Lyria was still frozen, her usual quick thinking nature seemingly gone. Her mind was a buzzing blank, and everything around her seemed to move both too quickly and too slowly. She blinked and tried to make sense of what was going on around her but nothing changed. All at once her sense returned to her. It was as if everything snapped into place and she shook her head. Then she shouted. “Everyone, defensive positions!” She pointed to her father. “Tend to Levias. Mother, the pups. Everyone else secure the castle, find the guards. Now!” She bolted toward the door just after her mate, carried forward on muscle memory.
