9. Dealing with a Mutt

Karmin's POV

I gave myself about 20mins to feel sorry for myself and get ready for the various meetings. By the time I was done, I was in the conference room 5 mins early for my first little meeting. If I was right that Royal Delta was Alexia's mate and father to the pup that was currently growing within her.

Everything that I had asked for was there ready and waiting for me. I knew my omegas would be a long with lunch in about two hours time so that gave plenty of time to deal with Alexia once and for all... I just don't know how Nicolaas will feel about ruling for his side mutt. The truth was I didn't know what to do. clearly he cares for other wise she would have been long gone and now that she opened her mouth baby "his baby" he might even make her his Queen and me his Mistress.

I: there is no way in the world I will become his Mistress to that f***king MUTT!!!

K: I know, we will have to reject him if that is how he wants it to be. I'm not going to be some side piece because he doesn't know how to keep it in his pants.

Before Isabella could answer the Delta came in. " Your Majesty my Name is Dolton and I am the head warrior and Delta for the Royals" he had his head bowed. " She is your mate isn't she." it was more of a statement that a question. His head shot up and he looked at me. "Yes your Majesty Alexia is my mate. I'm not sure why I was paired with her but after today I'm not sure I even want her as a mate." " oh so you want to reject her then" " Sigh. to be honest I don't know how I could. The pain of the rejection would kill the baby and the King would kill me if I killed his unborn child"

I growled. " THAT MUTT IS NOT PREGNANT WITH WITH MY MATES BABY!" I could feel that my eyes were purple as Isabella came through. I didn't blame her and I knew she wouldn't hurt him. " Your Majesty I don't mean any offense" he was bowed with his neck showing. I took a breath. " I know but what you nor she could know is that he wouldn't be able to make her pregnant. I am assuming that you two mated?" "Yes as soon as we found out we couldn't keep our hands off each other..." " But she didn't want to be marked?" " she said that she wanted to wait... that she needed to speak to her mother first because it would be a huge blow to the family's reputation that she was paired with such a low ranking wolf."

I could see the complete hurt in his eyes as he said the last part. I always knew that they were power hungry and only cared about status but this was low even for them.. I knew what needed to be done but he would ultimately decide. " Dolton, the pup is yours. I ask that you trust me when I say this and I promise all will be explained later as to why it could only be yours. I take it you didn't feel the pain of her cheating? ok well then unless it happened before then it definitely did not happen after... what if I told you that there is a way to keep the baby safe while you reject her?" " then let's bring her here.. I want to sever this stupid bond and get rid of her for once and for all" " and what about the baby?" "that your Majesty I do not know. I don't know if inwould be a good father and I don't know if I could be a single one." " I understand... well there is still some time for you to decide.. I am sure that the Goddess would grant you with a second chance mate."

" in all honesty your Majesty I am not sure if I even want one after this." " I understand Dolton I really do. but please think about the baby though. it would ve better if she stayed with her father." Dolton looked at me. It is far too early to tell the s*x of the baby but I knew that it was going to be a little girl. "ok well Dolton please can you just wait in the next room. I'll mindlink you when to come through." He looked confused but gave me a nod and left. I sent a mindlink through to Hailey and Liam and told them to get everyone here so that I could get it over and done with. Within in 10mins all those that needed to be here were filling up the room. I had made sure that there were two set of elders from each pack just because I didn't want Alexia and her mother to try and turn this around.

The last person to enter was Nicolaas. He looked... calm? it was in this moment that I hated how I could just read his mind. If we were mated and marked I would be able to feel what he feels and be able to mindlink with him. He looked at me and it looked like his eyes flashed black. Looks like his wolf is trying to come out and play... I could hear Isabella purring. I rolled my eyes and reminded her that he followed the unconscious body of that mutt.

I took a deep breath and allowed Isabella to be with me. I knew I had one hazel eye and one purple one which meant that we were both in control. I saw the Royals eyes grow huge, even Nicolaas was shocked... he couldn't keep his eyes off of me... before he said anything Alexia entered " Oh Nick!"

Nicolaas POV

I followed the omega to conference room. Normally in a situation like this I would be the firstbone here making sure with the Aphla I was visiting that everything was in order and that all the necessary people and elders were there as witnesses, but this time I was the last person to enter and I that was because I had complete faith in my mate. That was also the reason why I let her carry on with all the preparations for the Alpha meeting and only gave an input if she asked.. which she hardly did.

I walked in and my eyes immediately found hers. She was breathtaking just sitting there with a look that could kill. I didn't care that that look was directed at me I was just happy she was looking at me. I gave her a look up and down before I sat next to her. I noticed how she leaned into me a little, closed her eyes and took a deep breath when she open them I was shocked... She had one hazel eye and one stunning purple eye. I guess they only glow when she is angry. I was about to tell her that her eyes were beautiful and then......

"Oh Nick!!" before I could even answer Karmin growl so loud that everyone stopped. Alexia looked frozen to the spot. I saw that everyone in the room was showing her their necks and if I was honest I was trying my hardest not to do the same. I looked at Alexia and then Karmin... She had this hurt look in her eyes and that honestly made my heart hurt. I had had enough of this shewolf and now I needed to make me decision clear.

"ENOUGH! I don't know what you thought would happen after your little stunt but this isnt the middle ages. You and your mother need to understand this once and for all.... I WILL NOT MAKE YOU MY QUEEN. YOU WILL NOT BE A MISTRESS. I LOVE MY MATE AND HAVE LOVED HER FOR YEARS. SHE IS MY ONE AND ONLY QUEEN AND SHE WILL BE THE ONLY MOTHER OF MY PUPS!! Just because you claim to have my child doesn't mean I am going to give you and special treatment. It's the f***king 21st century there are tests that work on wolves as well that will be able to tell who the father is!"

Both Alexia and her mother looked sick, as if they had been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. So I was right she was hoping that I was going to make her Queen because she merely claimed to be having my pup. The truth is... I would never do that Karmin. Even if it was mine, neither she or the pup would see the light of day.

"there is no way that that pup could be mine Alexia because I haven't been with you in months! And that last time you had the audacity to drug me so that I would sleep with you! I have let this gone on long enough out of love and respect for your brother but after this... I am done.... what do you have to say for yourself!"

She just stood there... unable to move. Karmin rolled her eyes and told her she can speak. Once the words left her mouth Alexia fell to the floor. I raised brow at Karmin and she just shrugged it off as if it was nothing. I guess there is a lot I don't know about her. Yet. I smiled at thought of really getting to know her. I turned attention back to Alexia.

"Nick..." "GET IT IN YOUR STUPID HEAD! HE IS YOUR KING AND YPU ARE NITHING MORE THAN A MUTT WHO KEEP DISRESPECTING THE QUEEN!!!" Karmin's eyes were glowing and some how I knew she was one wrong word away from killing her.

"I.. Im sorry I meant your Majesty. All I ask is that you think of our pup. I know you think that this isn't yours but the night of your coronation you took me to bed were we made love" Her eyes were pleading as if hoping to hell that her plan had worked. I smirked at her. " We never went to bed together Alexia." " Yes we did" She looked like she was going to cry.

" no Alexia we didn't. You see I knew you were going to try something. What you didn't know is that I changed everything with the omegas and assigned a special omega to cook for me just incase you somehow were able to drug my food too. See I met my mate earlier when I was getting ready for my big day... right there I knew I need to make sure you couldn't do anything because by judging how she held my pillow she knew we were mates and thus would feel anything you might try"

By the look on her face it was clear she had no idea I would take measures to keep her away from me. " didn't you wonder Alexia why you couldn't come near me at all during the entire evening? For s**t sake I even double locked my room door to make sure you couldn't get in. Did you feel any pain that evening or any evening since my love?" I was looking at Karmin and noticed that her eyes were no longer glowing but the smirk on her face was doing things to my wolf.

" No. In fact I didn't feel any type of betrayal and I would know what that would feel like. but regardless that pup isn't the King's." " oh really... and what makes you so sure that my pup isn't his" She saidbwith such venom in her voice. My mate smirked. " simple... I have already spoken to your mate who is here, and besides that... the King is a Lycan."

Karmin's POV

"simple... I have already spoken to your mate who is here, and besides that... the King is a Lycan." the room was dead quiet. the only people who weren't looking at me as if I had lost the plot were my own pack members. "Dolton would you please enter" Dolton came in and Alexia went completely white. As he pasted her he growled which made her whimper. He bowed to Nicolaas and myself and stood as far away from Alexia as he could. I mindlinked the doctors to come in and they started setting up the monitors for the baby. " Dolton and I spoke earlier when I realized that he was your mate Alexia. To say that he wants nothing more to do with you is putting it politely. I gave him a choice. Doctors please make sure that she is hooked up to the monitors correctly. We will need to monitor the babys heart rate during this."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, focusing on the little heart beat and casting a protective shield so that the rejection won't kill the pup.

" Right, this next bit will take a bit out of me so let's get this over with. I have cast a protective shield over your pup for this next bit. The monitors will show me the pups heart rate and if there is anything wrong I will heal her, because none of what you did is her fault. I will also heal you once this is done so that it won't affect the pup."

I could see everyone was confused. So I decided to get this over with. " I spoke to Dolton and gave him a choice. He could either keep you as his mate or reject you. To put I plainly, he wants nothing more to do with you but is still on the fence about his pup." Alexia looked like she was going to throw up. I am guessing that she didn't think it would end like this. Maybe she was going to keep him as her lover? Please. I looked at Dolton... he couldn't take his eyes off of the monitor, I am guessing that she never showed him any pictures. No wonder he was on the fence about the baby.

"Dolton the floor is yours. I once again give you the opportunity to decide what you want to do with your mate and pup." Dolton looked at the monitor and gave his head a nod. He turned to Alexia. " You have done nothing but reject the mate bond and embarrass me and yourself. The you completely lied to me about marking you and used me to get you pregnant so that you can try pass the pup off as the King's in hope that you could become Queen. You have disrespected my Queen and the Goddess herself with your actions. I could never stay with you. So it leaves me no choice.

I Dolton, head Delta and Head Worrior of the Royal Pack hereby REJECT you Alexia, Former Beta Female as my mate and mother to my pup."

Alexia fell to the floor screaming. I kepted my focus on the pup, making sure that there was no harm coming to her. I let her feel the break, she needed to feel the pain of the rejection. I could see tears running down Doltons face and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. So I healed his broken heart. He looked up at me... " thank you your Majesty, you didn't need to heal my heart too." He bowed his head.

" I know but this wasn't easy for you. Alexia do you accept?" I could see that she didn't want to accept the rejection but at this stage there was nothing she could do. She stood up and looked at Dolton. " I Alexia, former Beta Female of the Royal Pack hereby accept your rejection." and with that she feel to the floor again screaming in pain. After a few seconds I started to heal her. I didn't heal her fully, I left her with a mild hurt from the rejection. I could feel the pup's heart beating strong. I knew she would be fine but there was one more thing I needed to shield her from.

"Dolton, have you decided what you want to do in relation to your pup?" he stood for a minute and then looked to me. " I would like to keep her. I will try and be the father that I know she deserves. I know it will be hard being mateless and single but she is mine and I will watch her grow." " Done. Alexia, will be kept in a room locked up until she is to give birth. She and the pup will be looked after and monitored as to make sure that no harm becomes either of them during this time. Once the pup has been born, she will be taken away and given to her father to raise. He will be given any help he might need for as long as he asks for it. Alexia your trail will start once you have given birth so that there is no stress put onto yourself or the pup. ease be warned. If you do anything to harm this pup in any such way you will be charged with attempted murder or murder if the baby does die as a result of something you did intentionally is that understood."

Alexia just nodded. Tears staining her face. it was done and I could remove the shield. " Lock her up in one of the guest rooms, you know which one" I said to one of my Deltas that were there. make sure that there is a guard by her door at all times, you Alexia are not allowed to leave the room until the day you give birth. I will assign two omegas to help look after you. They will be responsible for your food, drink and anything you may need during this time. They will report to Dolton on the progess of the pup and a doctor will come see you weekly which reports will also be given to Dolton. Dolton can then decide whether to let your family know of the pups condition or not." Everyone gave me a nod.

The Delta came and picked her up and took her away. This took a lot out of me so I got up and lay down on the couch. " What do you mean Lycan?" I could tell Nicolaas had his eye brows raised with out having to look at him. I kept my eyes closed while I explained. " Have you ever wondered why you are a lot bigger and stronger than the rest of your pack? True the Royal Pack does come from Lycans that's why on average the mebers of the pack have been a little bigger and stronger. Did you not wonder why you shifted way earlier than what you were meant to?" " How did you know I shifted before the normal age?" " A lycan shifts 3 years before a normal wolf dose. If the size of your wolf didn't give it away then that fact alone should have made it clear you weren't a werewolf."

I now had a damp cloth over my eyes trying to get the head ache away. I could hear them all thinking. To my surprise the elders of the Royal Pack didn't find this hard to believe. Which lead me to think that the former King and Queen knew. I looked at the former Royal Beta. " I am guessing that the former King and Queen knew." Sigh. " Yes they did. The Queen told us that the Goddess came to her in a dream, telling her that her pup would be the reborn Lycan King and that war was coming. It is why he, my son and the Gamma who sent to the witch elders to train. I don't like to say this but they also given bewitched rings to help cool their Lycans."

I and Isabella growled at this... Keeping Lycans locked away or even partially locked away was never good for their tempers especially male Lycans. I took a deep breath. " I understand why you did it Lycan tempers especiallywith males are horrible. But they should have been bonding with their Lycans or at least told that they are Lycans. I'm sure certain things are falling into place." " It actually explains alot. Even when I had shifted it didn't feel right. Like this still wasn't my true form." I saw Nicolaas and his Beta nod at this. "This is also why Alexia had to drug you. A Lycan can not be seduced by mere wolf."

"But wait why isn't she a lycan?" " Simple, the Goddess needed to gradually bring back the Lycans. She chose who needed to be a Lycan simply in relation to their involvement in the up coming war. Alexia isn't going to participate in the war what so ever so there was no point in her being one. But you Oliver are the Royal Beta and the fact that your mate is Lycan it meant that you needed to be one too." He looked shocked. He turned to Hailey with hurt in his eyes.

" How could you not tell me" "I asked her not too. Please don't be upset with her. This needed to come from me at the right time. This wasn't how I wanted to tell you all but sadly things changed. I am not explaining this all properly. Can we please take a break and come back for lunch. I promise you all I will explain everything."

"of course my Queen." I don't know if I'll get use to that. I got up off the couch and took a step before falling. Lucky for me two strong arms caught me and by the sparks and scent I could tell Nicolaas was holding me. I let the feeling calm me and welcomed the darkness.

Nicolaas POV

"of course my Queen." Karmin got up and took a step and began to fall. I grabbed her and held onto her as if my life depended on it. I picked her up bridal style and held her to my chest. " the meeting is done for now. We will come back in two hours and have a late lunch. I am sure any answers can wait until then". With that I walked out and back up to our suite. When I got there there was an omega busy restocking the fridge. " Sorry please can you bring something light to eat for the Queen and a pot of tea too. Please close the door to the suite and just knock when you come back... Can you also let everyone know not to disturb us and that lunch is to be served in twos hours." " of course your Majesty I will get a platter for the Queen now"

She bowed and left the suit. I took Karmin to our room and placed her on our bed. Our bed... the thought of that warmed my heart. I took off her shoes and placed a thin blanket over her. It wasn't cold but the room had a little chill on her and I had this over bearing need to look after her. I placed a small kiss on her forehead and began to walk to the little lounge in our room. Before I could get too far I felt this small hand grap my shirt and pull me back towards the bed. I guess my mate wants me with her. Without a word, she lay back down and I got in behind her. I pulled her tight towards my chest and pulled the thin blanket over us.

the feeling of having my mate in my arms was nothing but magical. I released a breath I had no idea I was holding and I felt like I could relax for the first time in months. I couldn't help but smile at how well we fitted together. I needed answers and I knew she would give them to me but for now I just relished in the fact that I was with her and slowly drifted off to sleep.
