"s**t!" Danica muttered as she realized her locker was empty. "Great!" She said slamming her locker.
"What's wrong?" Avery asked, who was already dressed in kit, a white t-shirt and a pair of shorts.
"I don't have my kit."
"Don't worry you can wear my spare set." Avery handed her the clothing.
"Thanks," Danica said taking the spare set. She took them out of the bag holding up a sports bra and short shorts. "Seriously, Avery? These are your spare set?"
"Uh huh." she nodded.
"You kept these as your spare to teach me a lesson."
"Not really, but it still works, I kept them as spare just to make sure I get my kit."
"Ass," she mumble putting of the shorts displaying her long tanned legs. The sports bra displayed her flat stomach. "Must admit I look good." She grinned.
"Vain much?"
"Not really, just the honest truth."
"Come on, let's go you can admire yourself later."
"Wait, I need to retie my hair." Danica turned around looking in the large mirror as she tied her hair in a messy bun.
"Oh my gosh, Dan? When did you get a tattoo?" Avery squealed.
"What? A tattoo? What tattoo?"
"Do your parents know? Does Chris know? Does James know, I bet he does!"
"Ave! Where? What tattoo are you on about?"
"That humongous one on the right side of your back almost reaching your spine!"
"What's going on?" Mason burst into the room with a panic look."Oh s**t," he muttered when he saw Danica in her sports bra and short shorts with Avery standing next to her. "I heard shouting..." His eyes began to cloud over, darkening with desire and lust. "Um..." he swallowed, "I'll be waiting outside."
The look in his eyes made Danica feel never felt feelings, so strong that it made it hard to talk.
"We'll be out in five," Avery told him, with a nod he left. Avery gave her that knowing grin.
"Take a picture with your phone and show me what you're on about!"Danica demanded.
"Sure, turn around." Danica did as she told, as Avery took the picture. "Look." She handed her the phone.
"Oh that, it's my birthmark, before it was on my shoulder and it stretched out as I grew up." Danica explained.
"Dude! Birthmarks don't expand nor do they glow!"
"I don't know man! Do you have a top so I could cover it?"
"Wait, might have something," She went over to her locker and rummaged through it eventually bringing out a crop top.
"Thanks," Danica said taking a look at the crop top it had the phrase'Love, Laugh, Live' on it. "Hey, that's mine!"
"Oops?" Avery gave her a sheepish grin.
"Let's go," she said heading to the changing room doors, as she fix the top so it covered the top half of her back.
Outside, Mason was leaning against the wall waiting for the girl.
"Sir!" Avery called out getting his attention.
"Finally! You sure took your time." He said as he approached them,"come this way," he led them to the gym. "Okay, now that you two are in school dressed you can start your training for the day. You will be learning how to defend yourself in your human form, Avery I'll start you off." He said looking at Danica to see her reaction
Danica nodded, knowing that she was sorted, she went off the punching bag where she practiced her kicking and punching. The bag was set out as if it were a wolf inhuman form, 'X' marking its weaknesses.
After an hour's worth of work out on the punching bag, she moved on to practicing how to drop a wolf, to the ground with force by Chris. The mat cleared, every wolf that was practicing cleared the space moving out of the way.
"Chris, I told you this would happen," Danica growled at him.
"You still need to practice," he told her.
"I'm more trained to take down a wolf in human form than any of them are!" She snapped back.
"Good, you should be an expert, you need it more than any of them here,Danica!" Chris snapped right back.
Mason couldn't help but listen to their conversation, getting confused as to what was up with the other kids and what Chris meant to why she needed it more than anyone else.
"Chris, I mean Mr. Anderson," James called getting everyone's attention. "I'll step in, Dani, I'll be your punching bag." James smirked.
"You sure, pretty boy?" Danica asked.
"Positive," he grinned. "Just don't hit the face, it's priceless."
"And just for that, I'll be hitting you square on the jaw."
"Give it your best shot, babe." James smirked coming up to her face.
"Just so you know I won't be going easy on you."
"You know I like it rough." He whispered in her ear.
"Okay you two, quit flirting. Get to work." Christopher ordered, making every one laugh. "Get back to work!"
Danica smirked at James who was pulling a face.
"Danica, focus this is your main objective here is to drop your opponent, you must...Danica!" Chris snapped at her. "Danica focus or else I will be changing your partners."
"Okay, okay, I'm focusing." Chris frowned at her while James stuck his tongue out at her childishly.
"James!" Christopher snapped. "You, as well need to focus!"James nodded his head in agreement. "Now as I was saying both of your goals is to get each other on the ground, while you are trying to do that you must both at least get blows on each other. James you know the rules when against Danica right?"
"Yep," he said popping the P.
"Danica you know the rules, you cannot hit him in the nuts."
"I know, I know we've been through this so many times."
"Now that's clear, go!"
Danica smirked at James before landing a punch in his gut, powerful enough to have an effect on him, making James topple over as he was caught off guard. Danica saw the opportunity and slammed him to the mat. She turned him over on his back, pinning him in place.
"Okay Dani, we get it you pinned me first," James said from underneath her since she was sitting on him. He saw Mr. Mickelson looking in their direction, which made him smile as he knew he could hear them perfectly well."You know I like to be on top," he said flipping them over so that he was on top pinning her down. He leaned in slowly closing the space between them. Danica caught that mischievous glint in his eyes, she had seen many times before, she smirked at him letting him know she was playing along too.
"JAMES SULLIVAN!" Chris barked.
He froze not closing in on her anymore, she smirked at him, whispering,"ooh you're in trouble," in a sing song voice.
"James, Danica that's enough your practice sessions are over!" Chris told them in a firm voice, just as the bell rang signalling for lunch.
Lunch breezed by quickly, today was one of Danica's favourite days, she love the training she got to do, fight with them one on one. It was the only opportunity to get her turn knocking head together of those who annoyed her throughout the week, it was for her a form of payback as she could beat up almost anyone of them in her class. It was also the only time where she was seen as an equal than a mare human.
The bell rang signalling end of lunch, she had spent this lunch period with James on the football pitch where she had joined him after she changed out of her training kit, as she didn't want to showcase herself in front of the whole student body since Avery had to catch up on some coursework.
James put his arm around her shoulder, "what's up short stuff?" He smirked down at her.
"I'm not short." She protested looking up at him, she came up to his nose. “My height is cute.“
"If you say so," he stood towering her to prove his point, still grinning.
"What's got you in such a good mood?" Danica had picked up on his good vibe, it pretty much radiated off him.
"You know...stuff," he shrugged casually, grinning knowingly at her as if he knew a secret of hers.
"Tell me, you fool!" she urged as they walked through the sparse corridor, to their form.
"Today the lads we're talking during lunch," he drifted off.
"James, what about?" she snapped.
"About you, and how hot those short shorts looked on you." Danica rolled her eyes, "word travels fast don't you think?"
It sure as hell did, Danica thought but only nodded in agreement. "That can't be the only thing to make you almost hyper, what else?"
James grinned, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, "you know Lucy," he began slowly watching Danica carefully, a frown began to form on her lips as he mentioned Lucy, since she hadn't said anything he continued."Well, she fancies me," he beamed.
Danica continued frowning, as she thought about what he said, she was filled with instant hatred towards the girl, their history together was bitter as lime and wasn't about to get any sweeter. She was the reason, why she was bullied the reason why she was belittled all the time, she was the one who once bullied her for not being a werewolf, for being the only human in a wolfs world for a very long time. Everything she did, the torments lasted until the day Bruce left, it all stopped, it stopped because Danica stood up for herself, humiliating Lucy in the process. Danica nodded to herself, "So you want to toy with her?" she concluded out loud.
"Err," he scratched the back of his head. "Yeah pretty much."
The frown was still plastered on her face, "sure go ahead, f**k her senseless." She told him uttering very unladylike words she hadn't thought would escape her mouth. Taking her seat as Mr. Mickelson began taking the register since Mr. Allen was away on business. "Just use a condom, try not to get AIDs or HIV. For the love of our friendship don't get contaminated."
James was shock that she gave him the go ahead, since they couldn't stand each other, as the shock wore out he gave her one of his cocky grins. He understood where she came from telling him to use protection since she was almost therewith being the pack w***e gaining a joint title but she had a little dignity left.
The bell rang signalling fourth period, the students slowly got out the classroom, James pulled Danica back into a hug, "This is going to be so awesome." Danica shot him a dirty look as she pulled back.
"Hey, James." greeted Lucy, Danica shudder at her voice, it wasn't out of fear but utter repulsion and hatred. Sadly for Danica the girl was in her form room. Danica turned and smirked at her, in return Lucy turned her no seat her, ignoring her, she was, to Danica's surprise alone, that only meant one thing she was here on business sticking around to flirt with James.
"Hey," James greeted back.
Danica began to walk off, she didn't want nor need to hear her attempts to seduce but only to be pulled back by James who put his arm around her. She scowled at him then turned to Lucy expectantly, since was here she might as well take the piss. Danica smirked at Lucy as she realised she wasn't going anywhere.
Lucy Scowled at Danica then smirked deviously, "James could you open this for me?" She asked sweetly, "It's stuck, I think."
James gave a confused look as Danica shook her head thinking, how hard could it be to open a bottle? You're a freaking werewolf! Danica rolled her eyes as James unscrewed the lid.
"Thanks," she took the bottle back, and pulled the lid off with more force than necessary spilling it all over Danica's chiffon shirt making her jump back at the cold water that splashed against her skin. Her clothes stuck to her body, everything was wet from her shirt to the tank top underneath including her bra which was visible too.
"You f*****g w***e!" Danica yelled at the girl. Lucy actually looked scared, and was fearing for her life as she cowered back even though she was a werewolf, she knew Danica could some real damage to her wolf and human form, even possibly kill her, she had seen her fight and not to forget the time when Danica broke her nose.
Danica went in with her fist ready to punch the girl in the face only to hit the air in front of her she turned around to find James had his arms around her holding her back. Mason stood in front of her acting as a barrier between Lucy and Danica. "That's enough," he barked.
Danica shot him a dirty and turned to face James who was holding her in place,"Let go, if you want to be a father." She hissed at him, knowing she will follow out on her threat he instantly let go and slightly stepping back, the movement didn't go unseen by Mason or Danica.
Lucy smirked at her from behind Mason, which angered Danica into going at her one more time ready to punch, only to be caught in Mason's hand, even that didn't stop her, she went at Lucy again. "You f*****g slag, you did this on purpose!" She yelled trying to get past Mason but her kept her there, she scowled at Mason. Then looked down at where his hands were, on her chest, frowning she looked at him then back at his hands he followed her gaze, instantly his eyes darkened and a cocky smirked formed on his lips."Pervert." She spat, causing him to remove his hands.
Mason clapped his hand together, getting the attention of crowd "Get to class," he barked, and quickly the crowd began to disperse."Lucy," he turned stopping her before she walked out, "and Danica don't think this will go unnoticed. This will be reported, and detentions will be handed out."
Danica raised an eyebrow questioningly, with a smirk on her face, "Do whatever, pervert." She told him. "I can get rid of it, after all I'man Anderson." She stormed out the room without looking back. She left the gobsmacked trio. Mason, smirked at her descending figure. "You two,"he addressed James and Lucy trying to hide the smirk, "I'm sure you got training to be attending because I've got to be teaching training. Get going." He ordered.
Danica slammed shut the locker after throwing in her wet clothing and changing into the kit Avery had lent to her. She took her hair out of her bun leaving it down, it wasn't like she was going to be training this period.
The class was being held outside because when the werewolves would shift and train they're going to much more space than their gym. During this period they would shift and train so they are ready for action whenever required and just to make sure the lazy werewolves stayed fit.
Danica zipped up her leather jacket, and strode across the field toward the benches where she would usually spend this hour. She searched the field as usual spotting Chris first, everything about him scream Alpha, the way he stood on all four head held high and not to mention his wolf was really large in comparison to the others almost over shadowing them. He was an almost white wolf except the tip of his fur were an warm honey colour She spotted Avery and James who were racing each other it was obvious Avery was faster than James by not much but he was stronger, Avery made it her duty to remind him of it which lead to their races just so James could beat her which never happened. The race was over and James pounced on Avery playfully, pinning her underneath him showing his strength. The other werewolves didn't even stop and stare as they were use to this, it was almost a ritual, they would have a race then a few rematches and when James didn't beat Ave he'd pin her displaying his full strength. James without a doubt was one of the strongest Werewolves in this pack and there were a pretty few tough werewolves.
Danica sat on her bench, away from the rest catching up with her art coursework, she was in the middle of the pencil sketch of James in his wolf form when he came up to her nudging her thigh with his snout. "Hey," she greeted him, stoking his fur on his head. Danica loved the colour of his fur it was a warm brown colour, it was earthy and homely. "Don't you have training to do?" Soon after Avery approached the duo she was a coppery red, which suited her well. "Hey Ave," Danica smiled. Avery nipped James tail making him yelp.
Danica looked between the two, she could tell they were having a conversation between each other, as they had the mind link Danica was not connected to.Avery nipped at James tail again making him to growl at her then pushed her away with his paw.
"James, Avery!" Mason called out approaching them. "You've got track to do, come on." Danica was surprised he could tell who they were in wolf form since he was new here.
James looked at Danica then Avery, then back to Danica. "It's okay,go." Danica encouraged him and he bolted getting a head start in the race,he was determined and dedicated to beat Avery. Avery nudged Danica with her nuzzle. "You should go too." Avery nodded her wolf head and went off. Danica turned to find Mason still standing there with an unreadable expression. "How did you know who they were?"
"Lucky guess? They are the only ones who have the guts to ignore the future Alpha and wonder." Mason chuckled. Danica nodded in agreement.Mason made no move going back to the field, he instead took a seat next to her."Why aren't you participating with them?"
Danica looked at him blankly remembering he was new. "I'm only human." She told him, simply.
Mason didn't quite get what she meant. "Why are you in this class, I'm sure it's entirely of werewolves."
"It is, except me. I'm the only none wolf here, I'm sure you read my files." She told him, he returned with a blank look. "Guess you haven't." she muttered to herself which he picked up on. "I'm in this class because I can take on these guys, unlike the other human mates, well I'm not a mate, but you get what I'm saying I have the strength and ability to fight with them in human form without exactly hurting myself. In strength I am almost as strong as these wolves present. But I am only human."
Mason took in her words, a little shocked but, it fitted, the missing piece to his puzzle was put in place locking it there painting a new picture and a flood of new understanding.
