Trip to Logan

Caitlyn

It was 3.30pm when Caitlyn and the kids took off on there trip, Daniel and Hugo weren’t as excited, as they had a feeling there would be no internet where they end up. Ruby was a bit like Caitlyn and was always looking for the next new thing.

Caitlyn Drove to where she didn’t know, but just knew she didn’t want it to be to far away. Around 6.00pm Caitlyn hit a small town with some land on outskirts of town for sale the night sky had started to set as it was winter time.

Caitlyn drove 15 minutes till she hit a small town called Logan the kids were excited when there Mum pulled up at a small motel in town.

They got some room service and she begins to relax as the kids were all playing together calmly. Mrs white the lady at reception had given Caitlyn some brochures to look over when she enquired about the town.

The town wasn’t as small as what Caitlyn thought it was just spread out more, houses a few kms from each other. There was a school , doctors ,police station fire station, boutiques, restaurants the motel which also had a bar but for some reason only a small grocery shop.

Caitlyn woke on Saturday morning after the most wonderful sleep she had in a long time. They had breakfast and looked through the town. Whats next Mum? Daniel asked, as if he couldn’t wait to get out of here.

Lunch at the land for sale so I can check it out Caitlyn replied as walking into a small deli. They drove to the land for sale and had lunch on a picnic blanket.

Perfect Caitlyn thought I can see a house overlooking the view kids playing outside and the picnics we could have. Ok kids pack up let’s go we have been here 3 hours time to head home.

When Caitlyn arrived home and unpacked it was like they have never left with kids fighting and each been separated to their own rooms.

Looking through her bag she pulled out the only real estate in town brochure with contact been sally or Fred she decided to text sally.

“Sally I visited the vacant land on the outskirts of Logan today and was wondering if we could meet at 11.30 Monday to discuss sale

Caitlyn ”. Almost straight away she got a response.

“Would be delighted to meet with you at my office sally”

Caitlyn was so excited she began research all of what she needed to make her plan work before Monday’s meeting.

Marcus

It was 10 am on Saturday morning when Marcus and the girls took off on their journey. Dad Stephanie asked before hearing yes darling. Where are we going? A town called Logan.

Before Stephanie could ask why her father continued there is a part time position available there and I want to check out properties for a house.

The girls all gasp what about school, our friends Aunty Louise and Uncle Tony. Then jade continued please dad I promise not to be upset by what people say again I don’t want to move.

Calm down girls it’s a part time position weekends mostly we will still live with Aunty Louise and uncle tony and you will still remain at school.

A sigh from each of the girls could be heard making Marcus smile before Arabella asked why do we need to look at houses then? With a pout on her face.

Well I thought if there is nice land for sale I could take up the job there and build a house for us on my off days from work during the week and weekends while out here.

Will Aunty Louise and uncle tony come too Arabella smile asking her daddy. Maybe sometimes but girls you need to understand Aunty Louise and uncle tony just got married 6 months before Arabella was born then had us move in with them.

It might be nice if we could give them some time to themselves and we can have our family time too.what do you think ? The girls all looked at each other then Stephanie replied let’s just see the town first dad . Marcus smiled back.

When they arrived on outskirts of the town they seen a vacant land overlooking as far as the eye could travel and next to it was a tiny run down cottage.

The girls ran around the land playing tips and taking in the possibilities, Marcus discreetly texted Fred about a meeting for Monday to discuss land sale.

Come on girls next stop police station. They drove 15 minutes into town and arrived at police station. Where Marcus meet the sheriff who was only to thrill to have Marcus take up the position.

Marcus took the girls to the motel where he meet mr white at reception. So Marcus I hear your taking up a position in our local police station. Marcus looked shocked mr white looked amused before saying small town Marcus everybody knows everybody here.

Marcus smiled before heading to the room, Where him and the girls settled in to watch a movie together as a family.

The next morning the girls decided to let their dad enjoy his sleep and went for a walk around town. Arabella found a bakery for breakfast after they were done they got a chocolate croissant for their dad.

They then past several boutiques remembering which ones they want to visit on the next trip. On there way back to motel they stopped and collected the morning paper and coffee for their dad.

Marcus woke to the girls saying breakfast is ready when he opened his eyes he knew this is where they would find happiness the three girls where smiling and holding breakfast for him.
