She sold her body for one reason—to save her dying mother.

But fate punished her with more pain than she ever imagined.

When Lina Lux rushed her mother to the hospital, the doctor’s words shattered her: pay for surgery or lose her mother forever. Desperate and alone, she made the most painful decision of her life.

One night. One stranger. One sin she would never forget.

That stranger was Andrew Parker, the arrogant, heartless billionaire heir who believed money could buy everything—even people.

But days later, Andrew’s reckless life came crashing down in a devastating accident that erased every memory he ever had.

Months later, when Lina and Andrew’s paths cross again, he doesn’t recognize her… but she remembers him too well. The man who once broke her becomes the man who unknowingly holds her heart—and the father of her child.

When the truth resurfaces and memories return, love turns into war.

Can a man haunted by his past and a woman scarred by her pain find redemption in each other?

Or will his broken memory destroy the only woman who ever truly loved him?

Chapte One: A Mother's Collapse
The night was quiet—too quiet for the storm that was about to tear Lina Lux’s world apart. The old ceiling fan groaned as it spun, pushing warm air around the tiny room that smelled faintly of herbs and hope. On the small wooden bed lay her mother, frail and sweating, her breath coming in shallow gasps. “Mama, please drink this,” Lina whispered, lifting a bowl of water mixed with crushed leaves. Her hand trembled as she brought it close. Her mother managed a weak smile. “You worry too much, my child. I’ll be fine.” Lina shook her head. “You said that yesterday, and the day before. It’s getting worse. We need a doctor, Mama.” Her mother laughed softly, the sound rough and tired. “And pay him with what, Lina? With the dreams we don’t have?” Before Lina could answer, her mother’s smile faded. Her eyes rolled back, her body stiffened—and then went still. “Mama?” Lina froze. “Mama!” She shook her. No response. Panic clawed at her chest. Lina slapped her cheeks gently, pressed trembling fingers to her neck. Nothing. Her heart exploded in fear. She screamed, stumbling out of the house. “Somebody help me! Please!” A few neighbors rushed out in confusion. One man helped her lift her mother into an old taxi that coughed like it might die on the road. The driver sped through the dark streets, his horn screaming for space. Lina held her mother’s hand tight, whispering through tears, “Please stay with me, Mama. Please.” The hospital’s harsh fluorescent lights blinded her as nurses rolled her mother away. Lina stood in the hallway, shaking, her palms sticky with sweat. The smell of antiseptic burned her nose. Minutes dragged into hours until finally, the doctor stepped out, adjusting his glasses. “Are you her daughter?” he asked. “Yes. Please, is she okay?” He sighed. “She’s alive for now, but her organs are shutting down. We need to operate immediately.” “Then do it!” Lina cried. “Please, I’ll do anything!” The doctor hesitated. His gaze dropped to her threadbare dress and worn slippers. “The surgery costs four hundred and fifty thousand naira,” he said softly. “We can’t begin without payment.” Lina’s breath caught. “Four hundred and—what? Doctor, I don’t have that kind of money.” He looked away. “Then I suggest you find it quickly. Time isn’t on your side.” Her world tilted. She pressed a shaking hand to her forehead, blinking back tears. “Please, save her first. I’ll pay. I swear I’ll pay.” “I’m sorry.” He turned and walked away. Lina stood frozen in the corridor, the sound of her heartbeat echoing in her ears. When she finally looked up, the wall clock read 9:45 PM. She had barely two hours before her mother would be gone. She ran out into the cold night, desperate, hopeless, and barefoot. She went from door to door, from neighbor to neighbor, begging for help. Some turned her away. Others closed their doors without a word. By the time rain began to fall, Lina sat by the roadside, drenched and shaking. Her tears mixed with the rain, her lips whispering the only prayer she knew. “Please, God, don’t take her. I’ll do anything. Just… don’t take her.” Then she heard laughter—a woman’s laughter—coming from across the street. Under a flickering streetlight stood a group of women dressed in tight, shiny clothes, leaning against cars as men approached. Their smiles were fake, but their wallets were real. Lina stared at them, realization dawning slowly and painfully. The money she needed wasn’t going to fall from heaven. The doctor’s words rang again in her ears: “We can’t begin without payment.” Her heart raced. Her mother’s face flashed before her eyes. She stood, legs trembling. Rain dripped from her chin as she took one step toward the light. Then another. Every part of her screamed to stop, but love drowned out the shame.
