Lyria awoke a short time later, still clutched in her mate’s arms. For a moment, she let her eyelids flutter and she curled more deeply into him, wrapping her arms around his neck. Wallace held her, pulling her up to kiss her forehead gently, on the side of the road. When Lyria opened her eyes, she saw a crowd of wolves standing anxiously around the King, clearly trying to give them space but also quite worried.
