Ren, In a flash I was out of the bed. the sleep vanished from my eyes and I am alerted, like I had just gulped down jars of caffeine. I jumped straight to the shower. It was a quickie. In another flash I was out in the room, looking for something to wear. I grabbed the first t-shirt I spotted and just like that I chose the Demin too. It was still six o’clock, which means, doctor Ezekiel will be in the hospital in around half an hour. I better hurry up. I need to know what the situation is. I rushed to my car and drove off to the hospital. I want to change my apartment. It’s just too far. Thank god there won’t be much traffic at this time. I want to know exactly what is going on. * Ezekiel “what is all this huh?” angered I threw the white printed pages on the table ricocheting it on the wide surface. “what is what? What are you talking about?” he still tried playing innocent. But I can see him through his fake innocence, the mask that we wore every day to every place I can see right through it. “f*****g read the papers...!!” I snarled. - - - - - - - Ever since my first step in the hospital a few minutes ago, I am getting some ridiculously off vibes. The hospital at this time is quite speechless and empty but today somehow it felt different. The few people on the corridors other then minding their own business, they were all to focused on watching me march through the floor. Their heads were twisting to my direction, I could see it from the edge of my eyes. ‘why are they so interested in me?’ my brain talked to my eyes. I knew some of them, they were the hospital’s old staff, some were new and some were just with the patient or the patient. I saw their eyes travel with my walk. Trying to not be affected by those gazes, walking past them I went to me room. I had some paper work to do which has been pending up from my busy schedule. I have two big operations this week, both crucial which I haven’t had it all planned out. ‘I should work on that today first.’ The first thing I noticed entering the office was the most expected, a pile of papers. I have to make report for yesterday’s operations and there were some pending approvals for the medical equipment that were needed from the inventory. I wore my white coat and seated on the chair comfortably keeping my back stretched and tall. Grabbing the pen in my hands, I started going through the reports. The first one was from the surgery that I did yesterday, the lobectomy was successful and he is recovering in the ICU ward. Ren did great, he is getting so much better. He can someday be a great surgeon that everyone will admire. Thankfully there was no permanent damage to the patient’s health. Unfortunately, I couldn’t say the same about the other one, his death was unfortunate. I would have known better before entrusting it to Owen. He is my assistant and is good at it. But maybe he is not as good of a surgeon as he is an assistant. His carelessness made someone lose its life. I don’t think it will be good for him. He might get sued for it or maybe worse. I shouldn’t have accepted him as my assistant when the director asked me a favor as a friend to train his son under my practices, I should have denied it then. It would have been for the best. Ren could have done much better than him.
