A mother must show love, patience, understanding and kindness, not only as a lesson for her children to follow, but also, to mend whatever cracks that might come up in the relationship she has built with her children.
Madam Abby A has not lived an easy life since she lost her husband. Her children might not see how much she struggled, yet she lived with the ache of not having the man she loved to be by her side, loving, supporting and sharing with her. As a kind mother, she is not blind to how much the father's death had affected the pace by which her son grew or how difficult Olyse's task had been to save the company his father had inherited. Olyse was third generation and going in not prepared made the job even more challenging. Madam remembered with pain the day she had been unable to hold out against speaking up. Olyse was present in Mayfield the next morning like he had not been away at college.
