this to be like this.

First of all I. Thought we were becoming friends that’s why I do what I do around here and I muck around calling you hubby. But then when you dropped the girls off to the salon and I corrected Macy about you not being my husband so you knew I had not said you were. She started to flirt with you and in my heart a pang of annoyance occurred.

When you didn’t comment on my appearance that night or escort me properly I was sure you didn’t even see me as a friend. You didn’t approach me at all and when some guys made a comment about me being your wife. Your answer was we are business partners.

I was so upset but with myself you never indicated more then that and I had started to have feelings for you. I have already been with someone who became bored of me enough to kill himself. I wasn’t going to pine over someone who didn’t even treat me as a friend.

As for mrs Jones you here or not I will be talking with her and I apologise I never wanted you to be friends with me because someone was forcing you.

Marcus I like you as. Business partner as a friend and more but I don’t know what to do from here. I had become so emotional tears were flowing. Marcus walked over pull me into a hug and kiss my forehead.

I want to say let’s try being friends and see where it goes but (Caitlyn drop her head looking to the floor I raised her head with my hands) but I honestly know I do not want any other guy near you.

I propose we all go to dinner at the pub the kids can play and I can get to know your family and friends and we can discuss our dating terms later I said with a smile. Caitlyn grinned I leaned in to kiss her and just as I about to kiss her a knock at the door. I let out a soft growl and opened the door. Stephanie was at the door.

What are we doing for dinner tonight as we walked into the lounge dining we noticed everyone there. Marcus looked at his daughter wondering why she was asking then looked at everyone I would like to get to know Caitlyn family and friends better so I think we should go to the pub there’s a games room for the kids.

After dinner can I go out dancing with the girls Jason and his friends are going too. Jason was mrs white grandson.

Wait are they not going to a club there 18 it’s actually another level of the pub I heard a male voice from the door say. I looked Jason why are you at 15 hanging out there? I’m 19 he snapped back.

Marcus approached me kissing me on the lips our daughter he said before kissing me again. I think I just fell harder for you he smiled.
