Chapter One
He runs out of his father’s mansion Into the street.
He was tired
He was exhausted
He was drained
He was downcast
His father has taken his shred of emotional and mental strength. But still he ran.
He did not want this pressure
He needed to let out some steam.
So he ran some more.
“I am good enough” He ratted to himself as he ran.
“I will never be like him” He ratted again as thoughts he saw as crude ran through his mind.
It began to rain, causing his foggy mind to be blurry as thoughts went through his head in a haze.
His feet sunk to the ground as he could no longer move them. His breathing becomes ragged as he placed his hands on his knees to catch his breath.
He spent most of his days like this. Trying to keep up with an overbearing father. On days like this, he wished he had his mother. He wished what happened never happened.
These thoughts overwhelming his brain, and the weak heart in a twenty year old’s body.
It was too much for him. His chest constricts and he places his hand on his chest to ease the hurt. His throat felt tight. He needed air.
He chokes on a sob. His body becomes too heavy so he drops to the ground. He lays on his back as the heavy downpour rains on his irresponsive body. He closes his eyes as tears run down the side of his face. He swallowed and his throat bobs up and down.
Footsteps are heard from his rear view but he makes no move to check who it is. Infact he barely notices any movement, zeroing all sounds to the sound of the heavy downpour.
“Are you okay?” A small voice resonates through his ears. His ears perk up at the sound. He knew that voice. He wouldn’t miss it anytime. He thought his head was playing pranks on him as he thought he heard his mother’s voice. No, he knew he heard his mother’s voice.
He hears the voice again and this time he jolts from the ground causing the figure to jump back.
“Mom?” He Squints his eyes through the rain as he could barely see.
The feminine figure helps him off the ground onto the side of the road.
His sight became a little clearer and he saw a very beautiful girl. His breath hitched as he took in her features. No it was not his mom, but someone…. Different.
In a few seconds, his thoughts changed as he locked eyes with the young lady in front of him. He wondered who she was but words failed him when he tried to speak.
“Are you okay?” Her small voice resonates through his ears again.
He tries to speak as his eyes zeroed on her worried features but once again, words failed him.
Gone were the thoughts if his overbearing father as he found a strange peace just being around this girl.
He did not know what it was, he could not put a finger on it. So he did it.
He did the first thing that came to his mind.
He placed his lips on hers. He kissed her. As soon as his lips touched hers, he sighed. He feels her body turn rigid as she freezes but he does not stop. He further presses his lips on hers.
But before he could go any further she pushes him and slaps him. Hard.
But he does not flinch, even as she lands two more on his face. But he still did not move as he stares at her. His mind still too blank and void to hold a single thought. He looked at her moving lips and the frown on her face. She was angry but he was too distracted to notice.
“You don’t just go around kissing people just because you have an emotional problem. That is just so stupid and absurd!” That was the last thing he heard. Before he could register any other thing he saw her walking away angrily.
He wanted to run after her, ask for her name or something but his body was not cooperating with his mind.
His mind reeled with thoughts. Who was she? Where did she live? What was her name? Why did he feel like that just by the sound of her voice?
He didn’t notice that the rain had stopped as he was lost in the thoughts of her.
He wanted to see her again. He wanted to touch her again, he wanted to kiss her again.
But then, the scary thoughts of his father came back and all of a sudden, he had a need to protect this girl from his father or anything at all. But he knew he could not do that if he didn’t have enough money or power.
So he said to himself that he was going to work hard, gain enough and when he is stable he would find her. He didn’t know how he would find her. He didn’t know how he would do that, but he had that conviction that he was going to find her
He was going to find her.
