Chapter 22

Cassandra's POV:

''We need to treat her! Just turn her into one of us! She's clearly not going to make it tonight!'' I shouted at him. I am desperate. Aubrey's injuries were worst than we thought. She has a broken bone on her chest that caused a collapsed lung. Even if we take her to the hospital we are not sure if she will make it. She has more chance eof surviving with us, if we turn her.

''No! I will not turn her without her permission! It is the least that we can give her,'' My brother said. He is being unreasonable. Aubrey might not make it. We have already asked the presence of the royal doctor. He is on his way. This would've been over if he just bites Aubrey and turn her!

''But--'' he cut me off.

''End of discussion! Now, Whare is that f*ckin doctor!'' He hissed.. He was pacing back and forth. We took Aubrey back to her Condo and laid her down the bed. She looked lifeless. I couldn't bear to see her like this. She was always a jolly and bubbly person. I was annoyed by her attitude like that, at first but its what makes he who she is. The door suddenly opened and the royal doctor went in.

''Finally!'' I said in joy. I am hoping he has a solution.

''I need her to be healed but I will not turn her. Do you know any methods?'' My brother asked immediately.

''Let me check her first, your highness. If I may,'' He said respectfully as he bows. My brother made way for him to pass. We watched him as he walked towards her and assessed her condition. I could see my brother waiting anxiously and impatiently.

''So?'' He spoke. The Doctor stood up and grabbed something in his bag. It was a large needle that was empty.

''What is that for?'' I asked.

'' I need his highness's venom.'' He said.

''What? We cannot turn her into a vampire!'' Wane said in an argument.

'' We won't your highbness. We need your blood and I will inject this straight into her heart and let a little of your venom heal her for a few minutes and then we are going to suck all of it back.'' He explained.

''But it will be pain ful for her... I cannot inflick her more pain,'' He said and looked at the ground.

''But it will save her brother, without turning her into one of us.'' I said as I agreed with the doctor's suggestion.

''Fine, do whatever you must. I will give you my venom and you just handle the rest.'' kHe said and he grabbed the needle that the doctor handed. He extracted his venom and gave it back tot he doctor. When He finally got it, the doctor went near Aubrey and struck her heart with the needle.

''I cannot watch this,'' he said and went outside the room. I remained there and watched aubrey tossing and turning in pain. she was in agony, she screamed in pain and it somehow pained me. I really did become close to a human to be able to feel like this. The venom spread throughout the body, her veins turning black as it travelled to every part of her wounded, bruised and broken body. I avoided the scene. The docotr was there waiting for the right moment to extract the venom as soon as she starts to heal. I never knew you could do this. I just do not know if it will work just fine for Aubrey. He was healed by my brother before but it was only a small ounce of his venom when she was in trouble before. If comapred to now, there is a very huge difference to it.

The doctor then extracted the venom after a few minutes and her body calmed down.

''Will she be alright now?'' I asked. The docotr stood up and went near me.

''We will know more once she wakes up but for now, she will be okay.'' He said and courtsied and went out the door. I stared at Aubrey's body and went near her.

Aubrey's POV:

I could hear people talking but I don't have the strength to fully open my eyes. I could feel my body strangely like its is burning. What happened to me?

I can finally remember someone took me and knocked me out in the street and then I was in a cabin... Yes, I know I saw Wane. He was there and he told me to run! Where is Wane? Where am I?!

I tried to open my eyes but I can't. The voices I hear is getting nearer. It sounds like they are arguing.

''I know she will be fine, Aubrey's a strong woman.'' I heard the famioliar voice. it was Cass.

''Just tell me as soon as she wakes up,'' a mans voice said.

''Aren't you going to stay with her?'' I heard asked.

Why will she let his brother stay with me? Me and Cass is much more closer to each other and I know her more. This conversation is just giving me a headache.

''I am going hunting,'' I heard him say in a stern baritone voice. I heard Cass letting out a sight. I heard footsteps getting near me and finally touching my hand. It somehow sent an electrical feeling towards my body but I felt safer with the touch.

''I will kill those lowly vampires who did this to you. I will hunt them, one by one.''

And there I froze with what he said.

Vampires...

Memories of clear visoin of that night flashed through my mind. Vanmpire... It really was real? Vampires are real?!

I remember seeing Wane grabbing that mans heart with his hands and fuingers like it was nothing. It was real? Are both of them Vampires?

But what does that have to do with me? Why did those 'vampires' targeted me? I just strated to know them. We aren't even that close... well me and wane. Cass, she's my friend and shes...
